  1. That would be awesome! It's a great ride and it would really suck up the crowd with people who don't have park passes for the day.
  2. The rides listed are only the ones open during HHN. It makes sense that a Minions ride isn't open during an adult event. Just like Shrek was never open during events. Minions will surely be open during the day...thought Shrek I don't know about. Not sure it they're demoing it or remodeling it and if the other theater will be open (sure if you search the topics you'll find the answer, I'm just guessing).
  3. Again, you could do this.... Merging the Acid Assault scarezone with the Penn & Teller house.....have Universal be nuked. All the buildings are decaying and collapsing through the awesome projection technology. The houses, all original or "takes" on previous ones, have a similar green haze and nuclear mutants overrunning them. The park, built on an an ancient native american burial ground, has mutant "indians" overrunning the park. Great cohesion....70% attendance drop. People aren't going for a cohesive story: Case in point. NINE different TWD houses, each focusing on a pivotal moment of the 6th season plus the park overrun by zombies. Nobody here would go (well, we all would, but we'd bitch for 5 straight months....) but the general public would eat it up. Do the flip side....9 ORIGINAL houses! Stuff you never heard of! All based on a single thing, a nuclear attack on orlando! We'd all be thrilled, and nobody else would give a crap. Wishing for a fully cohesive event and/or all original content is like wishing Apple will send us all free iMac's. Not gonna happen and horrible business sense. Never going to happen EDIT - fixing some of the moronic typos from posting via tablet
  4. I know we all love themes and over all cohesion, but does anybody actually ever say "wow, that house didn't fit with the event?" I always laugh at those comments...especially since everybody HATED the year that the whole part was zombies and provided the most cohesive atmosphere possible. I don't even want to throw the GP under the bus...I think most of us, at the actual event and not sitting in front of our laptops months out, can go from a house where it's snowing, out to a 90 degree Florida day, to a fall trick or treating scarezone, to a house that takes place in the desert and not really "be taken out of the moment". If leaving dracula's castle and going into a florida themepark packed with 10s of thousands of people and 3 hour lines doesn't take you out of the theme....then you're certifiably insane. I don't see how a winter house can possibly be any more jarring than that. Let alone the fact you're in an old deserted castle....in a conga line with a few hundred other people OK, enough bitching, but the newest construction pic suuuuure looks like Wickerman to me!
  5. I'm sure there is...or at least was. Nothing is set in stone this year it would appear.
  6. You'll find out a midnight with the rest of us...or you'll watch a video at midnight that has nothing to do with anything, and again, with the rest of us
  7. Freddy vs Jason - Just because.AWiL - didn't go the first year, so really exciticed to see if it lives up to the hype for me.Blizzard - Photos just look awesome coupled with A&D's excitement.Alice 3D - I unapologetically love the 3D houses. If I can get a room with huge/tall 3D painted mushrooms with anybody/anything on stilts with a ridiculously oversized tophat on that would be incredible. The Walking Dead - Don't expect any super scares or magically different zombies, but the water zombies sound VERY interesting and I love the show. Hoping to go into the church and see the aftermath of the beatdown. Hoping to see stuff from characters that have died (not posting any ideas for those behind on the show).Icon House - These have been my most anticipated house before...and failed to live up to my expectations. They're a bit tempered this time. The Purge - if it wasn't a rush job, this would be much higher up my list.Run - This has the highest risk, highest reward. Never did a run house, but keep hearing how it can't work with the conga lines we have now. So down my list (ie not getting my hopes up) but has the potential to shoot up the list if can capture some of the old feel everybody loves.Insidious - Have no interest in the movies, could end up being my favorite house. Who knows?------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Post full reveal edited list: Freddy Vs JasonAWILRunBlizzard25 Years of Horror / Icon HouseAlice 3DTWDThe PurgeInsidiousThe description and excitement around Run really influenced my updated list. Same with the Icon house...I thought it was going to be another warehouse type thing, this sounds much better. Scarezones: Scary Tales: Speampunk. I LOVED the demented Wizard of Oz zone years ago, hope this is similar.Icons. Just a glorified photo op, but for someone like me who loves to take pictures, always one of my favorites.Evil's Roots. Central Park is always one of the darkest, foggiest, best lit zones so I'm really looking forward to it.Psychoscarapy. Would have preferred this zone just to be slightly demented trick or treaters. LOVE the decorations, not sure what I'll think of the scaractors in the zone yet.All night Die In. I'm usually underwhelmed by this area, but if they have characters in full black/white/gray outfits and makeup, this could be pretty cool.
  8. The dinner buffet sounds really cool...like a Disney Princess Dinner for adults Too bad I don't fly down until the 30th.
  9. Zoom does you no good in that low light...better to use the zoom God gave you: your feet It's my first DSLR so I just got a D3200 and I think the fastest lens I can get is the 1.8. Awesome picture...I love the look of the dilapidated gazebo...especially if there are flames flying out the bottom!
  10. Thanks! I've been looking at a Nikkor 35mm F1.8 and it's definitely in my price range. Might just have to pick that up and put that, my 18-55mm zoom and 10-24mm wideangle in the my bag (shoudln't need my 55-200mm for anything).
  11. Edit: This weird thing with the forum not allowing you to QUOTE replies or post new ones really needs to be fixed, it's making my comments look dumber than they really are...and that's not easy to do!
  12. Maybe it's just me, but something about the "posters" just screams Bioshock to me. No inference that we're getting it...or another Saws N Stream clone or anything. Just the artistic aspects of it instantly remind me of Bioshock...which I haven't played in probably 5 years and can't think of a specific reason why. BTW, I love them. I also love Photo Op zones. And 3D houses. Come to think of it, most of the stuff I really like are the things most others hate. Ha ha ha. ------------------------------------------- Edit - mostly off topic, but not sure where else to put this. I've gotten into photography the past year and got a DSLR camera and 3 lenses that I'd like to use to take some pictures at Horror Night. I know how strict they are at the front gate, but I also have Universal day tickets to go to the "holding pens" so I don't think there'd be any problems getting my gear in. No tripod, no flash photography, etc. Anybody who posts the awesome pictures each year have any input for what kind of trouble I might expect or any tips? My camera bag is a decent sized backpack and was thinking of maybe picking up something a little smaller like a LowePro DSLR bag that hold just 2 lenses.
  13. I LOVE the tacky decorations! Why? Because the set pieces aren't necessarily to create a sense of violence or horror, but at atmosphere. I think to trick or treating when I was a kid, and that's exactly what people had! So that makes the area more realistic to me than corpses impaled on a stake. They're nice to look at and are horrific...but streets dressed up for a traditional halloween with something horrible occurring there through the scareactors and lighting and sounds will put me me much more at ease as it feels like I'm in a familiar place. I think it's extremely effective and if they can save a few bucks to dump into another area, it's money well spent. While I wasn't a huge fan of it (I got what they were trying to do and think the humidity when I was down there kinda wrecked it) the swinging chainlink fence scarezone a few years ago had almost no decorations other than the fences and cloth...but it didn't need anything else. The minimal design perfectly suited what they were trying to do, so why throw money at something for the sake of doing it when it doesn't need it?
  14. I'm planning on doing BOTH BTS tours, so thats 6 houses...so scream being cut out at the last minute makes me hope that The Purge isn't going to be included on the tours as it's too last second. I'm really hoping for: FvJ TWD (LOVE the show, so seeing it recreated with the lights on is awesome, regardless of the quality of going through it live) Blizzard (The picture they posted is awesome and hoping the rest is of a similar vein) And AWiL Alice in Wonderland (I for one love the 3D houses and photos of them still "work" with the glasses at home...got some great pics of Penn & Teller) And....I guess Insidious? They seem to always do 2 IPs and 1 Original (at least for 2 years I've done) Would be soooo happy if they made one tour be 2 originals and 1 IP. Like in my second lineup replacing Insidious with the Anniversary House. That has to be on a tour, right? So i'm guessing Alice is out :-( Anybody heard any rumors about the contents of the two different tours?
  15. Ha ha ha, I was just making fun of how movies do stuff like that now, like "Fant4stic Four" I'd love for my "Run 3: Run Harder" joke to happen and have a bald white guy in a bloody white tank top with a busted up nose chasing after you with Christmas in Hollis blasting in the background.

  17. TOTALLY off topic, but just wondering.... Scary Movie and stuff are exempt from copyrights due to satire...same for Weird Al Yanovick, he's legally protected for parody. There HAS to be some kind of legal precedent for "tributes/interpretations/ect" like this for HHN, right?
  18. What if you're RUNing from the Body Collectors or something crazy like that? I've never been through a Run house so I have no context. But it would fit both the majority and HHN Matt in that it's a house with two previous houses combined. Just spitballing and not trying to start a flame war.
  19. I for one am happy that Purge is replacing Scream. I loved the scare zone and like variety in the scareactors of the houses. While Halloween was awesome, it was still the same masked costume in every room. I feel like Scream would have been similar. Not bad per say, just repetitive...even moreso than everybody's favorite whipping boy TWD. At least there's some variety in the zombies (that's half serious, half a joke). I HOPE they didn't re-purpose the bread truck from last year yet! I want a post house scare, where you come out from the house and off to the side is the bread truck and periodically the back door flies open and the Gatling gun is in there blasting away.
  20. That would have just been a generic zombie house to us...seeing as to how the show hasn't even aired yet. Also, from what I understand, the first season takes place while Rick is in a coma so it's just the world coming to terms with this "strange occurrence". I'm sure half of the season is the guy running down the street with his shirt open trying to convince the cops that the dead are rising and them not believing this troublesome teen with a rapsheet. It has that vibe written all over it, along with the family trying to reunite and flee this pandemic that only they seem to fully comprehend. And the main character talking a lot of science mumbojumbo since he's a teacher. Also I believe they aren't allowed to use the characters from TWD so I doubt they'd be able to use the ones from Fear....so again, it would just zombies and random people. While I'm not the biggest fan of the TWD houses, I love the show and enjoy the houses because I like to see how they re-created the show. FTWD would have been really disappointing in opinion. Though next year, after we've seen the full first season and know how the story progresses and where the characters go and any "signature" zombies they may encounter (again, it's right when the outbreak happens that I assume most zombies look "normal" as they haven't had a ton of time to decay yet), I'd certainly welcome the house as a change of pace while still using the Dead IP.
  21. You can count on The Walking Dead for a 5th straight year, if Crimson Peak is a hit in Hollywood that could come to Orlando. This year, it's not like Freddy, Jason, Scream (yes, I know, I've read the last 5 pages), or AWIL had a new movie so anything is possible. Sinister, Insidious, and Paranormal Activitiy will all have their yearly sequels. Saw is supposed to be rebooted as is Nightmare on Elmstreet. The Halloween series is supposed to get a Michael Myers sequel. Horror movies by their very nature are cheap to produce and open to big numbers, there's no shortage of IPs to come in the next decade. With the passing of Roddy Piper there's renewed hope of a They Live house, in loving tribute to him, that I know a bunch of people other than myself have been hoping for. As usual, everything I say has 0% insider information behind it...just speculating.
  22. Are we sure it's the "rights holders" and not legally binding info in the contract between MTV and IP owners that during the XX months of the show, or as long as they are producing the show, that no other entertainment medium may use the Scream IP so as to negate/counter/confuse their story? That sounds a lot more logical to me. Where Universal negotiated with Dimension Films (or whoever owns it...I'm at work and not looking up anything for accuracy) who agreed to the house, all in good faith...and then MTV/Viacom/whatever production company found out and said "We legally have the sole ability to release anything with the Scream Franchise IP". That is quite common in big corporations and can lead to some costly scrambling and changes (been there, done that).
  23. I don't know what's up with the latest forum update, but every time I try to post, I get a random quote. Anyway, people are slipping. Legacy's continued use of "Historic" doesn't sound like a coincidence to me. Sounds planned. Surprised nobody is searching and speculating on what that could mean. Of course, I live 1200 miles away, have no sources, and can't think of anything smart to say...but historic sounds like a clue to me.
  24. Really? Sorry, but I work in MARCOM so I laugh at these comments. Again, from a businesss sense in capitalistic America, do you think that giving you information you already know as fact somehow comes onto their radar? Full honestly, I've had runins with Legacy in the past but he's always been 99.5% correct. But C'mon. Don't toot your horn too much. They love us as we're money in the bank. They throw us bones. But we have no influence on a multiBILLION dollar company like Comcast. I realize that twitter makes everybody think they influence corporate decisions...but it's ONLY if it's cost effective and the hassle is worth the positive publicity. Really, we need to get a more accurate understanding of where we fit into the corporate sturcture or else it's just going to be non-stop bitching for 7 months out of the year. It's supply and demand. We supply 3? 5? 10% of the income and that's not a prioroty. Sorry, you might feel like you are OWED something from the event, but let me know the last time your power/gas/cellphone/anything else company threw you a bone for loyalty. Sorry...in a bitchy mood tonight EDIT: In my defense, I come here for news...and the ratio between news/speculation and bitching is 10% / 90%
  25. I haven't watched the movie in like a decade, but some things still come to mind as iconic moments: Guy ductaped up in a chair. Garage door scene (damn Rose McGowan was hot in the movie), The voice modulator thing,,,they can basically have it scream anything in the house with foot triggers. The behind the door scare. Vaugly remember something about the Fonze being killed. The original Drew Barrymore kill (though I tend to remember the Carmen Electra implant kill from Scary Movie more since I've seen it more recently). I'm sure anything else they did would instantly be recognizable to me as well.
