While I can't speak for this new Halloween version I will say the the normal version of Cinematic Celebration is very popular with guests and probably the best night time show Universal has done in sometime. That being said, I'm not sure how many people are going to set aside their precious house time to see it. I think it'll end up just being a nice surprise for people who just happen to be walking by at the time sort of like The Director's Cut in 2006 or the 3 mini shows during 2012.

I haven't seen the Cinematic Celebration show but Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle is hugely popular and very good IMO. I personally can't wait for this new show but I'm a sucker for neon and synth (I loved AOV: Cyberpunk last year). At the very least it might suck some crowds.

As much as Aiello talks about this being his dream house, the event seems to be getting away from actual horror.

Gigantic latex masks of clowns don't scare me.  Unless they can jury-rig some animatronic masks to give the clowns some detail, this will end up as boring as the scarezone was last year.  Let's just hope they have a ton of jump-scares planned.

At least Ghostbusters can rely on great sets, effects and, if done well, some nice puppets.  I'm down for that.

I don't like when people use the terms "real horror" or "actual horror" because it's just so subjective. Horror isn't always slashers and gore. Case in point, the house that actually scared me the most last year was Seeds of Extinction because that existential, Lovecraftian, Weird Horror just frightens me. That wouldn't be considered "real horror" but it worked really well for what it was.

I mean since Zombieland is apparently coming it could be seen either way lol.  Though yeah even if Zombieland wasn’t coming it would still fit and just definitely be a ghostbusters reference. I was just correcting that i’m pretty sure that’s what’s Ringwraith was referring to. His quote sounds to me like was talking about a hint to the NY scarezone and I don’t see anything else that could be hinting at zombieland.

girl why dont we have both GIF

The filming location is where the scarezone is and the presence of a certain item hints to that scarezone, even though it is also in the GB film.

This is so smart. I love these promo videos. Kinda wish they did them for the original houses but I get why they don't.

That's the rumor so far. I haven't actually seen the movie but selfishly it irks me that an original got dumped for what seems like is a very underwhelming IP. Did the movie have that much popularity and hype when it was out?. For anyone that has seen it, is it worth the rent.

It was pretty popular, more than the recent Purge movies or HDD. And since it's Blumhouse you know that UOR can easily get it into HHN. I thought it was good, and it has a distinct 80's theme and references stuff like Hands Across America.

I honestly didn’t like “Us”. And I’m quite infuriated that we lost an original house for this movie.

The originals are always great, but "Tooth Fairy" was easily the house I was least interested in.
