  1. The first thing that comes to mind is the old EPCOT attraction! But more seriously Horizons indicates a farpoint, a line where the sky meets the sea or land as far away as the vision is able to determine.

    One thinks of 'Beyond the Blue horizon' to some fabled Shangri La, or the Event Horizon created by the gravitational force of a Black Hole. And what about the horizon dividing different planes of existence? Between dimensions in space and time, or between different levels of reality. Between the Worlds of the Living and the Dead.

    Just what is expected to be extracted from beyond the horizon?

    When I saw extraction, the first thing that came to my mind was the Graverobber in Repo extracting the Zydrate from the corpses.

  2. I somehow doubt that they would go back to Alice gain, rather if they decide to twist a childhood favorite, one that was already twisted already then thinking about these names...

    dwarfs or midgets, eggs - especially those laid by geese, green grass where you wouldn't expect it, brown teeth from eating something brown or very sugary, and a man wearing a top hat makes me think that we may find a ticket to a place of Pure Imagination.

    OMG this would totally be a view of Paradise....

  3. So in the spirit of SPECULATING I'm going to offer my two cents. I agree Lula. The names evoke a fairy tale sensibility. Also, I personally feel our three people in heaven clue points to a story teller. So I feel these roles may be fairy tale related and might be a new twisted take on fairy tales different from the Scary Tales franchise.

    Disaster Overflow Queue (B67)

    Woodteeth = Tooth Fairy

    Dwarf = This is an incorrect role title. The correct spelling is Dorf. This can mean many things. Dorf is a common word for midget but also means village in german. Considering the individuals cast for Dorf are above 6' tall I highly doubt it has to do with a short person (unless thats the point) so I think it might be Villager.

    Grass= Gnome

    Top Hat= Mad Hatter

    Love= Queen of Hearts

    Watch= This role is fake.

    Egg= Humpty Dumpy

    Even a lot of these sound like Alice. People forget all the characters that were in the books (i.e. Humpty Dumpty) and only focus on the characters from the Disney movie. Maybe the Dorfs could be the Tweedles since they are normal thought of as short and fat, but HHN has made them tall and skinny in the past. Plus the whole Queen of Hearts and deck of cards would work into the theme well. I was gunna say if the watch role wasnt fake it could have been the white rabbit lol. I just hope if they use anything Alice that they go in a completely different direction than Asylum or Scary Tales.

  4. The mobile web site does say " Face the odds and see if you've got a chance to survive Halloween Horror Nights 21."

    I would like the concept of Chance classing it up a lil as a Depression Era Casino girl. Not really a show girl, but more like a costume like a cigarette seller or waitress or magicians assistant. I don't think she will be the icon, but it would be cool to see her helping out, and get her story over her own. I mean the drastically changed our view of Cindy last year when we found out she was adopted by Albert Caine, but the new story still fit with the story we already knew.

  5. Asylum - An absolute classic maze. I remember writing a review way back when that stated "Dear Knotts, THIS is how you do an Asylum maze." Asylum was your standard "inmates have taken over" maze - but done with laser precision. Will anyone forget the body strapped to the wall with syringes stuck in every possible location, yet the person's arms and head are thrashing about? And the little Christmas scene? That house was one of the best I have seen on either coast - in my top 5. Yet, what did they do the veey next year? They slapped Freddy in the house while leaving all the props in place. Presto - from first to worst. It just didn't work at all. And from the Department of Redundancy Department, we have seen the premier room (shock therapy) repeatedly reused every single year since with hardly any attempt to freshen it up.

    Notice how little content there was in 2006 compared to today. We're up to, what, 5 houses plus a Terror Tram? Sounds like it should be kicking major butt. The point is that Terror Tram is a shell of what it used to be, HoH has never worked, and not a single house has matched what Asylum delivered. A few have come close: TCM and F13 in 2007, Halloween, MBV, and HOTC. But that's about it. This year, rumors are that we can "look forward to" Scream (which tanked at the B.O.), Trick R Treat (which 1% outside of this board has seen or heard of), maybe a return of the Rob Zombie house (meaning yet more recycles). And the latest rumors are an Exorcist house (how that translates into a house is way beyond me) and Amityville Horror. Why? Because the lead of Creative gets all squishy inside when it comes to horror movies. Now, I know for a fact that two of those themes (Amityville and Trick R Treat) presented in a generic format DO work. Orlando already did both, Legendary Truth and The Hallows. Both were incredible houses. Who would have thought that an old fashioned no-gore haunted house and another based on Halloween folklore would be scary, original, and successful? Somehow, I don't see the same outcome by slapping a movie title on them.

    I know that it is so many years later, but I smiled just reading this. I was in the Asylum and absolutely had a blast, with such an awesome cast. And if you cant tell by my screen name I was the psycho who threw the guy on the wall and put the needles in him haha. I am so happy that 5 years later, that was still a remembered room. I havent been back to Hollywood since, and unfortunately it doesnt really seem like I have missed much, especially since Ihave worked with Orlando for 3 years and may have been spoiled now. But it is def awesome to see the character I helped bring to life (even tho he was based on a real person eek) is still remembered :-)

  6. I threw a shoutout to you in the shoutout thread. I was wearing a vault shirt, and holding a black and white stuffed cat. You snapped the movie-thingy at me, then went around the back to where I've NEVER gotten a scare before (I guess that's where you enter your area) and you popped out, snapped the movie-thingy again and shouted "SCENE!" I about crapped myself, and jumped up a few meters into the air XD. You said "Haha, I scared a vaulter!" That sir was one of the best house scares I've ever gotten, and one of the most entertaining. Thanks.

    [/quote

    That wasnt me :-( I played the role on Fri and Sun. But I did the same thing with the double scare

  7. Shoutout to Alice for being generally awesome again, to Mary Shaw for actually getting me for once (That was an awesome scare!) and scare of the night goes to the guy with the straight jacket/metal mask like thing (I'm sure that he's from psychoscareapy, but I know that he's from somewhere else as well) and the cheerleader. Crazy man intercepts me trying to cut on the right side of one of the props...matches my steps, and starts walking at me so I back up. Then out of the blue, the cheerleader waves her pompoms on the sides of my head and it freaked me the hell out XD. She had a nice conversation with my stuffed cat.

    I was Mary Shaw that night, so there is a possibility that it was me :-) Also the guy in the straight jacket is an assistant to the Body Collector. He is the one who actually kills, then the Body Collector comes and...well...collects the body haha

  8. That always irks me.. Like taking a young child into a scary movie and then scolding them for crying.

    Oh BTW did you get what you needed? you're message box is full.

    I will not be at HHN this Friday (going to HOS for the first time) so I will probably bring all my buttons left over on the following Friday... Including a couple usher and bloody Mary buttons... because I'm fairly sure it will be my last visit. so come find me and claim a button on the 22nd.

    Ummm...I want an Usher button lol. How does one acquire them?

  9. I recorded and posted a video on Youtube of the roaming drill team...doesn't give them 100% justice, but I think it's a neat little clip. It was filmed opening night, right after the gates let in the mainstream folk.

    yay I was in therelol

  10. you say that now until you get decked in the face and you NEED one of them.

    also, they usually tend to be attraction attendants/leads.

    edited to add: I'd talk to your ASM/SM about any problems you may have, including ops. I had to in Cleaver last year and it was fixed pretty fast.

    I was almost hit before and they were useless, I had to just handle it myself by getting security at the exit.

    And my biggest complaints with them are:

    I was a guest one night and told to move faster while there was someone in front of me and i couldnt move faster

    And when they are in a room with me, they get flashlight happy and blind me or reveal Im there.

    Plus if the problem gets fixed, then they just rotate in the house and the problem starts all over again
