  1. a lot of you are saying cast b signed in at 7. i was placed on cast b, and when i got my role phone call, i was told that sign in was 5:45. was i misinformed, or is sign-in house/street dependent? or was this possibly just for rehersals?

Sign-in can be different for every street/house. Some of the houses over in kidzone area open early the first few weeks for passholders for instance so they are open before the event even technically begins. Some street casts don't go out until after the park is already open.

Whatever you were told on the phone call is correct. If they said 5:45 sign in that's what your sign-in is.

  2. As far as icons go, for houses/scarezones, they cast from the regular audition group, because I know a couple of people who were in Shadows of the Past last year.

Well yes for house/scarezone icons they are regular actor C's... I was in Shadows of the past :D . What I was referring to is if there were to be any type of show, or a prominent icon a la the jack photo-op that existed at HHN17, those could be chosen from this other audition that I posted about.

  3. I didn't know they ever auditioned for the icons? I thought they always used actors internally for videos, pr, and what not.

Well they do auditions for actors for Horror Nights. Last year there was the person in Containment on the truck, he was an actor, and also the man outside of Cirque Du Freak who spoke, was also an actor.

Same goes for two years ago with the Wicked Witch and the Caterpillar.

As a matter of fact auditions for a similar type role (Actor A's for HHN) is being held soon.

    7/24 - Actors; 12 pm

    7/25 - Actors; 12 pm

Universal Orlando® is seeking actors for Halloween Horror Nights XX. Please prepare a one minute monologue. Improv skills may be required for certain roles. All candidates must be available for evening rehearsals starting in mid September and every evening of the event: 9/24, 9/25, 9/30, 10/1, 10/2, 10/3, 10/7, 10/8, 10/9, 10/10, 10/14, 10/15, 10/16, 10/17, 10/20, 10/21, 10/22, 10/23, 10/24, 10/27, 10/28, 10/29, 10/30, 10/31

I wouldn't rule out that a potential actor for an icon could be selected from this audition.

Pure speculation on my part though.

What I said before still stands though. If old icons were to be brought back, Universal would try to rehire the actor who originally played the icon first.

  4. for that, i do think the names are directly related to the roles, its just probably something that won't make a lick of sense until after the event/more information is known for sure.

Exactly. The role names really only seem cryptic until you see what the character looks like or what the scene or house is. That's when everything "falls into place."

They can sometimes turn into fun nicknames though...

  5. The whole 2 story house is nonsense...How are the guest in wheelchairs going to get to the 2nd story? Here Mr. Wheelchair person you can go backstage to our specially designed ramp that completely ruins your the atmosphere. And if they dont have that, what are they going to have? Two pathways with someone guarding the ramp? Its highly unlikely to have stairs in a house

Stairs in a house has happened before. HHN15 Where Evil Hides, a Soundstage house, had an upstairs portion. They build a section that is ADA compliant for those that are in wheelchairs or can not use stairs.

I can not recall all the other details about it but there were other things in place to make this work as well.

  6. when did everyone get their calls? morning, afternoon, night..? i've had my cellphone on me almost religiously because i don't know when to expect it. i'm afraid they're gonna call my house phone instead though, which has been going out sporadically...

My call came in the evening. They called my cell phone.

  7. Aw, well, i'll hope. I can't make it down before then. -sad- Will they announce if they cancel the last audition? I'll hold off on buying my plane ticket.

Yes, if the auditions end up being canceled they should send out an email blast if you are signed up on the auditions email list. It should also get updated on the site.

Does anyone remember when they decided to cancel the final audition last year?

  8. I dont know how I feel about a black and white house. I mean, its a totally probable possibility, just personallty idk if I'd like it xD Black and White sometimes gives me a headache.

Then again, I also thought I wouldnt like Dead Exposure because over all the flashing lights, and turns out I missed out on an amazing house XD So you neeever know

Dead Exposure was essentially a Black and White house with the exception of the first and last room.

  9. I know this may be a little off topic. But could there be a possibility of us having a completely Black and White haunted house, actors and environment all painted? I mean, it seems classic, and would really fit as a marker for the early years of HHN.

This is just an idea that popped into my head after seeing grey planks on the construction thread. So my apologies for randomness.

A Black and White House/Scarezone has been a frequent topic on this board and previous boards for years. It may even be the most requested haunt.

  10. For those who've worked in the past when are rehearsals usually held, and how many are there? Also aren't they held after hours when the park is closed? I'm just curious cause I don't want my regular work schedule to interfere with rehearsals and I don't think it would be a good idea to ask for rehearsal days off. Thanks for your help :)

If you are cast in a permanent role (non ABU) you will have two rehearsal nights and the employee preview night which is essentially a dress rehearsal. Rehearsal nights are typically 7pm-12am or 7pm-11pm. All of the rehearsal dates will be listed on the audition sheet that you fill out and you are able to mark exactly which ones you can and cannot attend.

  11. Just a quick few questions, if i arrrive at first public audition at 2 for the 6 audition should i expect to sit inside HR(the waiting room) or on the concrete sidewalk outside? and will they start the audtions at 6 and how long after that should the complete casting process be done?

The doors to the HR building won't open until 5:30 at the earliest, unless it starts to pour rain. Anticipate waiting outside, bring an umbrella.

The auditions start at six and the amount of time it takes for you to be finished is entirely dependent on how early you get there.

In essence if you get there earlier you don't have to stay as late. If you get there later you just finish later in the night. It's fairly likely you will have to wait a long time no matter when you show up.

  12. I speculate that being very doubtful. Individuals sending in information (that was available to a multitude of people) to a third party and that third party posting it on the internet, well, doesn't sound too traceable to me.

    Those people's jobs are fine.

Actually roles are given over the phone, and sometimes there is only 2 of certain characters. It becomes even easier to trace someone when they say i am "such and such #11". :o

Bottom line is, if you are cast, and you then receive a phone call with your role, do not disclose it. It is ok to say "I'm Cast B in Hollywood" but don't post your role until the event starts.
