  2. i was looking at the fear picture and I was thinking, all those roots on his head, is he directly connected to the lantern? or, is he supposed to come from the earth, the ground? like dug out?

I wonder is he going to carry the lantern around the park?

Also, I was reading the catacomb house info, and, is this an infected house like containment or a ghost house, because they say 500 years later, makes it sound like the infected is going to rise after being trapped, so that would make 3 ghost houses?

If you have been following LT, I think they basically say that Fear was summoned from the lantern, I think, by the five icons. He has the appearance of thorny branches. I looked for a quote, but I'm sleepy and couldn't find it. Heh.

  3. I think people were expecting a little too much. Sort of like when I played Halo 2 for so many years, I got extremely hyped and crazy for Halo 3, and it sucked. I think the biggest factor in why it sucked was because I was expecting so much.

I love the update, and the biggest factor is probably the fact that I wasn't super crazy hyped for it like I have been other things lately. If you were really hyped for it, I could see why it would be a letdown. But for someone whos thought process this whole time was "oh cool, an update is coming up :)" and not "OMG NEW UPDATE ADKGHKSJDGHKSJDHKA" I must say I am satisfied.

Exactly. I was excited but I had put it out of my head until today because I didn't have time to sit and anticipate. Plus, I've learned that if you look forward to something enough, it'll just end up disappointing you because your expectations are too high. Haha. Which is basically just rewording what you said.

    Halo is meh anyway. =p

  4. Um...ok.

It looks...pretty good. Some of the houses sound interesting...Hades, especially. But where is the evolutionary leap? Where is that "Oh My God!" that I was assured would be there? It seems, more or less, like any other year to me. The only thing that sounds any different at all is the stage show. Bringing all the icons together has been done before, though (except for Julian, who, let's face it, no one really wanted to see again). We've also had demonic characters, Nightmare and Darkness. I suppose sacrificing the icons to the lantern and the "Revelation of Fear" will get some mileage...but how exactly can Fear be revealed over and over and over again? And are we going to see the icons destroyed every 90 minutes, 3 times nightly?

Something is missing here. Even the website seems kind of basic. It's just "Here it is". No clickables, no story, just "Fear".

I mean, not that it's BAD, but it isn't blowing my mind or anything. I would be lying if I didn't say I felt just a WEE bit disappointed.

It seems there should be something more. Hm. Perhaps I'm just being curmudgeonly. The Cindy house sounds great, too bad it's in the JAWS queue.

But I still can't shake the feeling that something isn't right...

I've heard this response from a few other people as well. How long have you been attending/following the website?

I think for me, the reason I'm so excited is that I only have the last two years to compare it to & this is the first year I've been fully involved from start to finish. I also get scared easily and I viewed the update alone in the dark with my friends on Skype.

Perhaps maybe if you have more years of experience with HHN that's why you're disappointed. You have more expectations because you have more from the past to compare it to. Just a thought.

  5. Finally woke up to look at the site update. I'm excited for HHN but this web update was completely anti-climatic to me. One of the weakest web sites that Universal has had in a while. Most of the houses and scare zones do sound really good though so I'm anxious for the event to start. I guess I was just hoping for more inter-activity on the site rather than just s simple house / zone listing. And when will the event map be up?

I think there is still more to come for the website. I may be wrong, but we've still got time. =]

I enjoyed the update a lot. It's dark and mysterious and still leaves us with an element of surprise. It's gives people just enough to leave them wanting more, which is brilliant to me.

  6. I am extremely excited about everything I've seen so far. This is the first time in the short amount of years that I've been attending that I've been this scared for the event. When I first saw the video of Fear himself talking, I almost cried. I have witnesses, haha.

I'm happy that they chose to go in the direction that they are going. Rather than just give us a rehash anniversary year, they opted for new and exciting. If this is any indication of years to come, I can't wait.

I would say that I'm especially excited to see certain houses/scarezones but they all seem exciting to me in some ways. The houses that stand out the most to me though are the Orfanage, the LT house and the Hades house. I also want to see what's lurking in Psychoscareapy and the Hallow'd house. The scarezones look AMAZING, just my style.

This year is dark, mysterious and full of Fear. It's already shaping up to be my favorite. I can't wait for Employee Preview Night. Just a little under 30 days to go.

  7. Hey guys, I decompiled the new site and made a short video of all the videos that pop up on the new site update.

They're pretty hard to see on the site so this should be easier to view. It gives us a tiny sneak peek to what's inside of the houses.

Awesome, thank you for that. The images definitely make the houses look more intense. I'm so excited for everything I've seen so far.

  8. I am free to reveal that I had heard from THREE different sources that the facade for 22 was the Screamhouse. Apparently those individuals saw a Victorian Mansion and couldn't tell the difference. But later rumors about LT investigations began to lead me in the correct direction.

Yes, I admit that my lack of knowledge about the event and trusting the words of everyone around me who does know more lead me to believe this was a Caretaker house. I apologize for the misinformation, Jimmy.

  9. As I falling asleep earlier, I was thinking to myself that I can't believe how everything has been in front of our faces the entire time.

"Twenty Years of Fear" suddenly makes more sense to me now than it ever did.

The faces of the icons dancing around in the flames suddenly makes more sense to me now too.

    Suddenly everything just clicked.

Either way, this year is already poised to be my favorite out of the few that I've attended.

On another note, how does what we know now relate to the Shadows of the Past scarezone? WAS that just a red herring?

  10. Off topic.

Who is excited to see the water/beer vendor man this year?

    "Ice cold beer and water!"

    Anyone? I know I am.

    Back on topic.

I love that guy. Almost as much as I love the dancing security guard.

"ICE COLD BEEEEEEE-ERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!" Gotta love it. I hope he's there again this year.

  11. Yep, not to long now. But most information will be out by the end of this month. Once rehearsals start, there won't be anything to hide anymore. Those begin I believe the first week of sept. So as said, I see the next few weeks to be pretty jam packed with good stuff.

I was told that the first rehearsal date is September 12th. So about a week & a half before the event starts.

  12. that would be nice... I know I and a few others have notebooks and photos and such... but I dont think anyone has put it all together in a neat little pile. I have video of the big meeting in the hms theater and the jaws trip....

I would just like to be more acquainted with LT & with what happened last time so I know a little bit about what to expect since I didn't get to participate last time. I'm sure a lot of people would like to see a virtual record. =]

  13. I know this is off topic & will probably get deleted, it's okay. I don't know where to ask.

Does anyone has like...a record of LT from 08? Not the website, but a record of the events that happened? I can't formulate my question properly, my brain just blanked out. Hopefully someone understands my randomness.

  14. Yeah, given that the Facebook post seems to imply that the "first photos" will be released after this weekend, it seems that I was wrong and that they aren't actually the photos from the website. At least we have something to look forward to next week!

I'm really glad we have a lot more communication with LT staff this year.

Yeah, that seems to be the cast. I'm excited about it. I didn't get to participate last time so this is all new to me, but it's already something I can see myself obsessing over. I love puzzles & logic games. Hopefully they'll wait till Wednesday to update so I don't miss out. =]

    Wishful thinking...

  15. New Facebook post:

LegendaryTruth - The Collective (Official) Forensic analysis of photographic evidence discovered and referenced in redacted email has resulted in the search and discovery of additional digital files heretofore unknown. Final review of first photos will be completed over the weekend; release immediately upon authorization by Senior Staff. Additional digital files to follow same process.

    Ignatia Himmel, Esq.

    Senior Executive Counsel

So does this mean that we'll get to see these photos after the weekend? I hope so. I also hope these photos aren't the photos currently on the HHN site, although I don't think they are.

Too bad I will be away from my computer Sunday-Tuesday.

  16. it is all past years stuff mostly im beting beyond the scenes part of the site was removed because it reveals this year's event too soon ahead of it's time. all of it has noting to do with this year's theme at all. the lattern is the theme of halloween in genreal meaning all sort of hell is about to be unleashed this year. so the frist house we know of is 1000 corpses. that house is a hellish house. im beting a return of shadybrook this year for the last time. a return for the skoolhouse also for last time. those two are likely to return this year.

House of 1,000 Corpses is in Hollywood, not Orlando. Thanks.
