1. Legendary Truth - it reminds me of an awesome house I went to in LA 4 years ago, where it was a tour of a haunted house where the ghosts were all confined; until one of the ghosts walked thru the wall then it was a crazy race to escape them
2. Catacombs - the real place looks scary, plus this is my house.
3. Hades - LOVE Greek mythology
4. Horror Nights' - I have attended/worked the event out here since '07 so it will be awesome to see some of the older stuff I have missed (have not gotten to see anything with the story teller, Terra Queen....)
5. Orfanage - Love the fact that Cindy is getting her time to shine...plus kids are just creepy
6. Psychoscarepy - I was in the Asylum in Hollywood, so this holds a lil place in my heart, even tho my first experience was HFTH
7. Zombiegeddon - sounds like fun, but others sound scarier
8. Havoc - As others have said, it sounds like the Thing, and in '07 I skipped that house cause I didnt have time, so least anticipated
Having said all that. Every house (and scare zone) sounds awesome this year

There is a classic character that they might be referring to....a quite unsightly fellow who rings bells at a big church....don't quote me on it...just a thought
But that story taked place in 1482 and the Catacombs were sealed in 1534

That's odd I had been expecting "to see a character we have never seen before", but I had expected to see this fellow in another house.

What Jimmy said is true. You're comparing two years that are completely different. Back on topic, downloadable wallpapers and the event map should both be up real soon.
actually he said EVERY previous year, which to me seems to include last year, which means my comment was applicable to the conversation.

Also every previous year the Icon has taken front stage in preliminary advertisements - but this year we barely see Fear. My immediate guess is they do not wish to spoil his first appearance until after opening weekend when we will see him in his full glory.
After that happens it may well be that he will have a more prominent "in your face" presence on the site and other advertising. For those who can remember it - think of the Jack billboards in the year 2000. They very slowly built up the anticipation about just what was in that box until he was revealed in September closer to the start of the event. Then he was everywhere.
I just don't think we have the full story of what to expect this year, and so my gut reaction is that this isn't all the site will ultimately contain.
We will have to wait and see.
Not true. The Usher was used for 0 advertisements, he wasnt even on the corner of the billboard. And at the event itself you could even buy anything with him on it.
BUT I did drive past a billboard yesterday in downtown that has Fears teeth on it .

Im sure they dont want all the info released as we still have stuff to solve as the Collective. But they had to get this basic info out for the GP. As we solve more stuff im sure we will get character sketches and wall models

I feel the disaster house will be running from Zombies, not so much Eddie. I mean there is a zombie room that was leaked, but whenever anyone ever talks about that house, they seem to skip that room. Plus the ZED hint backs that up (I believe haha I could be wrong)

JW I really like the theory about LT being the one to lead us wrong and Universal being the ones to be trying to keep the Lantern under control. I think you're onto something
Wasn't it LT that summoned Bloody Mary and released her from the mirror while "investigating?" Maybe LT is just using us again to release more

The thing head is NOT a prosthetic or mask, so it is safe to assume no one will be wearing it. And also yes it still could be used in the Tent 2 (like they used the thing stuff in Creatures) it will not be a scaractor. I say it is not a mask because there are no holes in it to see out of, and although universal is good at hiding vision points, I have worn enough masks to know what to look for

Each picture would seem to be from a different house or zone, so whoever the dapper chap is, he is most likely NOT from any of the following: either SS 23 house, Sprung tent 1, Sprung tent 2, Jaws house, Parade Building house or San Francisco scarezone.
That leaves all the other scarezones and SS 22 and Disaster! houses.
THats right cause we are assuming the mummy is Tent 1 forgot about that
like i said... he looks like a new yorker
But doesnt NY have the Ice Queen? Which would be weird with that costume

So I had mentioned that I thought the steampunk guy on the website might possibly be the Dr from tent 1 (since we pretty much know nothing about this house). And I think the heart on the should strap would kind of support that.
Others started to say that he may be a jailer, from SS 23, because of something he has around his waist that we cant fully see. But if we get one pic per house/scarezone we already have the pic from the prison house (assuming it is the one with the windows that look like Shady Brook) it couldnt be that one.
Sorry just trying to get more pieces to the Tent 1 since that is the one we have the least amount of info about

Now some speculations about that mysterious fellow in the bowler hat. The only resemblance to last year's Victor Frankenstein is that he is also very much a Steampunk Chap. But we should not assume that just because Victor was Steampunk last year, that any and all Steampunk styled scareactors this year would also be Frankenstein!
There is in fact little in his costume to suggest this, it is brightly colored, rather than somber as Victor's was, and has nothing about it to suggest "mad scientist" rather the dapper mustache, monocle and vest with the shoulder holster and weapon of some sort strapped to the back suggest some sort of Steampunk adventurer. The bowler hat (with Steampunk goggles!) reminds me of a Scotland Yard Inspector, or maybe Dr. Watson. And what is that at his belt? Is it some sort of badge? Could this dashing fellow be some sort of Steampunk Detective? (If so, it could be that A&D at least are very appreciative of TheEyeOfHorus and have included an inside joke here in his honor!)
Sorry i guess I was vague. I was in no way intending to mean he was Dr Frankenstein or to imply Frank coming back. Mearly the steampunk look has a resemblance to Dr of last year, and we do know that Tent 1 has Drs cast there.

Like I said before... Maybe the tie-in is coming from the small nuances around the park last year (obviously carried over from HHN 18, to keep consistency). LITC was set in Carey, Ohio and the bus in Apocalypse was from there too. Universal usually does a good job to change stuff that doesn't fit a theme. And this must have been intentional. Little things will keep the fans connected.
With that thinking, then that must mean Jurassic Park must play a role in this years event, because they didnt take the time to cover the symbol on the side of the upside down jeep in Apocalypse. We would joke about that.
And the scarezone was thrown together last min last year, I have been told that from very reliable sources, and as firecrew last year we heard a lot of other stuff most other scareacters dont hear, because we are exposed to all the houses and scarezones. One bit of proof the scarezone was last min was that the 2 Cindy dresses didnt even match. They didnt have the time or enough of a specific fabric to make the two match so they just did what they could with such short notice. Red light just meant scary and dimly lit to mean, if you think hell...hey this is speculation we all have a right to our opinion, I just think that is reading too far into things
And as far as 2009 goes, didnt someone in A&D (Maybe Roddy?) mention that Julian Browning was conceived 3 years ago and they were just waiting for the right time to use him? Im not saying the whole event was planned 3 years ago, just the concept. I could be wrong, just thought I remembered reading that somewhere.
Also did anyone see the ad for universalorlandjobs.com in the Sentinel today? It has a picture of the lantern completely engulfed in flames, and it has the "icon flames" poking out too.
EDIT: This wasnt meant to be an attack on anyone, I do agree to a point...I mean it was cool to have LTC be from Carey and even have Dr. Agana's head in the house because her body was never found. So yes I do believe there are some ties.

The scarezone last year was a last min thrown together idea with very little planning. The red lights were just for creepiness, a way to light up the area without making it bright. The only colors to really make it creepy would be red or green, and green just wouldnt fit (especially since it was being used in Containment)
