I think a maze of any musician is a bad idea, but I will probably enjoy it anyway. But the idea that we are getting Ozzy over Cabin in the Woods pisses me off.
-
actually, Murdy has said the title might stay the same as last year
I really hope it's not the same title, but Murdy did say it on twitter. He said he submitted a new name but it was rejected. Really weird.
-
IGN says there will be no scenes (or even easter eggs) from the originals in the maze, sorry DTH

Yeah I really want more to be done with Jurassic Park. And the Mummy. It would be fairly easy to add a few more gory props and change the lighting. Maybe even change the voice overs to be something different. Freddy taunting you at the top of the jurassic park hill or in the final room of the mummy would have been awesome for 2009. I'm sure the park sees it as a needless expenditure, but I would love to see it.
Also, yeah every year they don't announce everything until way after knotts. It sucks.

I agree, DTH This has been a long time coming, hope murdy pulls out all the stops. I want this to be one of the best mazes at the event.
-
Very high if you go to Universal Orlando resort...
I wish. I just know Murdy is a fan of the movie so it would be interesting if he chose it over cabin in the woods.
-
Halloween is my favorite horror franchise, so I would love for it to come back. What do you all think are our chances of getting american werewolf in london?
-
I still can't believe USO is getting CitW and we're not. Theyre so lucky, its beyond maddening to me! Something has to make up for losing this property, and it better be something more grand than then the Evil Dead remake!
What would be a suitable replacement for you? For me, I think it's Alien or Hellraiser. But neither of those are happening.

I think we will have 7 mazes this year, what with profits increasing every year. Are we really expecting Universal Monsters Remix and Alice Cooper to return? I hope not. Walking Dead returning is enough.
-
Coming off my hangover, I can tell you that much to my dismay it's clear that Cabin in the Woods WILL NOT be at Hollywood in any form. Murdy has stated numerous times it will not be there, I did not sense any tricks. Also they would both be announced at the same time.
As baffling as this is to me, horror nights is always fun no matter what mazes they have at the event. Or at least that's what my therapist tells me.

I will be hitting the bottle tonight if it's exclusive to orlando, I can tell you that much.

Yeah, their first announcement is at midnight, so 9PM here. Cabin in the Woods is PERFECT for a maze so it better be a joint maze. This is one of the few franchises I wouldn't mind having a maze, scarezone, and terror tram based off of. So many possibilities.

I recently watched Cabin in the Woods for the second time, I can confirm they played truth or dare. That said, will it be a joint announcement or will it only go to Florida?
-
1) Buffy and Angel's Hellmouth Haunt
2) Clive Barker's Harvest
3) Crypt Keeper's Film Vault
4) The Asylum
5) Terror Tram: Director's Cut

Yeah, it was a success and I hope it leads to more classic horror movie mazes. I've wanted hellraiser for 6 years now, I really hope it ends up happening sooner rather than later.

Good points. I have not seen mama and I agree it did not have much of a cultural impact. However, universal owns it, it would be easy to put in the shrek queue because la llorona looks like mama, and a sequel has entered production. If Murdy isn't into it I'm probably wrong, but that was my reasoning.
American Horror Story is a popular series with varied characters and settings, but I'm still not sure the popularity with the general public is there. the walking dead gets on average 5 times as many viewers, Murdy hasn't seemed very interested from what I've seen, and more and more properties are wanting mazes which makes it harder to secure a spot.
Your remake point is dead on, and means that hellraiser and poltergeist are still on the table, however it should be noted that the saw is the law was a last minute replacement, when whatever was in the jurassic park queue prior was cancelled. Also, Hellraiser and Poltergeist are a bit more cult than texas chainsaw as leatherface is a popular horror icon.
-
Good, I would rather see just about any other property. Just assumed it as a cost saving measure.

I would say that Walking Dead is an absolute lock, though I hope only for a sequel maze and not tram again. The most likely new properties are Mama (universal property, good box office, could reuse la llorona props) Evil Dead remake (has a good amount of hype, looks very bloody with a variety of characters- could make a great tram) and Insidious (sequel this year, original very popular). I think less likely but could happen are Exorcist and Alien. And lastly, don't hold your breath for American Horror Story (still not popular enough), Cabin in the Woods (bad box office), Poltergeist and Hellraiser (too old/cult, and remakes are on the way), any repeat of a previous theme except walking dead.
-
I love poltergeist and I would love to see it, but I think it would likely just focus on the first film as it's the only one the general public remembers. Though Kane should be in it at least as a cameo...
-
I return! How has everyone been? Well, I hope. Now for the topic at hand, wishful thinking. I would love to finally see Alien, Exorcist, or Hellraiser. I think one is at least pretty likely seeing as how Murdy says a popular IP not yet done is coming. If this has already been discussed ad naseum, I apologize. Life sidetracked me pretty bad.

Probably true, but as far as I know all of the soundstages aren't being used 100% of the time. Its probably a pipe dream, but it would be really cool.
-
If alice cooper wasn't rated very highly, maybe we won't finish the trilogy after all. I would be fine with that.
As for my comment about 8 mazes, I only think its possible because of the event selling out every single day. But I just realized that adding on many more dates would likely help with that. I think horror nights might have been so profitable this year that 1 or 2 soundstage mazes is a real possibility though.
-
My quick thoughts on things:
- Jurassic Park should happen. It would be really easy to add a few things to the ride, make the lower lot scarezone jurassic park, and have a maze that ties into the upcoming movie. Orlando has already done it, and someone needs to ask murdy if it would really be any more silly than an alice cooper maze (ive liked both alice cooper mazes, but they have been silly- the first had a room based on schools out. How is a schools out scene a less goofy maze idea than jurassic park?) Sorry, big Jurassic Park fan here.
- Universal Monsters Remix was the best house of horrors overlay ever. There I said it. That being said, the dubstep was the worst element of it and house of horrors still could be improved upon with minimal effort. Just turn off the dubstep. The new props and actors improved it immensely. Just super-charge the regular house of horrors every year and leave it at that.
- The Jaws character is a zombie quint. has to be.
- The Walking Dead is 100% guaranteed for next year
- Alice Cooper is 90% guaranteed next year.
- Silent Hill is 100% guaranteed to not appear next year. Movie bombed.
- But Resident Evil could happen. It would have to feature the movies in some way, but I would hope the games would be in it too (this might have to wait for the 6th resident evil movie)
- I would say Texas Chainsaw is 50/50
- I really don't want a KISS maze, or a Marilyn Manson maze, or Ozzy Osborne or any other musician. Am I alone on this?
- I think we will see 7 mazes next year for sure, possibly 8.

^ Yes, you can get a pass that works like a fastpass. They will give you a return time and you can sit down or whatever.

I guess it doesn't need much more confirmation at this point, but I've found the biggest piece of evidence for This is the End happening yet...
