  1. http://www.marketwire.com/press-release/Fright-Dome-Circus-Circus-Partners-With-Lionsgate-Twisted-Pictures-Second-Year-Create-NYSE-LGF-1289950.htm

I think it's safe to say the new maze won't be Saw or MBV now with this news.

And to think, with the very small space Circus Circus has yet they have FIVE mazes which I hear are top of the line.

I'm very interested to see what they will do with MBV (oddly, I'm watching the movie now as we speak).

For me, this clarifies these 2 mazes won't be back.

What about you? Does this make you feel it's a possibility they will be back?

  2. So hey, uh, Murdy, maybe you should've given AOL the go on Sunday, WISE GUY, lmao

With all that said, I'm glad when I wake up tomorrow there's going to be a maze announcement... or at least.. there better be...

or I will go to the AOL offices and just... do nothing.

Sit there and wait, I guess, haha

Klownz... hm, yeah, I speculate that uh... they'll scare people... with chainsaws...

AY, for really though, at SFMM, in Gotham City for their Fright Fest, some of the clowns have these firecrackers they throw at the ground and they scare the SHIT out of people.

The Klownz here should get those too!!!

    Side note:

I just have the oddest feeling that tomorrow Murdy is going to get on Twitter and say:

"Just talked to AOL. They said they'll post the announcement by the end of the week."

    -_-

  3. Well you know when people say, "that'll be the apocalypse when that happens."

    2012 is in 2 years...

    HHN '12...

TWILIGHT: MEET THE CULLENS. NEW maze for 2012! Experience the enchantment of the Cullen family while having a delightful journey through their elegant home. All the Cullen's will be there including Alice, Jasper, Esme and don't forget - Edward. See his skin sparkle in the sunlight and have your breath taken away by all their beauty. Some trouble is ahead when a viscious vampire clan is in the neighborhood though! So take heed! Don't forget to visit the Edward's Spider Monkey Piggy Back rides on the lower lot!

  4. Ay! No need for name calling! I guess you need to go back to Kindergarten and learn to play nice! lol

If someone wants to make a complaining thread, so be it. But we have the right to complain - we were promised something MONTHS ago.

We are THE fans. Without us, the event would topple over and there would be Twilight mazes for the dumb 14 year old girls who go to the event.

Seriously, there's people who think Eclipse is "lyk, the skarieeest muvie eva1111!"

We're lead to believe they're doing the best they can but it honestly doesn't FEEL like it.

  5. Well that's the thing that bugs me.

They don't have a effing clue when they were going to release.

What business doesn't know these things?

They were ready back in June.

    Everything was finalized.

We waited for Kong, it's been an ENTIRE month.

Not like that PR mattered anyway since there is commercials, ads, coupons and the like up the ass everywhere.

But for Universal to just blow in the wind for when they're going to release info seems very unprofessional.

Set a date, stick to it, if there's a set back, pick another date and stick to that one.

Announce the announcement date, get people prepared to figure it out.

Announcement day comes and the damn thing is actually announced.

That's how this should work but we ain't getting that luxury. There's no real reason behind it other than being snobby.

If someone knows something otherwise, show me proof of how exactly and why it's taking so long.

Show me contracts and their signed dates, show me art sketches, show me initial plans, etc..

I imagine a bunch of guys in ties sitting in a room looking at eachother saying "is it time yet?" and then other one answering "nah, doesn't feel right."

This isn't something life changing like a proposal for a new World Trade Center.

This is a flippin' Halloween event.

Fairs and carnivals have better organization than this.

Honestly, just tell me what is going on. If something changes, I don't mind.

I just want to know what is happening with the event I love!!!!

Were we mad when Zombieland wasn't at Knott's? Yes, but that's okay because it was still an exciting moment to at least imagine it. We can only dream up what that would've been like but I'd rather dream than be left in the dark.

  6. Haha, thanks for the birthday wishes.

My main concern is, where exactly on AOL would the link be? I don't think it'd be Entertainment News because that comes DIRECTLY from popwatch.com, which is more of a social/gossip website although it does have the occasional announcement of things but usually dumb things like "JUSTIN BIEBER PLANNING A MOVIE! OMG!!!HAHAHAH" or something like that.

Main news? HHN isn't exactly main news... I don't know...

    Moviefone? This is bugging me....

Not an announcement, but a nice read:

  7. I getcha. In The Mouth of Madness is a favorite of mine as well. The Thing, although slow, when things kick up, it's some of the most awesome horror ever created. I own both (as well as Halloween ofcourse).

But as we know, HHN is (I think) experimenting with slashers for the time being so they can have icons. Otherwise, I'd love to see a maze based on some more supernatural mazes as well since I agree they would make for pretty creepy mazes. However, I'm still getting my kicks being chased around by some of my favorite slashers. There's no feeling like it :)

  8. Wait................

    ..................

    ...........................................

    .................................

    ..........................

    ....................

YOU DON'T LIKE HALLOWEEN? Halloween directed by John Carpenter? Written by him and Debra Hill? With a score by Carpenter as well? Starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Donald Pleasance?

    I - I - I - I just don't know what to say....

  9. Well the Scream maze wouldn't exactly follow the exact format of the movies with scenes of dialogue. Just a quick run through of the death scenes would suffice. And Halloween took place in the suburbs. THE ENTIRE MOVIE. Murdy put his spin on it though and it worked very well by going into more houses and into the asylum (which was only in Zombie's version).

What makes Scream scary to most kids these days is he's realistic, not just a stumbling giant zombie. He can be anyone, man or woman, short, tall, skinny, fat and is willing to use their wit to get you where they need to be. The first two Scream films weren't very atmospheric, aside from the first scene (fog settling in, swing in the backyard) but Scream 3 had some extremely creepy parts in it (ghost mom at the window, ghost mom in a body bag). Some of these scenes can translate very well into a maze.

Ghostface running at you would be awesome. Better than the miner from MBV anyway.

Going through all the movies, I can think of plenty of different set pieces that could be in the maze: Casey Becker's backyard, school bathroom, principal's office, Stu's garage, some outside bush areas with the news van, the movie theater, sorority house, outside area with cop cars, film set, Sidney's house and the end scene in the mansion. It'd work for me, but that's just me...

  10. We've also discussed that before too Halloween Blues. We (or at least I have commented heavily) that Murdy making a Twitter was a mistake in the first place. Either that or having the itch to answer every question. I hope next year he'll be wise about it.

Hellraiser is unlikely for this year since people still know it is as a DTV series for now. Once the remake hits, it'll be back in our minds.

Scream, however, is THE most popular horror franchise of the nineties. Nobody needs a reminder for that. They could do it two years in a row and still get a heavy crowd coming to see it. ESPECIALLY, since there are THREE more films coming out being it's the new trilogy. So expect a Scream maze sometime at least within the next 3 - 5 years but I'm just hoping we get it this year or next.

The most popular horror franchise for the 00's has been done already, and that was Saw. And the others from the 80s that were revived in the 00's have already made a come back (TCM, F13, NOES). So that kinda just leaves Resident Evil, Underworld (even though I don't necessarily see it working) and Hostel or something of the torture porn era.

  11. Okay, let's be REAL here.

If it's being announced on AOL, it has to be something BIG.

AOL is not going to just announce some original idea based on Murdy's creation for HHN.

They're going to announce something that'll get people excited for the event.

This is why it HAS to be the main maze and icon for 2010.

If AOL is announcing it, it means something.

It's something current or coming up or something old and classic with a fanbase.

Seriously, who's going to click on "Original maze for HHN 2010"

    NOBODY.

But who's going to click on "Classic Horror Film Comes to Life at Universal Studios Hollywood" - EVERYONE

Or even "Upcoming Horror Film " " - EVERYONE

I'm expecting Resident Evil, My Soul to Take or something of the like.

  12. "HHN Update: Keep an eye on AOL for the Halloween Horror Nights announcement. Should be something in the next 24 hrs."

AOL?! Since when did AOL have anything to do with this?! UGH!

I'm tired of tracking this. I'll just stay updated with this site since I'm sure one of you will post it.

Like I said... dicking us around.
