  1. K so I was poking around the HHN Orlando site cuz well I was bored after checking for updates...but anyway I dunno if someone saw this before or if its common knowledge, anyway so I was looking at the audition page ( http://universalaudi...do/schedule.asp ) and on it they are auditioning stilt walkers. Am I gonna get my wish and have the Terra Queen show up?? FINGERS CROSSED! Oh and if anyone saw this before I'm sorry...I didn't see anything when I ran a search of the forums. :otis:

They audition for stilt walkers every year. There were stilt walkers in the Cirque Du Freak last year & in various other places the year before. Every time Universal has an audition for some event whether it be HHN, Mardi Gras or Macy's, they ask for stilt walkers...

  2. Well since the title of that piece of music is roughly "Day of Wrath" maybe the Gods are giving these icons one last time to wreak havoc. One thing I noticed about that scarezone in particular was how crowded it was with Icons. Possibly the red lighting could be relating to them being confined in hell just waiting for the chance to be let out. I mean Jack was pacing like a caged dog on the fire escape. Maybe what we should get from that scarezone was how immersive it really was. You were literally surrounded by hhn's past.

Haha I think part of his pacing was because he wasn't able to speak. I like that idea though. Though, Cindy & The Caretaker had free roam. I always though that meant something.

  3. Well, I was just thinking about the audio recording at that scarezone. I find it funny how Mary, Elsa and Paulo were the ones not present at the event, but in audio. Is it possible that Universal KNOWS they are using these three next year (despite the problems with BM, not touching that) and had the remaining icons, jack, cindy, albert and jullian on scene to promote them, THEN see which ones the General Audience most approves of? I was wondering this because honestly, what is a reunion year without Mary Elsa and Paulo? They seem to be some of the crowd favorites, even though there are not THAT many icons.

It's my understanding that the GA approves of Jack the most, though die hard fans mostly don't. I agree there's a lot to the audio we're missing & I still don't understand why The Usher was even in the SZ since he wasn't really present. Besides the icons, what do you think all the other actors in the SZ mean?

  4. Dr. Jimmy, Michael did say "It's all in the audio." to a guest when they asked why Bloody Mary, Director, and the Storyteller weren't there, right. I think I remember him saying that somewhere along the lines when someone asked why they weren't there. So if you look at it in an abstract way, the scenic and actors were there in the SZ, but the audio was the main clue to HHNXX.

HHNAmber, about the vortex: I heard our tour guide on our UTH Tour that HHN has been on a contract with having to use the vortex every year at HHN. I think they've been using it since 06, mabye earlier than that. I think the "vortex" listed on the scene name permits was the same old vortex used in Chucky, IT, ect. But if they have the vortex in the house to be possibly themed toward another Dungeon or "Years Past", that probally means no 3-D/funhouse.

I heard the same about most of the clues being in the audio, but not all. I still think people took/take the SZ too literally & need to step back & look at differently.

About the vortex, they're on contract to use a prop? That seems weird, idk. I have no experience with 3D houses either. I'm not even sure I fully know what that means...

  5. The music from The Shining mentioned earlier by Dinah is an arrangement of the medieval Dies Irae (Day of Wrath) a Gregorian chant about the Final Judgment of God upon the wicked. "Day of Wrath on that Day the World will be reduced to ashes."

It is quite likely that on that Day some people may find themselves in "Hades".

More to the point, many may not realize this, but Dante included many Greek Mythological figures and ideas about Hades in his Christian Hell in The Inferno. Including the River Styx, The guard dog Cerberus, and interesting enough the Gorgon, Medusa!

The house in question may in fact be an adaptation of Dante's Inferno, rather than one devoted only to Greek Mythology. And even if it is strictly Greek, it could also be a representation of Hades.

This would make it a follow-up to previous "Hell Houses" such as the original Doomsday from 1999 and Dark Torment from 2000.

I've been thinking about this since you posted it. If that's true then the audio clip from last year COULD have been a clue to this Mythology type house if that is indeed what it is.

On another note, I'm still curious about this vortex. Is that like the thing that was in Chucky or something different?

Yeah, I'm pulling for straws. I got nothin new.

  6. Have you been able to use your FFP for opening weekend every year? Isnt it usually like the last weekend they add? I know this isnt comfimed and I could be wrong but someone please explain.....Thanks!!

I don't know about every year since last year was my first year having one, but last year I was able to go the first Thursday & Friday. They also opened up the last weekend to pass members too.

  7. I didn't get a chance to go that year, but could this greek stuff possibly have to do with the Terra Queeen instead?

I'm still waiting for a reply to this question since I'd like to know too. I didn't go that year either (my first year was 2008) so I don't know much about her story & whatnot. They may be totally unrelated, I honestly don't know.

    What's the Offical event name?

From what I read it was "Halloween Horror Nights XX" as for a subtitle, I don't know.

  8. But, I am troubled by a couple of things. First, back at that time every rumor flying about said "10 houses" except for that one weird post which said 8 houses. Then TJ confirmed 8 houses after all.

One of my roommates works overnights at UO/IOA & came home the other day & told me that they have started construction for HHN in parts of UO. This, turned out to be true. However, my roommate also told me there was going to be 10 houses. I somewhat believed him only because he isn't big into HHN and doesn't go searching for rumors & news. On the other hand, I don't because well, it's been confirmed & he mainly works in IOA & is rarely in UO to see/hear anything first hand. Though I will be asking him to keep an eye out from now on! Even if his "news" is false, any news right now is good to me. I'm a speculator at heart.

  9. Well actually, it was in 2008 that we, or rather I should say, Chad first got the actual house names from the permits and posted them online.

The only time we ever got code-names for the houses was last year.

This year the permits do not even seem to have any code-names, and if there are any they were blocked by Potter's Law.

What Chad has now uncovered are not house names nor code names for houses, bur specific descriptions of specific rooms or scenes in some of the houses. These include some generic terms like "facade" but also some tantalizing descriptions indeed. As Jeramy posted above these are not likely to be encoded because they never thought we would ever see them, they are rather far more likely to be exactly what they appear to be.

Which leads me to this: Greek Mythology aside, what sort of house would contain a Museum Hallway? A Museum of Horror was often a house in early years of HHN. What house would contain both a Vortex and the Rat Lady? Dungeon of Terror perhaps? And most puzzlingly what sort of house would have an observation deck? The old Frightanic house from 1998?

The more I ponder these the more I realize how closely this information fits in with what that strange trollish Dr. Raymond Holmes Inc. posted a while ago. Maybe that wasn't "you know who" as we all thought then after all!

I think I saw your video about this list. This all happened while I was away from the vault. Boo. But I will agree, as soon as I saw these scene names pop up today & read the Medusa/Gordon part the first thing that popped into my mind was this list & the part about Hades. That seems to make sense. So maybe there was indeed a bit of fact to that list. With that said, like I mentioned earlier last year was only my second year so for me to think that UO might bring back some houses or house ideas that people on this forum seem to agree were some of the best, makes me excited. Gives me hope that I might be able to see a new generation or re-vamp of past favorites. I took wish I had a DeLorean so I could visit the HHN past. ANY house with ghosts is bound to scare the crap out of me as ghosts are a big fear of mine. (Not so much the friendly ones, but more like the scary demonic types.)

    /end ramble

  10. Forgive me, I'm new. I don't know how to quote...haha. But, I agree. I remember reading somewhere during HHN last year during the last week to look closer for more clues. It always made me think that what was on the surface wasn't necessarily to be taken at face value & perhaps was a metaphor of some sort that we'll be clueless to until HHNXX. Or perhaps I'm wrong. I just don't think that UO would flat out give us all the info for next year with a scarezone at the end of the run. There has to be some twist to it that perhaps we aren't seeing.

  11. Hokay. First post here. Hey, hi & whatnot. I pretty much spent all day yesterday reading this entire thread to catch up and find out what's going on since...the other place is on hiatus? Anyhoo, I for one, was ecstatic to even get a small glimpse into this years event with the scene names. They could be a throw off, they could be dead on, but either way it's something to ponder.

Now, I'm all for mythology, because aspects of it are in fact creepy, but how could mythology tie in to a reunion/scrapbook/family tree/etc.?

I'm somewhat of an HHN n00b still. Last year was my second year but the first year I got to experience it more than once, so forgive me for not being up to par with my HHN history.

Also, I rather liked the family tree idea & the idea of Hypnos/Morpheus. Anything has to be better than last year right? I mean, don't get me wrong, I enjoyed last year. I just feel they dropped the ball in some areas (costuming & makeup mainly...)

    Anyway, there's my 2 cents & they're probably lame. =]
