Well, I finally got my notification - looks like I won't be joining you all this year. I wish I knew why. Scare the pants off of them for me!!
They gave you a notification that you didn't get it? Why didn't they tell you the night of your audition? Or are you internal?

I gotta say that the women in the third thumbnail in Characters, the one in the Caretaker video, is pretty damn hot. I don't know if this should go under speculation or not, but I really hope she is going to be at the event. Just my two cents. Also, the last picture Fabala was so gracious to catch for us, you can't tell me that isn't the Usher.

Just caught this on CSW and confirmed on UniversalOrlando.com
Just got notice today that HHN-XX is FULL!
All Tuesday auditions are concluded. There is B&T auditions on the 24th and
25th, but scareactor auditions are DONE.
Don't show up
Don't call and beg
Don't wait so long next year!
Congrats to all who were cast.
Well, as expected, that's it for this year. Gotta love the economy. Congrats to all that got hired, look forward to working with all of you.

Thanks. It's okay, I'm not upset. It was a fun experience, made a bunch of friends, and I'll still be going to the event tons to take pictures of my friends, so it's totally cool.
Nah, those are masks in her picture. The bald girls are for a house, and I'm not sure where the bald guys are for (since I'm a girl, we weren't talking about the guys and the rumors for that, we were talking about ours.)
Ah, I see. My bad, I never knew they were masks. I thought they were balds guys in prosthetic. Re-track

They apparently only cast 7 people yesterday, so congrats!!! I was the 1198th person to audition this season, but I didn't make it (Though i figured it wouldn't since I told them I wouldn't be able to shave my head). Next year, though, I'll be auditioning earlier.
And, yeah.. my guess is the rest of the auditions might not happen. They were saying they were totally full and just looking for a few people (specifically guys and girls that would shave their heads. Heard rumors about why, but I'm not going to disclose because you'll be finding out soon enough. )
Sorry you didn't make it. Next year, earlier, definitely a good thing. Also, I think a quick look at Hush's profile picture might be able to tell everyone who all they had left to hire last night.

Congrats to everyone that has been cast thus far! I am getting married October 10th and am going to Horror Nights for my bachelor party opening weekend. Not very traditional I know, but definitely right up my alley.
Just be on the lookout for the madmonk t-shirt (my avatar)
Absolutely cannot wait for HHN this year :-)
Congrats on getting married, bro. Can't think of a better way to have the bachelor party then with some alcohol and a sh*t ton of scares. Or is it the other way around? Hmmm... Either way enjoy and I will be looking for the shirt.

I got cast!!! I was #512 and i got there at like 1:45, and it was flipping crazy, the line when i left at 7:45 or so, but im super excited to get cast and look forward to be scaring with yall in Sept/Oct, man it feels good to say that!!
Congrats Gator, as nervous and excited as you were to get cast, I am glad to here that you were. If you need anything, let me know. Let me be the first to welcome you to the HHN Family.

Same thing happened to me! I called HR today, they said they haven't been making calls and will resume calling people on Wednesday. So I guess either call them on Wednesday or wait to see if they call you.
They did finally call me back yesterday, but at 10:30 in the morning. I was like, "Don't they know people are usually at work at 10:30 am on a Monday, but I just call them back, so it wasn't a big deal. Me and Giant are on the same cast and it's a badass one to boot, so I am looking forward to working this year, as I do every year. But if I were you, if they don't call you tomorrow, call the information hotline on the paper they gave you after you cast. Not saying you have to, for those people that are going to say don't, that's just what I did. Real quick though, this will be my last year as I am joining the Navy in May 2011, so it's a good role to end on.

Fireman, it cut off your comment, so I gave HNN the hook up
Damn it did to, forgot about the little thing called 400 character limit. My bad. Appreciate it C_D.

For those of you that aren't on my FB, channel 13 news actually broadcast about the HHN auditions, and showed some video clips of HHNs of the past, mostly 2007. It was a nice way to start the morning while getting ready for work.
Couldn't find the video of the broadcast. I did, however, find the link for the article online. I answered the comments left by people on there and plugged Horror Night Nightmares so that everyone can come and get into the HHN experience. Here is the link:

Break a leg all you Noobs! Fresh Fish! Fresh Fish! Sorry couldn't help myself.

Yay I finally got my call! let's just say I'm all revved up for my role
Got my call as well and I am also revved up for my role.
-
Yes, I did and missed it as well. They mean business days, so expect one tomorrow.
Thanks Orphan, that's all I needed to know.
-
I'm in the same boat...still no call yet Hopefully Monday
That's what I was thinking too, Giant. Hopefully tomorrow, because Tuesday is another round of auditions and there is no telling how long it will be after that. Either way, I will have my phone on me.
-
Did anyone get a call, but missed it, and then got another one yet? I missed mine on Thursday and they said with in 48 hrs they would try again, but I don't know if that includes the weekend or not. Just wondering.

So, last year, did the FFP, this year was all excited because i was like YEA going to do the FFP again...AND i would have been able to go for my 20th birthday (Oct 20th) (Yes me and HHN grow old together) then i somehow got this insane idea to join the army.
I leave Oct. 19th
:( Oh well, atleast i will get to go once or twice.
I know how you feel, man. This will be my last HHN working and probably the last attending one for a while as I will be joining the Navy in May 2011. Send me a message with your info and let me buy you a beer before you ship out. Be safe brother.

Damn, #396, that's why I just woke up a few hours ago(day off) . Congrats to all! I got cast as well, but a few in my group didn't. Doesn't mean that those that this will be their first year and that haven't audition have anything to worry about. They are not turning away people already because they are running out of roles, so please don't think that. One girl had a cursing fit explaining her favorite part and had her phone go off in the audition room. Also, this guy approach the table. I have no words for this. Clearly don't do these things. Those that know me from the "previous forum" know that I love to use the Emoticons, idk why, but I really wish there was one that was a shaking head. Anyways, look forward to working this year and maybe working with some of you.
*EDIT*
Found one!

i find it funny how everyone keeps saying "Dont touch the tables"
and when i was auditioning last year someone in my group actually did it
and i was like huh so they actually do touch the tables hahaha
And he is still missed very much by his family and those that loved him most. RIP Person who touched the table.

You guys by far have given the best perspective as to what to expect. I for one have never done the process before so you guys answered a lot of questions that I had. So Thanks
Not a problem! As with C_D, just want to again wish everyone good luck and have fun!
-
Wonderful! Thanks! (: I will definetly make a triple note of NOT TOUCHING THE TABLE Keep fingers crossed for me!
No problem! and good luck to you!
-
Haha, yeah, I have been reading! Thoroughly! I was just wondering if anyone had any other advice! Thank you!
Be yourself. Unfortunately it is that simple. Wish they was some really cool and creative way, but for auditions, because it varies on what they want you to do, it's hard to say. My first audition they had us scare them, but my second, we were asked what our favorite part of HHN was. Then when you get hired and are on set, you can find your own way. But the best advice I can give has already been said and that's DO NOT TOUCH THE TABLE! Also, I would say that the ratio for success at the audition is 50%-Physical Appearance, 25%-Availability and 25%-Personality. I am sure some people will disagree with me, but again, it's only my opinion.

Yes, you should still have a good shot at being cast if you ask for 2 nights off. Obviously the more available you are, the more attractive of a applicant you become.
As far as using a sick night in order to attend the event..... do NOT do this. If they see you in the park you can and probably will be terminated.
Lastly, if you are cast as an Active Back-up, you will need to show up ready to work at least 5 nights in order to keep your employment with Universal (this number can and may change). If you are cast for FireCrew, you are expected to be there for every night that you said that you would be available. In most cases, FireCrew members only have a few (if any) days off.
Regarding the sick day, I did get that backwards. Take the day off on the schedule for the event and take the sick day to go to UF-LSU. Hopefully the higher ups are not at the game. . But as I understood it, this is a one time pass, but of course do it at your own risk and use common sense.

Maybe they can make some jokes about Gary Coleman, or have a look-a-like.

So, I have a question about auditioning, but not as an actor... if that makes sense. I'm a makeup artist, and I think I just might kill or at the very least maim to work the event. I filled out my application and sent it in last week, but I haven't heard anything yet. Does anyone know what their turnaround time is for technical positions? The audition date is the 13th for 'my people' so to speak, and I'm getting a wee concerned. Yes, there's a secondary date on the 20th, but if at all possible, I'd like to get in on the first date - I know they fill their technical spots quickly.
So, condensed - does anyone know approximately when I can expect someone to contact me?
Phoenix, I am not going to even pretend to know b/c I am a SA, but I would imagine that you won't hear anything until you audition. I know it gets pretty hectic now with auditions coming up once a week for the next few months. I remember when I got hired my first year, granted it was for SA, it was a pain in the balls trying to get a hold of someone or them returning my calls to figure out the next steps. I would try to see how much info I could get at auditions. Maybe someone else can shine some like who has worked the tech side? Maybe the have better communicators. Good luck! Hopefully you do my make up, so I can see whatcha got!
