  1. Honestly, when it comes to IP's if the only ones we get next year is IT & Stranger Things I'd be totally fine with that lol But I'd be shocked to see either of them so I'm not getting my hopes up.
  2. I'm excited for Sinister, I thought the demon in that one was kinda creepy so I'm sure he'll scare me, and I liked the first Insidious movie so I'm interested to see that. I just wish they could have used any other Blumhouse property instead of The Purge. They even could have just dressed SA's in sheets & bam-there's Paranormal Activity!
  3. Good to know they start planning in November, I'm still super excited for this year (especially TrT) but I do hope next year goes more smoothly for those working behind the scenes.
  4. Honestly I hope that there's a small portion of the HHN team working on 28 already, if only to insure (as best as they can from now) that next year won't have as many issues with whatever IP's they're trying to use.
  5. The only logical reason why I can see it replacing Ouija is because Universal's already done a Purge house so to their bean counters it looks like an easier & more cost/time efficient fix then trying to figure out something from a Blumhouse property they've never done before. All I can say is I really hope eventually somebody is willing to spill on everything that went on behind the scenes this year cause it's sounded like just one mess after the other after the other.
  6. So basically we have The Purge in the biggest SZ (or at least it felt like the biggest SZ last year) of the park and in Blumhouse now as well? Kinda disappointing, and I don't even hate The Purge. I literally could not sit through the first Ouija but the Henry Thomas one I didn't hate.
  7. Keeping ny fingers crossed it's The Purge, simply cause it's already a SZ. There were a ton of previews for Happy Death Day on tv a couple weeks ago, it didn't look horrible so I wouldn't be opposed to seeing that replace The Purge.
  8. Dear Universal, Sincerely, Probably everyone at this point
  9. Could she possibly be a glimpse at the scareactors in Festival of the Deadliest??
  10. While I don't know HHN's history in regards to politics, I agree with this simply because this upcoming season seems to be a bit political. I think in the end it would come to whether or not Universal believes having AHS Cult will sell them enough tickets to justify dealing with the potential headaches having a politically based house would cause. So basically if this season is as political as it seems, I'd be surprised to see AHS Cult next year.
  11. I don't know if I'll be much help but I've been to Eastern State during the day and that place is so creepy, yet also beautiful. There were a lot of photographers in there, I recommend checking it out during the day if you're into it. I also used to live very close to Pennhurst-never went there though, I always heard that it's a pain in the ass to get to. If you happen to find yourself in the real backwoods of Jersey (Mullica Hill to be precise)-about 30 minutes outside of Philly there's a place called Creamy Acres, they have an event called Night of Terror. I accidentally did the hayride when I was a child and it unfortunately contributed to my still ongoing fear of chainsaws (to this day I have flashbacks of it that scare the crap out of me). I only did the hayride but I know they have more than 1 haunted house, they pulse the lines, and I've heard recently they added a zombie shooting hayride. Again, don't know if it was much help, but enjoy your time in the Philly area!!
  12. Welp just got back from a quick trip to Pandora to find out TrT is confirmed!!!!!!!!! I wish it was a house too (and I really hope eventually it'll become one) but I am ecstatic that it'll at least be a SZ!!! I'm actually about to get started on building a Sam prop-so my excitement levels for this are SUPER HIGH!!!! It would also be amazing if Universal put Sam in the Scareactor Dining this year too *fingers crossed* I also agree with selling autumnal food & drink at the event. Even like a pumpkin dessert station with donuts, muffins, pie, cheesecakes, etc. would be incredible. The rest of the scare zones sound promising as well (especially Invasion & Altar of Horrors), I'm definitely finding myself getting more excited now!
  13. I can't even begin to put into words how happy & excited I will be if/when TrT is announced. If I could make a list of the top 5 dream IP's I'd love to see at HHN, TrT would absolutely be on it! Such a good Halloween movie. I'm so curious to see how they're gonna make it work too. The Central Park area felt slightly more confined to me last year, as opposed to the other scare zones, I'm wondering if they're gonna have all the characters from the movie out at the same time or if they'll do cast changes with different characters at different times. However it's done, I know that'll be the SZ I spend the most time in this year!
  14. So sorry to hear this news. While B&T wasn't my cup of tea, I thought the actors and dancers did a terrific job. Even if it's something you're not too into, it's always a shame to see a classic go. I'm glad they at least announced it as a "farewell tour", to give the show a chance to say goodbye, instead of just shuttering FFL immediately. I'll definitely be giving the show another shot this year, although I can't imagine B&T will never be back at HHN. I wouldn't be surprised to see it find a new home at HHN in some way in the future.
  15. The closing of FFL wouldn't be what upsets people, but the potential loss of B&T on the other hand...and if it affects HHN like it allegedly will...that all sounds about it to me.
  16. 90% of the time he doesn't even say my name, but on the off chance that he does I still turn into a giant child lol I'm beginning to wonder if it might be Terminator though. That'd affect the Hollywood SZ, aesthetically at least.
  17. Well now that the house I'm personally least looking forward to/interested in was announced & out of the way, I feel like in terms of HHN announcements the only place we have left to go is up, maybe? But when it comes to losing a ride, MiB I can handle, Mummy I will miss, ET though...
  18. I had mentioned a couple days ago that out of the 2 horror films I was most excited to see this year (It & Mother), I never thought they'd ever make it here. Well...looks like there's a free It pop up haunted house opening in Hollywood 8/14, and it sounds like it could be pretty spectacular. http://www.thatswhereitlives.com/ So basically could this possibly mean in the future there's a chance It could have a presence at HHN?
  19. I did it last year and I think it was my favorite thing we did (besides the houses) at HHN! The food wasn't amazing, but the character interactions were terrific!! The only one that spoke was Chance and she was super sweet, the rest of the scareactors still did a great job interacting though. They also all spent a lot of time with us, and we weren't rushed through dinner, which I really appreciate. I'm excited to do it again this year I just haven't booked it yet, but only cause I'm not sure whether to do it the first night or not. I would definitely give it a try though if you're interested, it's pricey but a lot of fun!
  20. Agreed. The thought of Saw coming back makes me feel like Robin Williams in Jumanji basically just like "what year is it?"
  21. I realized today there are 2 (imo) very promising horror movies coming out in September, and while I know they both probably never would have made it here anyway (It & Mother)...I'm kinda bummed we're most likely getting Jigsaw :/
  22. I did feel impending doom right after we passed the house facade and got into the house itself! Then once we were in it was like a dogpile of one awful thing after another! The sawdust/vomit smell was making me dry heave, I somehow managed to get the vomit effect sprayed onto my face & into my mouth, I got stuck in one of the hallways cause I couldn't see and a security guard had to come with a flashlight, etc., etc., etc. I don't know if being raised Catholic and being around a family that hates that movie has anything to do with it but I'm hoping it doesn't cause if the Angels vs. Demons house is confirmed I wanna see it. Churros sound really good though-I'm definitely gonna have to check out more of the food this year.
  23. This is absolutely true too-if I had the chance to wait outside the gates it totally would have overwhelmed me & I definitely would have psyched myself out. The first time I went we did Scareactor Dining, so we were escorted in before the event started. Then once we finished I do remember looking down the street towards the entrance to see throngs of people near AHS, so we just walked straight ahead to Exorcist instead. There were only 2 people in front of us, and a family of 4 behind us. The lady up front was super cheerful & smiley, I was so excited! Basically I walked in to The Exorcist like this... and walked out like this...
  24. If it makes you feel better I'm legitimately terrified of chainsaws (it's a long story) so I've avoided haunts like the plague. Last year was the first year I attended and I had so much fun that despite the shitshow this morning, I cannot wait for this year!! I found that I loved the funnier/lighter houses (AHS & Krampus were my favorites) and hated the very first haunted house I've ever been in (The Exorcist). So prepare to potentially dislike the first house you go in no matter how much you're looking forward to it (The Exorcist is one of my all time favorite movies so I thought I'd love it but NOPE). If that scenario does happen try to enjoy the scare zones (Vamp '55-a lighter one-was my favorite to hang around in), go on some rides to calm down then try a funnier house next. We did Krampus after The Exorcist, and even though we were timed to pretty much all the scares, it was such a fun house that we loved it!! Another great way of getting used to the scareactors is Scareactor Dining. It was such an easygoing atmosphere, that I wasn't even afraid of the chainsaw geisha when she got to our table (it probably helped that she wasn't revving it lol) and we had a terrific interaction with her-even though she couldn't talk! I hope you have a great time and if you need people to do any of the houses with I'm local so I'll be there!!
  25. Well that was even worse than I thought and I even made an attempt to be optimistic.
