Hope you've been reading the thread! Definitely do the backlot first, then Halloween or Exorcist (whichever is shortest, since it's a Thursday you might be able to do both), go up top, then come back down and do whatever you missed on the lower lot right before closing.

That's what I meant!
How is it not cheaper to just build some type of mechanism? With 8 hours a day, over $10 per hour, and 4 day weekends, and I'm guessing about 6ish weekends, that's like $2000+ per blackout position. How much does it cost for hydraulics and such? I know Knotts uses them all the time for a lot of, if not all of their mazes.

So the room with everything moving... there's a single person moving every single picture frame, the bed, etc? Man. Crazy job.

I wouldn't doubt it. I believe last year for Crimson Peak, they had one black out jiggle a door knob from the other side all night
... you must be joking! Omg lmao

K, so I've heard the Ouija board in Exorcist is a blackout performer like the 3rd time now and I figured that must be a mistake. Like there is literally a person controlling that thing? For what purpose? That couldn't have been automated? I'm finding it hard to believe management allows someone to be paid for just that... no offense to whoever Job that is! Haha

Haven't heard anyone else say they put the wristbands on us haha definitely hasn't been the case for me in the last 2 years either with this new system. Maybe you just had an overly friendly employee want to touch you, zombieman hahaha

Got to experience round two of HHN last night. In addition, I also got to use my behind the scenes tour I won at Midsummer Scream. I went through Texas with Chris Williams and he gave us a really good tour. What's cool is that my eleven year old sister got to go as her first time ever going to HHN. Considering we both started off with a BTS tour with Chris Williams and FoL privilege, I'd say she had an amazing first experience, wouldn't you?
So I finally saw Jabawockeez and I liked it better than last year's show. It was nice that they incorporated a little narration and more humor in there. The laser effects were pretty cool. Still prefer Bill and Ted, but this show is adequately entertaining.
I also finally did TWD during HHN and that was great. I got one really good scare from one of the walkers at the very end as I didn't think that would be used as a scare spot. Not worth an one and a half hour wait, but it was cool to experience it with extra performers.
I got to do everything except TWD and TCM twice….well, we did the tour, so I guess that kinda counts as twice for TCM? We also got to do Krampus three times because they didn't scan our pass when we went through our second round with the pass. So we took advantage of that and went back for round three.
The highlight of the night for me was having some tater tot nachos. Hot dang those were good. Definitely the best HHN treat for me. They tasted amazing but the after effects aren't pleasant which is why I gotta wrap this post up pretty soon.
Oh, and I got to have the s'mores sandwich. It's good, but not quite as heavenly as it sounds. If I want to get a treat, I'll just get the Simpsons donut next time.
So yeah, had a lot of fun last night. **Hits post and runs to the bathroom**
If rumors are true and the Mummy is leaving after next Summer, I don't see the Exorcist coming back. They may retire that venue.
Mummy leaving... what would your guess be as to what's replacing it? Honestly you can just throw another ride into that building instead of tearing it down and completely changing the structure of the backlot. And even if Mummy's gone, they can rebuild Exorcist somewhere else, which would be beneficial to make some changes.

Just a heads up, yesterday during early entry anybody wearing the HHN early entry wristband was being turned away from entering Hogsmeade
Technically you don't need to put on your wristband until the escalators, so I'll just keep it off until than!

I really loved this review, I'm kinda shocked TitE is over AvP even though it's a repeat, but cmon! Haha can't wait to read your review on this year and to see if anything tops Insidious for you.

So I've been a lurker for years but never posted. I know there's been talk about The Conjuring coming to HHN for years to both Hollywood and Orlando but it never has. It always comes down to rights or what have you. Well I just moved to Australia and was looking for Halloween events here. Low and behold Warner Brothers Movie World has a Conjuring 2 maze this year. Not sure how they are able to get the rights but Universal can't but this may be the reason we haven't seen it at either HHN event in the US. Hopefully next year is the year it finally comes
Because WB owns The Conjuring franchise.

If not, I guarantee Knotts will do a maze "heavily inspired" by it.

So I just finished Hotel and I am now SO DISAPPOINTED in the AHS maze. That season had enough alone to be a mega maze, but what is in the maze isn't even some of the coolest stuff/environments/kills/characters. I was already disappointed by Murder House's design not feeling as grand as it could, but now Hotel is truly missing the grandeur it should have. Freak Show is the only decent replication of a season. So unfortunate they dropped the ball on this one after all these years.

I highly doubt Phantasm haha
im pretty sure either Exorcist or FvJ will be back by popular demand. If I were to guess though, Exorcist.
Heres the line up i see happening, which I put on another thread:
AHS: Asylum/Coven/Roanoke
The Exorcist
Trick r treat
The Conjuring/Annabelle
Lights Out
Saw: Legacy
-
Weird, mine started on the 1st roof in a straight line, 2nd roof was full of zig zags, and it was maybe 50 mins. However, there was only 1 or 2 zig zags in the actual JP queue area. They must've been pulsing the maze weirdly. The Halloween and Exorcist lines are the ones I hear the most about. Halloween being longer than it says and Exorcist being shorter than it says.
-
Just so we don't fill up the discussion boards!
-
Because of popular demand! I'm willing to bet because of ratings on top of a lot of people skipping it because of the line, execs will see a reason to repeat it.
-
It's too early but I'll throw it out there now...
Saw: Legacy
American Horror Story: Asylum/Coven/Roanoke
The Exorcist
Trick 'r Treat
The Conjuring/Annabelle
Lights Out

Great review, glad you got to see everything despite the messed up wait times!
Where was the line for Halloween starting when you went? That should've been a good indicator how long the wait would've been.

Those bumblebee tacos suck, super dry and no spice!

Anyone remember when the price of an unlimited FOL was $69? I remember thinking that was expensive.... and VIP was $159.
Crazy how things change in only a few years.
The regular prices are more expensive than those now... tsk tsk.

So I got bored and was calculating...
Knotts and HHN have produced almost the same amount of traditional mazes since 2006.
Knotts has 46 (if we're not counting the Trapped or Special Ops variations)
HHN has 42.
HHN is catching up. Wow.
[My math may be a bit off, so feel free to double check it]

This was actually my first thought when I heard of the 5 PM extension, but then I checked wait times around 5:30ish and saw it was closed already so i assumed they closed at 5 so early entry didn't bother, but now that all makes sense!
i haven't been to hogwarts yet so if this means I miss TWD, Jabbawockeez and maybe even TCM on my next visit, I won't mind!

Visit Harry Potter if Early Entry continues as is; we rode Forbidden Journey and drank a frozen butterbeer. Nice way to start the event.
FUCK YEAH, totally planning on this next time

Ever go to the event and miss a maze? List them!
Ive been going to HHNH since '07 and have gone through every maze...
WITH THE EXCEPTION OF ONE.
2008's House of Horrors: Meet the Strangers
Just wasn't on the agenda at the time haha

You and HHNfanforever's reviews are almost identical in order of things you guys did, it's very bizarre haha
