So just popping in. Looks like everything I heard earlier is happening and that makes my heart happy.

I got express passes (I know I know hypocrite) just going the one night and no way I'd see it all otherwise.

I'll be at the event on the first night and I'm actually excited about for the first time in a long time!

Sorry I don't really know anything and can't remember everything that will be there but looks like a year to remember.

This is probably the wrong place.. so feel free to move it wherever mods...

I really hope you have a great time this year. I ran into you in line for a house a couple years ago and you gave me a wonderful little figurine.

Yeah, unfortunately HOS has taken a dive ever since they lost Scott Swenson. It's never a good sign when the two new houses from last year aren't returning this year (I can understand Undead Arena's departure, but scrapping Demented Dimensions is a total WTF.), and the two new ones are themes that have been recently done. (Asylum and Slaughterhouse)

Anyways, for HHN this feels like the year you'd wanna' return to. Heck, the lineup has convinced me to finally come in all the way from Seattle!

Yeah that really blew my mind. I mean bayou is coming back for its like 6th year now and we aren't getting demented dimensions back, which was the one house I really really enjoyed last year. Undead arena I have no problems leaving though. That house was laughably bad.

I hold out hope that the level of detail this year will make it worthwhile.  As for the actual houses, so far, I'm unimpressed.

IP....  Rinse... Repeat.  Welcome to Comcast.  It's HHN for the masses and as long as the general public knows it's based off a film, why do anything original?  In an odd way, it's the same thing that's happening to Broadway:  Just musicalize a movie that people know.  Original work be damned.

Um we are getting four original houses and only two of the scarezones are based off IPs. I would say you might be blowing it a little out of proportion there.

Has Universal ever used that type of tunnel over the past several years? With the number of people constantly going through the houses, I think it might be tough to use it.

Yeah they have used something kind of like this a couple times I believe. I think they used it in a house last year, but I can't remember what house it was exactly because I also remember after the first couple weeks it was deflated and it was just like walking down a hallway.

  4. I finally decided to go for FFP w/Express this year! After the long wait times last year, I wanted to be able to do all the houses every night I go and also be able to have time to just sit around and take in the event and spend more times wandering around the scare zones.

I chose Will Call for my pick up option. Can I go there any time and pick them up or does it have to be the night of the event? I have always ust printed them at home before so I never had to do this.

  5. 1. Freddy vs. Jason - I love Freddy and Jason. I loved both of their last houses. I can't wait to see them together!

    2. Blizzard - Two of my favorite originals together. Sounds amazing.

    3. Anniversary house - Can't wait to see what is in store for us with this.

    4. insidious - I like the movies and I always thought this would make an awesome house.

    5. Alice - I seem to be the odd one out, but I always like 3D houses!

    6. Run - Never got to experience the original run house so I guess the hype just isn't really there for me.

    7. The Purge - Still a little annoyed this isn't going to be scream, but I think it will be fine.

    8. AWIL - I like the first house a lot, but it wasn't my favorite house that year and I feel like I'm just not ready for it again yet.

    9. TWD - I actually really enjoyed the house last year and if they keep it up I'm sure this will be okay, but zombies are getting old for me. Even if this was just a generic zombie house I think it would be in the same spot.

This list was really hard for me to make because I am really excited about everything this year. Just because I put things at the bottom doesn't mean I am not excited to go through the houses. I always leave HHN having had so much fun and I know this year won't be any different. This is honestly the most exciting house line up for me in a while.

  6. Ive been feeling super depressed and introspective following the news that Scream has been scrapped and will be replaced with Purge. Now don't get me wrong, I'm sure the Purge house will be really good but I'm definitely going to be bummed out waiting in the queue for Purge thinking what could've been. Anybody in the same boat?

I guess I am too. I really am a big fan of scream. I always really like the tongue in cheek, not super serious feel to it all and I was really excited to see the house. That being said I am sure the Purge will be fine for a house and I'm sure it will be fun.

The only reason we knew scream got canned is that we knew that it was supposed to happen. The general public never even knew it was going to be a house and I think it will be fun to walk through and see what it could have been as the scream house. I think it will be fun to see a scene and be like "oh I see where that was going originally."

  7. Personally, I'm hoping we don't get Scream at all, but instead get a return of Scream House (02, 03, and 06).

As much as love scream, I think I would be okay with this. I always love the "dilapidated old house" houses. I just find them creepier than any other houses. That is why I loved Dead End so much and was even quite fond of the Legendary Truth house. The only Scream House I experienced was Scream House Resurrection in 2006 and I enjoyed it quite a bit. It would be cool to see it and the Caretaker again.

As far as the smoking situation goes, I am a smoker, I smoke in the areas Universal has designated for me to smoke in. I do this not only out of respect for the rules Universal has put in place, but also for the courtesy of others who do not want to be subjected to my smoke. Even as a smoker I don't like smoke going in my face and I even find the huge clouds of vapor from e cigs annoying in the lines for houses. Just keep it all in the smoking areas. That is what they are there for.

  8. NoES in 07 is my untouchable favorite house of all time. I was 11 at the time, and it terrified me to my core, to the point I forgot I was in a house. It felt real. I've never had that experience elsewhere, nor will that ever happen again. I've also wanted FvJ for a LONG time. So to see it actually happen, plus to see Freddy at the event again, makes me outrageously excited for this house. However, I felt the same towards AvP last year, and while not everyone will agree with this, AvP was probably the biggest disappointment I've ever had at the event. Partly due to my own overexcitement, but mostly because it just wasn't a house built for scares at ALL. It was incredible from an aesthetic point of view, but all HHN houses are in this day and age. I didn't jump a single time in that house. And I gave it 18 chances. Both casts, different parts of the night, etc. Nothing helped it.

I kind of felt the same way about AvP. My first time through the house was pretty awesome, but each time I went through after that I liked it less and less. The house to me felt more like an Alien house featuring Predator rather than Alien VERSUS Predator and I think that is really what did it for me.

I feel like if they can really pull off the versus part of this house and make it really feel like you are in the middle of a battle between the two, it will be awesome.

  9. I don't mind Jack coming back, but you can't compare him with the popularity of TWD. TWD was the best move they could pull off to get people in the park. Many of those people who are complaining about TWD repeating are just complaining because they want variety, not repeated properties (or they just don't like zombies). Furthermore, in my opinion, if someone is complaining about a repeat after going just 1 year, that's kinda ridiculous. If it's ok for them to complain, I'd imagine it's even more fair for the people who attended the 7 years when Jack was involved with the event.

That is a fair point. I honestly did not even look at it that way and really appreciate you helping me see it from a different perspective. I like Jack and don't mind him coming back in the slightest and it isn't fair for me to assume or expect everyone feels the same way I do.

  10. And just like TWD, those "ICONS" have been done to death, soooo, Jack is no different than TWD. Let's be consistant here please.

And here I thought that we where done beating on this dead horse once and for all.

Except the part where Jack hasn't been a huge part of the event for the past three years while Walking dead has been the center of attention, to the point where all our scarezones were replaced with walking dead one year, for the last three years.

Plus with how popular the event has gotten over the past few years there is probably a large chunk of people who have never experienced an event with jack and I personally think it is a good move, especially with how popular he has been in the past. I have gotten a couple of my friends to become HHN regulars over the past couple years and they are stoked to see jack because they have never seen him before, but even people whose first year was last year groan at the thought of walking dead returning once again.

  11. Got around to finally getting in this house tonight. While I thought a lot of the house felt, honestly, a little boring, I think it had some great scenes and I got two of the best scares I have ever gotten at HHN in this house tonight. The added length didn't do too much for me because it felt like a lot of the house was just going through looking at zombies in different environments. I have also not seen the show so I guess I have no real frame of reference for any of these environments. Even with it's fault I still think it is beter than the last two TWD houses.

  12. Dollhouse: Anyone in the ballerina room. Both times I went through I definitely felt like this was the most intense part of the house.

Halloween: All the Michaels, but especially the one behind the sheet and the one who sticks his hand through the wall towards the end.

Also, the girl in the car.

Giggle: The clown behind the mirror. Got me with the mirror gag, then again when I turned the corner.

FDTD: Anyone in the finale. When I went through it felt so fast paced and energetic. Awesome job.

Roanoke: The dude with no head got me good.

  13. I saw him both times I went through, but never saw him make use of the gag. Like others have said, he was just sitting there. It could make for a great scare if as people were walking by he lunged over the crib. I have never really seen the guy on the right do anything but get close to the bars of the crib either. If both of them used their scares in conjunction (like you walk in the room, see nobody in the left crib the guy on the right come at you. You focus your attention on him then from the left, which looked empty as you walked in, the other guy lunges at you.) it could be quite the startling room.

  14. Does anybody know what happened in Walking Dead last night around 10:30? We were waiting in line for a while, and after a while on the last stretch before we got into the house they had everybody turn around and exit the line. There was a firetruck passing by and I'm pretty sure the cast was evacuated.

  15. Resident Evil - I have been playing these games for years and love every single one of them, well I didn't LOVE 6, but it was alright. Once I founf out the house was being based off the second and third game this shot up right to my number one spot.

Cabin in the Woods - Liked the movie a lot and am ecstatic to see what they do with the facility.

La Llorona - always thought this was a cool idea when they started doing it in Hollywood and am very excited to see it coming to Orlando.

Walking Dead - Honestly wasn't excited for this house much at all until I saw the pictures of the prison sets. They look absolutely fantastic and I can not wait to see them in person.

Havoc - I unfortunately did not get to experience the first house, but what I have heard about it gives me high hopes for it. Plus the last picture in the first post of the Havoc thread seemed really interesting to me.

Afterlife - I've always liked the 3D houses. I thought they were fun, but I'm not sure how I feel about the theme of this house. I actually don't know how i feel about this house at all. I will just have to see once I get there. I'm sure it will be good though.

Evil Dead - Saw the movie, thought it was okay. i'm just not sure what the a house about it will be like. Guess I will have to wait and see.

AWIL - The only reason this is my least anticipated house is that I have not seen the movie yet. Once I get around to watching it I am sure this house will go up on my list.
