  1. I know I wish for this every year, but since I'm a GA resident it breaks my little heart that they don't extend the FL resident discount to GA as well. Its expensive to drive 7 hours but yet sooooo worth it. If they can advertise to GA residents for WWOHP then you think they can give us the extra discounts as well. **Sigh** One day :)

And Lyn, I'm so sad if you and Eric do not attend this year. Maybe we can do a fundraiser?!?!?

Agreed, I live on the border (as in less than a mile on 95,) I go to Uni just as much as someone who lives right on the other side of the border. Not fair!

  2. Oh guess i shoulda mentioned, Con Artist is the new internal title for the express pass sales people who insist on calling them VIP Passes and insist you wont wait in line with one.

This is the second time water has come out of my nose from reading a post on this site. :/ Not cool you guys.... Universal take your time, nobody is anxious or anything...... /sarcasm

  3. Anybody who wants a copy of the Wikipedia page can follow this link to a google doc I made: http://docs.google.com/Doc?docid=0AaP77cCB9RUMZGM0Y2JqemtfMzhnNnd2Ymtjag&hl=en I won't be taking it down, so feel free to use it at your convenience. It will allow you to save the page if you wish. Also, HHNRUMORS archived the information (not the forums) on the vault if you're interested: http://hhnrumors.com/vault/news/index.html

  4. http://www.careyohio.org/ So, I just read through the actual website for the town of Carey, Ohio. I couldn't help but laugh at how innocent they want us to believe their town is (haha.) I think they need to inspect every one of those trees, and test the meat in those butcher shops!

Anyways, on a more relevant note. . . if the speculation about the red light meaning red herring is correct, I doubt speculation in future years will be very easy. Universal's creative team seems to be good at keeping their lips shut when they aren't licensing characters from other production companies. Also, the ability to hide the majority of their permit info probably didn't hurt.

  5. I can't even come close to describing how pissed off I am right now. If you look at half of the pages on Wikipedia regarding Halloween events, there are no sources. I want to know what makes Halloween Horror Nights the target of this guy's arrogance. I've looked under Wikipedia's "Contact Us" info, but it would appear that Moderators are free to do whatever the hell they want. I'm not even sure if I should be in this thread anymore, my post probably belongs in the "venting thread." Haha.

  6. Agreed, when I stumbled upon the notice of deletion a week or so ago, I got sooooo pissed. This guy is obviously hating on the event. He must be receiving money from Disney. :P Also, I saved the whole page to a word document, just in case HNN decides to have a HHN archive page... (consider this a suggestion. xD)

  7. I share the same opinion as many of the people who voted no before me: I don't come for photo ops, I come for scares. However, I don't think there is anything wrong with people taking candid shots of scare actors (as long as they aren't blinding them with flash.) Under no circumstances should flash photography be allowed in houses, it's disrespectful to the actors (assuming you aren't on a tour with no actors on set.) Also, I could see allowing a photo op or two if someone asks nicely on a really slow night, or really early in the evening. I like Hush's idea about having a place & time for those people who do want to take photos with the actors (yet another event that keeps people out of the line for haunts xD.)

  8. << This is why Jack will bring the icons together, because he pwnz Beetlejuice. xD (If you know the information behind the actor playing Jack in this video, you will know he also plays The Usher, Beetle Juice & The Grinch. Funniest thing ever! Also, thanks for the wallpaper. It looks amazing. :)

Edit** Apparently he doesn't play the Usher, sorry for any confusion.

  9. so you are telling me that the person from creative that told me this was lying, sorry but I asked him the same question last year as he was on my UTH tour last year, and HHN has too much alcohol that their target would be young adults who can't drink it.

USO makes to much money on alcohol that they will never cut it out, and the event I hope will continue to be created for the people who are old enough to drink said adult beverages. the tickets say PG-13. and lastly I think TJ knows the target audeince of his favorite event.

so you can accept the idea or not but it is a fact that HHN's target audeince is collage age 21 - 30. they make too much $ on the alcohol not to target the audeince that will be drinking. they make around $4 million just on alcohol during HHNs.

ThreeCircles how many years have you been going to HHN, and have you ever done the UTH tour?

this year will be my 8th year in a row, and I have not missed a UTH tour, and the year they didn't do the tour I was there on the final night and was able to do the LT and had the Q&A with creative and that large group of fans.

that said I think my information comes from a creditable source

    see you in 105 days

    Jim

I'll believe that they may target people from ages 21-30, but that doesn't mean that they don't make an effort to draw a broader audience. I frequently get surveyed in the parks during HHN, and it's pretty obvious that I'm not of drinking age.

  10. I couldn't find a place to post a general question about something I see people saying in the forums a lot. I understand that "Legendary Truth" is a website, but what exactly is it? Thanks. :) If this is the wrong place to post this, I'll understand if it gets deleted. Oh, and I totally butchered the sub-title of this topic, it should say Yo tengo un pregunta.

  11. What if each of the old icons represents one of the greek gods?

This idea was suggested earlier by Dr.Jimmy. Here is what he said:

There was a Body Collector, we found out in 2008 that the Body Collectors were active in Victorian London, what if they were active in Ancient times?

Or, what if the roots of our icons run truly very very deep, and they are somehow twisted incarnations of ancient gods and figures of myth? A dark pantheon, so to speak?

If so Jack could = Dionysus the trickster god, and Eddie = Ares god of war.

The Caretaker and Cindy could be a modern version of the myth of Hades and Persephone.

The Director could be a dark Apollo and the Usher an evil Hermes.

The Storyteller might be a twisted version of Athena goddess of wisdom, or even one of the three fates.

And the there's Bloody Mary who is "safe" when she is only seen in a mirror but becomes deadly when she emerges from it. Medusa?

It truly is a fascinating idea. It's nice to see the wheels turning again.

  12. Bits of a few of them are on Youtube, in varying levels of quality.

I'd love to see the ones for 'Leave it to Cleaver' and 'Nightmare on Elm Street: Dreamwalkers.'

It isn't in high quality, but this is the one for the Sleep Well drug from NoES: Dw.

The one for Leave it to Cleaver starts half way through this video, around the 2:45 mark.

    However, the quality is lacking.
  13. I would never would expect that Universal would put a Kayne West song in a HHN house especially to my favorite house of that year... Are you sure? Did you see a white tent that you walk into the start of the house where there is a tile hallway filled with fog? Any evidence or proof not saying your wrong or anything because i totally forgot the soundtrack for that house it's a long time...

Right now I have nothing more than my best friend and I's memories, but I'll try to find it in a Youtube video. It wasn't the whole song, just the beginning of it where they say flashing lights over and over with that beat in the background.

  14. At Halloween Horror Nights 17, they featured the song Flashing Lights by Kanye West. I believe it was in the house with the new drug: A Nightmare on Elm Street: Dreamwalkers. If it wasn't (I'm pretty sure it was) then it was PsychoScareapy: Home for the Holidays. Whichever house it was, it was in the opening room where a big bright coil lit up and then made it nearly impossibly to see.

  15. Yeah.

To paraphrase Dr. Evil, "Throw us a frickin' bone here, Universal!"

Though, there is one bit of good news relating to the release of the permits: It confirms that they'll be using the Parade Building again this year!

I consider this good news because for the past 2 years, the Houses located in the Parade Building have been widely considered to be the best/ most popular Houses of those respective years (Scary Tales 3 in '08, and Silver Screams last year). The Parade Building is quite spacious, seems to accomodate special effects easily (Unlike the Jaws Queue, which only works well for Houses which require little or no special effects), and is good at presenting multiple different, rapidly changing environments/ sets. I wonder what they'll use it for this year, maybe Jack's House or Silver Screams 2?

Amen! It'd be wonderful if they'd give us something... anything! It seems that a Mr.Potter seems to have greedily captured all of Universal's resources and Media Coverage. Hopefully after they open WWoHP to the public, they will throw us your metaphorical bone. Until then, I will be forced to refresh this page a million times a day hoping something new will be here.

  16. Sorry to break from the topic of the form (speculation,) but after reading through tons of forums and rumor sites, I have 2 questions: What is NLC? What are the NLC characters? I'm excited about the event, and thanks for anyone who answers the question.
