  1. Anyone see the chairs set up in the black tent for terror tram? Think it'll have something to do with the auction?

also for Exterminatorz it's gonna be interesting to see the opener. Think they'll have us pushed up further than before? Also do you think they'll over up Support The Purge on the van in Exterminatorz?

I guess my assumption on a "mini-maze" in that tent was wrong. Again, they are going for a more theatrical approach, so it will likely be for a mini-show or live "execution".

They'll cover that van up. The truck in Corpz had the Good Guys logo on there so they'll have to cover it up as well.

  2. Since I can't post a direct video from Instagram on here, I'll just post the link to it here. Here's Purge Tram const.

  3. Can't wait for this House of Horrors overlay:

Wait Jason Alexander is in this!? Can Jerry Seinfeld be in this too so that this can be a horror movie about nothing?

Seinfeld jokes aside, this movie looks AWESOME so far. As far as maze potential goes, it looks like most of it will take place in or right outside the house. Evil Dead was the same situation, yet we were able to get a full maze out of it. I don't think that will be a hindrance.

The maze seems like it would fit best in Parisian Square. I'm looking forward to seeing this.

I don't want to turn this into 2016 speculation, but for what it's worth, Legay has said a while back that FearTWD, Purge 3, Krampus, (MAYBE) Trick 'R Treat, and Army of Darkness are huge possibilities for Orlando. Remember, ANYTHING CAN CHANGE but I think we know what IPs we might be sharing with them next year if that plays out.

  4. So I was at the park yesterday. Couldn't get any good shots, unfortunately, but you've already seen pictures of the Halloween and Insidious facades, I'm sure. So here's the rundown:

Scareazones are mostly just light posts now. The Purge van was located where Exterminatorz is and a Good Guy truck in French Street where Corpz is.

Halloween and Insidious look like they're basically done.

    TITE is mostly plywood apparently.

TWD's facade, from a distance, looks like it has some work going on, but certainly not finished.

Crimson Peak and AVP I couldn't see because it was blocked.

Finally, Terror Tram barely has any work done. There's one piece of what looks like a short stage/platform going in where Bates Motel is and some pieces of wood. That's about it.

So yeah, HHN needs to step on it to get stuff done.

  5. What does this mean? What do you mean, "different approach?" So many questions left unanswered!

Different approach as in a bit more theatrical. I'll let you wait and see when the event starts how it will play out.

I will say that its going to suck for all of you going to EP. Construction is REALLY behind. Everything might, again MIGHT, be barely ready for opening night, let alone EP. TITE and TWD is still mostly plywood walls, from what I hear. Don't even get me started on Terror Tram.

  6. Heard some rumblings about this year. Despite the disappointung line-up, we're in for a surprise. They're finally changing things up in the mazes. There should be a mix of old and new tricks and scare tactics. No longer will it just be some guy running out of a door. I'll leave it at that.

Also, Terror Tram will have an entirely different approach than usual. From the rumblings I heard, I may keep my flame thrower at home. :)

It sounds like this year, they heard our complaints about monotonus gags and plain walls in the mazes as well as the Tram and are addressing them this year. Sounds like they're going for quality > quantity.

Even though I can't be there opening weekend, I'm getting excited.

  7. The reused effects, I take it, are the AWiL-style puppets, LA Llorona-style creature effects, and the infamous hoarde that's been in virtually every house last year are what I imagine will be used.

Im getting a bit excited for this house now. I think I will enjoy it. It looks like they will utilize the venue's potential more this year.

EDIT: Infamous hoarse scare? How do I keep overlooking this stuff!?

  8. Just watched a couple of maze walk-thrus from 2012. I remember us complaining a bit about the lackluster line-up. Compare it to ours this year, and here's we got vs. what we should get.

    2012:

    -6 Mazes.

    -1 Overlay (Remix)

-1 Repeat (With a few new scenes) [La Llorona]

-2 brand new mazes [TWD and SH]

-2 returning themes with different look/layout. One being a crappy last-minute replacement. [TCM & AC:GTH]

    -Terror Tram

    2015:

    -6 mazes.

-2 brand-new themes [Crimson Peak, TITE]

    -Complete Repeat [AVP]

-3 returning themes with different look/layout [Insidious, Halloween, and TWD]

    -Potentially good Terror Tram?

I expect this year to be even better than 2012 and certainly 2013, at least as far as house content goes. I think this year could surprise us.

  9. He put it on private. This dude is probably in some deep s***.

Technically, that is trespassing. it wouldn't surprise me if he's six feet under not just with USH, but with the law. Not a good situation to be in.

You know what's even more pathetic than doing something like that? The event is merely three weeks away. When the event is that soon, it's not worth risking your hyde just to get some "juicy footage" for something you will see finished (and legally) in just three weeks. I'll bet you this is the kind of kid who never has any gifts under the tree for Christmas because he opened them three weeks prior.

  10. Well, as most of you had heard, Wes Craven died at 76 today after losing to brain cancer. You know what sucks? The year we were supposed to get Scream happens to be the same year the horror legend who made that great satire on horror passed away. Instead, Dimension screwed us and Universal by yanking the rights to it.  That house could've been a a nice tribute to the passing of Wes Craven. Screw you Dimension and screw you producers of the (abysmal) show who own the rights to it. What a shame.

R.I.P. Wes Craven. You were one of the greats.

Unrelated: My dad happened to be a sound editor for his show Chiller.

  11. I really hope they utilize the bungee scare on Nightengales. I've always wanted to check it out but was never able to. Heard it was legendary so I look forward to seeing it here!

I better see that bridge effect pulled off from Gothic. I have yet to see that effect in person. It would also be nice if they included the Gargoyle lunge scare.

Oh man, this is going to be great. :)
