The least they could do with IOA is dress it up all spooky harvest like and treat it like a Mickeys not so scary. Id at least go for the decorations.

Nooo...if you’re doing IOA with HHN do scary. I mean if not so scary IOA just decorate the park around a little bit. But decorations can work for the islands. Although, scary makes more $$$

How about a Steven Spielberg Monster Maze? Combine Jurassic Park, War of The Worlds and Jaws? (Idk how)..... just a thought

Sounds like a Hollywood creation . I wish Jaws came back to Orlando though in some way or shape of form.

Just throwing this out there, but what about a Jurassic World/Park Maze? I know we already have the rid at IOA, but what about something new and fresh with SA's in raptor costumes and animatronics all over the place... definitely a pipe dream, but I think it would be a cool idea.

They kinda did that in 2002, with JP:Extinction.

Japan has their own version of a Sadako/The Ring “house,” which basically goes through T2 until the cursed tape overrides the system and she wrecks havoc among the audience. Would’ve loved to see that here before T2 closed

That would’ve been great for Orlando. They’ve done that before with rides(Jaws, Kongfrontation, Earthquake, Back To The Future, E.T.). That sounds like that could’ve been a really good concept too!

It's not like plenty of the IPs they've done haven't been adult. AHS, despite me not liking it at all, is definitely not child friendly.

Oh AHS is not child friendly at all whatsoever. The show has featured gore, sex, homosexuality, adultery, and all kinds of things. Good show though. But Vol. 2 was cool.

I meant more violence + gore censoring. We had pole dancers and strippers last year lol

Yeah I got on video! And I like strippers! Lol. But HHN has been known for scantly clad attractive women for a long time. Even ask the HHN professor himself.

But yeah ugh, i forgot they can’t be crazy anymore since they reach a broader audience now.

    1. that isn't definite yet

    2. even if it goes through, Disney might sell some IPs they won't be using off, I'm imagining a lot of those horror related

okay one: I never said it's as popular as NoES or Halloween, only that it's possible that it will come to the event again. I think it has a ton of creative scenes I've seen, and I haven't even watched the films! It's almost definitely not going to become as big of a part of the event as the titans, but I could definitely see it as a classics maze sometime in the future.

    gtfo

    Isn’t the Disney/Fox deal in 2021?

I know you didn’t say that about Hellraiser, I’m just saying it in a business standpoint(although Hell On Earth has become pretty popular around Halloween at seasonal shops), I mean Hellraiser will be a ballsy IP. That would be an insanely cool and crazy house!

A Silence Of The Lambs would be cool. But it’s been awhile since I’ve seen the movie. But i have a few ideas for it, but not enough to have a big house

Die In 2 really touched upon films that would never be able to stand on their own.

Oh yes! Except wasn’t Scream apart of Die In 2? Because that could work as it’s own house(c’mon now rights holders let’s get it Harvey isnt a problem).

But The Ring, Hellraiser, or Silence Of The Lambs can’t work as their own house.

    Please explain.

Predator has happened at HHN before back in 2014. But the whole Disney/Fox Thing could be difficult.

As for Hellraiser, I can’t see that as a whole house come to hhn. Yes it has the horror villain pinhead behind it, but a bunch of people have owned Hellraiser(most recently a perverted greedy studio executive). And the other problem Is, Hellraiser wasn’t as popular as NOES or F13 or even what Halloween ever would be. Plus the only Hellraiser that would be cool to touch are the first three films as a house.

sorry to be a bother, but I'm trying to get acquainted with the lingo of house design and would like to know what the phrases I have bolded mean.

Yeah, the more I think about it, I feel like NoES has so many fun scenes that could work in a SS with huge effects, I would be okay with it getting a SS, but also I would really like to see at least one OG in a SS so it's 50/50 for me

Yeah, but for originals this year it’s tough to decide what really A&D has in store for us. Or what Universal has planned, since basically there’s been everything from clowns to vampires to everything in between.

After taking a peek at what movies are coming out around that time I feel like a Halloween house is possible probably similar to last year's Saw where it was old and new. Also a predator remake (?) Is coming out so it's possible to also see that again. Personally I think they will try to get stranger things and It but I don't know how successful they will be in acquiring them. There was already an It house. I think a poltergeist house would be amazing but I can see any cult classic making an appearance like hell raiser, the titans of terror, or maybe a black and white classic horror house (literally everything is black and white imagine all the fun to have with lighting).

Halloween will happen. But Predator.. no way in hell. Hellraiser had somewhat an appearance In 2006 with All-Nite Die-In Take 2, other than that that film franchise will never come to the event.

    My completely half-baked, uninformed predictions:

Thing will be in a SS as I imagine it's a passion project for creative, probably one of the two near the back of NY

IT gets front of the park

StrTh will be in the other front of park SS

the creative team will let at least one OG have a SS but not sure, none of the other IPs really have to be in a SS

AHS will get MIB tent cuz it's gonna be small, maybe the facade will be the small house the cult spends most of the time in during the show I think Blumhouse will try to keep Halloween out of here because of their bad track record with the location

NoES will get a tent in the back or shrek, Halloween getting the other, both will probably get facades based on their respective "houses"

TrT will get the new parade building

leaving one OG in a tent, as Scarecrow did so well last year

This a very good prediction! Honestly they should let NOES and Halloween have a soundstage. But this is a big gamble, so honestly I’m not sure how this will work out.

So right now, there’s in talks of 6-7 IPs. This is the first time this has been IP heavy since 2009(had 2-3 IPs I believe) or even 2007(had 5 IPs) so this could be interesting.

Originals need to be something that strike out, although they can pop out two like they can do something that strikes out or even... do something with a past icon like house like Horror Night Nightmares without having an icon or for the hell of it bring an icon! There are things you can do Universal!

  11. Five Nights At Freddy’s isn’t hhn friendly. Yeah Blumhouse did it but that doesn’t mean it should happen. Resident Evil from 2013 got mixed to poor reception by fans and the guests that year.

So no chance in hell(haha chance ) but for real, there’s only one Freddy that should touch HHN Orlando and that’s Freddy Krueger.

I think HHN should be relevant with their IPs(like with Stranger Things, AHS, Walking Dead, slasher villains, and nostalgic horror films). Five Nights is dying out, Blumhouse has more properties to show off than a game aimed to teens and kids.

Then again this is March people, things haven’t gone through(remember Scream back in 2015?) Imean now since the Weinsteins are fucked I wonder if we could get some IPs we’ve wanted in the next few years.

But I’m ready for these announcements, since May 1 is the day

  12. Please don’t let Chucky come back to hhn. Unless if it’s classic to at least Bride era’ Chucky. Cult killed the franchise, and was only a part of HHN Hollywood for that shitty movie. I’ve never been to the Hollywood one nor do I want to(only want to go for Jurassic Park in the dark, but you never know hhn Orlando again). But I heard that Chucky’s terror tram was bad last year from online.

Ok, I've been out for over a week, and I'm catching up.  What the hell is this HHN 5K?  I mean, how would that even.. what?  Please more details.

As for a kid's event - I agree with others here - don't care if they do it as long it doesn't get anywhere near the adult HHN.  I've said for years that if you get too scared or want to drag along small kids.. go to Disney.  Uni is ours goddammit.. and it better stay at the PG13 level... minimum.

Universal needs to avoid doing a kids Halloween themed part. I mean they can do a thing with the minions but nah(although I like minions). But Universal looks at $$$, and they make a killing off of horror aimed towards adults and teenagers.

I just went on a family vacation to Disney last week so I'll chime in with a little bit of info that was new to me.

We went from Sat to Sat and the first two days we went were INSANE.  Disney has a crap ton of races that week and it draws in thousands of people.  Here's one picture of a half marathon that had 25,000 participants.  They had to show up at 3am for a 5am start time.  This picture was taken at 9:30am on our way into the park...it was all the walkers just doing the race.  This went on for MILES.  They all then went to the park(s).  When we parked they had no tram service as they were dedicated to the race and we parked out in the farthest lot.  They were allowed to wear costumes during the race and then wear them into the event so long as they didn't have something obsuring their face no matter what their age.  (At the end of the day we were on a monorail with a bunch of participants so this is where I got all the info).

They said it was VERY expensive to do the race and they had really nice looking medals.  Some had as many as 5-7 on.  They came from everywhere from Ft Lauderdale to Baton Rouge to Sacramento.  They said it was VERY expensive to do the race, but it was worth it.  The medals from the race are the envy of all  their friends.

The lines the first couple days we were there were INSANE.   Like everything 90min plus.  Then they significantly died down.  There was press EVERYWHERE.

If Universal wants in on this craze and can draw in 10,000 runners, generate revenue, contribute to a charity, get press to show up, and introduce thousands of new people to the event it's a great idea on their part.  A 5K might be open to younger people, but a longer race wouldn't add to the "childfication" of the event.  If you had them running during the event and a finish line giving out prizes and stuff, people would show up for the spectacle of it all and would drunkenly cheer them on all night.  Freddy Kruger and Twisty could greet the finishers and Pennywise could hand out the medals.  It could be fun...even for fatasses like me who can't run 5 meters let along 5 kilometers :)

It’s a great marketing addition! But those runners... dayum! That’s insane. How was the trip to Disney?

We’re not sure about how many houses, the two pieces of evidence I showed conflict each other, but the 9 houses evidence seems more legit, as it is coming from someone involved with the event

on the topic of IP and original, no one “really” knows, we just have the rumors

I think it’s going to be IPs with some few originals this year. But that’s just me. I wish they could ressurect it with an icon, but according to some out there. Icons only come around Anniversary years now.
