Cooger and Dark

I originally posted this in the Dollhouse of the Damned but ForeverEvil1 made a good point that this probably belongs here: What has me curious this year is, what will be HOTY? Looking at the three originals, I could see it easily being one of those. Dolls and clowns are automatically scary to a lot of people and if we throw in rambunctious cannibals, I think these three could be the scariest of the event. If that ends up being the case, what sort of effect will that have on the event in the coming years? We know that the reviews of AWIL and CitW last year gave A&D a little more wiggle room in trying to land passion projects, so what would two or three well rated originals do to the event next year?

I think, depending upon the actors, this could be a great house. The general storyline sounds good and the sketches look pretty awesome, so this one may be very balls to the wall. Okay, moving away from the polarizing topic of scarezones, what do people think the Stay and Scream houses will be? Kidzone is pretty obviously going to be Roanoke, but what about Finnegan's? Depending upon how they structure the queues, I think it will be either AvP or FDTD, but I am not sure which. We all know that AvP will be popular, so is it possible that will be the Stay and Scream house with FDTD dragging in those coming from outside the park?

I have heard from one insider that this may end up being the dark horse house for this year...

Looks good. Is anyone else hoping that DU:RoB enters where AvP enters and they put the entrances to AvP and TWD right next to eachother so that they can have all the houses exit by the Twister gift shop? Because after last year's lines, that is what I am hoping for.

What if the 'surprise' at the end is the real wendigo eating the deranged colonists? I could totally get behind that idea.

That's an interesting idea and it would let them repurpose their Minotaur costume from 2010 (assuming that has not already been done or been sold).

Let's face it:

Can I agree and disagree? I like the darker houses because there was more of the unexpected about them, but then you get the finale scene from La Llorona last year where you could not see that she was being dragged under by children's skeletons (or at least, my wife and I did not see it until the lights on tour).

The shack will most likely be where Hershel's Barn was. The Squatters will most likely be roaming Central Park. Where will the Voodoo Queen be?

If Uni pulls off a better version of this: Then I would say we are all set for a good time. The stitches thing has me especially intrigued.

I am really looking forward to this house and hoping it does not feel as short as Havoc did last year.

Are the rooms especially big or did they just give the remaining rooms to TWD megahouse?

Saws are most likely in The Purge scarezone and there was at one time a rumor that the clown house may have an unofficial clowns with saws scarezone. Edit: Also, this year seems like it may be the year of gore. I mean the potentially gory houses so far are: TWD, FDTD, AvP, Giggles and Gore Inc., and Roanoke. Add to that MASKerade and Bayou of Blood and it sounds like this may be a gorefest.

Well that puts that rumor to rest. I do think he and the CitW clown should show up in the final room, though (I mean, they already have the costumes)

Or it could just be them following through on the idea with a different character. I would love the Cindy connection though...

They mentioned a surprise in the finale and I am curious as to what on earth it could be...

I could definitely see it as being the sleeper hit.

Okay, so Dracula: Legacy in Blood started with the impaled victims and this house ends with them. I wonder if, unlike D:LiB, this one will have the victims as live SAs made to look impaled?

If this proves to be true, I am surprised that they are not using SOME creature from Native American mythology. I mean, that area had the Algonquin tribes which had a few decent monsters, and one called the Widjigo, which is basically the same as the Wendigo. The "just a few of the things that will be flying past your heads" part of that description still gets me the most, as I there are quite a few bird based creatures in Native American mythology.

When they mention the egg nursery, I imagine it being like the baby zombie nursery scene in Zombiegeddon.

Well the lab is in Central America where the first Predator movie took place. Maybe the Predators (being the hunters that they are) want to check out the super weapons in this lab or it could be just as simple as the first AvP movie where they treat hunting the xenomorphs as a game.

Weyland Yutani is the name of the company that funded the Nostromo in the first Alien movie. In sequels, they have become obsessed with the xenomorph creatures and want to capture it for their own purposes. From the description of the house, it is clear we are in a lab but it is unclear as to where this lab is so it could be on a spaceship or it could just be earthbound.

Yeah, I like that they are eschewing the movie plotlines and making it their own thing with the aforementioned baddies. I am really looking forward to seeing the chestbursters, spine ripping scene, and (I hope) a Predator cloaking or uncloaking himself.

Motorcycles, you say? Consider me intrigued.
