  1. When I first went through it in 23 I was in line with these 3 guys (never met them before). There was one scene where the wolf popped out by maybe some trash cans. They screamed and leapt into the next scene only to be scared by another wolf and then screamed and jumped back towards the first wolf. Great house and one of my favorites.

I know that is incredibly rich coming from me but I want this announcement to not get delayed. So when I say there will be a Maze Announcement before August 3rd, there will be a Maze Announcement before August 3rd

So does this mean a few of the IPs were delayed due to word getting out about them? Like how The Shining was leaked early or how AvED was leaked that it would be based on the 1st 2 movies not the show.

So, what is everyone's excitement level for the house lineup being speculated?

    My rankings:

    1--Shining

    2--Bayou of Blood

3--Harvest of the Souls (in both this and Shining, wind effects are a must--also, I think having the sound of a banjo playing "Brother Can You Spare A Dime" out front, think like in American Adventure, would be a really cool touch)

    4--Angels/Demons

5--Black Eyed Children (this is one in which a queue video would really help--newspaper clippings on reported sightings, to convey a sort of mystery as to whether they exist like any good urban legend)

    6--Ash v Evilness Dead

    7--Blumhouse

Tied last--AHS and Jigsaw (no desire to go in either of these two)

    My rankings:

    1-Harvest of Souls

    2-Shining

    3-Angel/Demons

    4-Bayou of Blood

    5-AHS

6-Vampires that may be children that's not a comedy house set inside the old Conjuring house...house

7-Ash vs Evil Dead (if it turns out to be the movies it will move up list)

    8- Blumhouse

    9-Jigsaw

*Also I'm going 1st week in Oct...or at least that's my plan. I haven't bought my tickets yet because I do not like buying before I have really anything to go on.

  4. hmm favorite scareactor moments.........one that comes to mind was in the 1st Halloween house in the room with all the Michaels. 1st Michael lunged a knife at my face and it came close. I jumped then the next 2 did the same and the 1st one I guess wanted to have another go so he ran across the room to the exit and lunged his knife back at my face.

2nd moment actually happened to my mom on her first HHN trip back in '13. We were walking toward central park SZ and they had stilt walkers (as they usually do). I suddenly hear her scream my name and goes bolting past me as like 2/3 stilt walkers came chasing after her.

Honorable mention: same year we both were waiting at the gate to go in and watching the zombies all bombard the gate. Well when they opened the gate the girl with the teddy bear was waiting a little ways back. Well my mom started walking in and of course the teddy bear zombie came up to her and my mom ran.....in a big circle. Next thing I know there is a line of zombies chasing my mom round and round till she runs off towards NY. Somewhere out there on is a video of this as many ppl were recording.

It's a shame Blumhouse doesn't have its own humanoid (CALM DOWN) icon. Their icon is a house. If they had, like, the equivalent of the boy fishing from the Dreamworks logo, they'd be set.

I read this and my mind went straight to a Humanoids from the Deep house, and how awesome it would be!

    .

  6. If the ED house focuses mainly on #2 I may walk through it going dead by dawn!!

Side note: I do see the annoyance of having essentially the same house as the one in '13 only with more humor. The thing that is making me excited for this potential house is just how much I love ED 1&2 (2 being my fav). Just seeing Ash with his chainsaw arm and hopefully telling me to shop smart shop S-Mart will make me smile so much. So I see the negatives but I see the positives too. Now if will just get officially announced already.

Id kill to see leave it to Cleaver again... LOVED that house. Was it last year or the year before the Meetz Meats guy was outside the exit to a house? Was it 25 years of M&M? that was awesome.

yeah it was in '15 he and Eddie were waiting outside the house.

Technically we also have our "mascot" announced which I guess might be the closest to an icon we get this year. I wish they would've had Cindy because the Orfanage seemed like a cool house and I wanna do it

That house gets a lot of hate, and it might be because it was my 1st year officially attending HHN after 2 previous failed attempts in '07 & '09, but I liked that house a great deal. The little kids reaching out at you from the walls and the fire effects were all top notch.

  9. I'm just going to sit back and let my excitement for HHN fade. I am usually super pumped for HHN around this

time because its so close, but this year...meh. We're in July now and have 2 houses announced. I will say I am enjoying the rebirth of speculation that's been happening lately. So please keep it up, its all I have to keep me going regarding HHN.

  10. So I read that next weds is when we will see another announcement. I think it will be our icon (more hoping than anything). What happens a lot on the 4th of July, family and friends get together. What family have I heard about that's being bounced around as a potential Icon(s) this year... oh yeah Dr. Albert Caine and his family. Having missed the year the Caretaker was the icon including HHN 16 I personally would love to see his return.

I have a question about Unmasking the Horror tour (in all the 10 years I've been going [I'm getting old :(] I've never done UTH), getting it as a surprise anniversary present for my Shining/Kubrick obsessed boyfriend, I was wondering how the 6 houses for the longer tour get chosen? I've decided on the 6 house tour mainly for The Shining- are the more popular IP houses usually chosen for the tours?

There are few factors that go into house selection such as space (Insidious was out because of this in '15 and TOA last year). They tend to try and go through the really popular IPs like AHS in '16 and in '14 Halloween and in '15 FvJ and a few originals. Most likely we will see Shining on this years list. As far as if it will happen in the morning or afternoon tours that I'm not sure.

Also on a side note (to complain a little) I'm seeing memories on like FB pop up about past house announcements and it's making me more upset that we've reached this dry spell with no communication from marketing. I understand if they don't want to announce a house, but maybe start teasing something. You can tell a major difference now that Mike is not tweeting much any more about HHN.

The first year I went to HHN was 2012 the first Sunday in October me and some friends were doing a bachelor party weekend and went to a Bucs game in Tampa and on the way back decided to go. We didn't get express, didn't even know it was a thing until I saw 2 lines for all the houses. The lines were pretty bad and one of my friends was dogging the event all night because of the waits. I Promised myself if I ever got to go back had get an express pass. Ive been lucky to go twice since and will never go again without an express pass. I only go for a weekend from New Orleans, so if I want to see everything and still enjoy everything I have to. I'm going this year and will definitely be getting express again.

ive never been on the UTH tour and was thinking of doing that also. Can someone give me an idea of how long is the tour? Any word if pics will be allowed?

Its split into 2 tours. The am and afternoon tour. both tend to be about 4 hours each, and if you do both together there is a lunch break in between. I finally had a chance to do a combo tour in 2015 and LOVED!! it. Run went from being a mediocre house for me to well still kinda mediocre but it was a lot more enjoyable knowing what was going on. You also learn about all the little details the design team puts into each house that you really cant see at night. Its also fun to play the game of what year was this prop from and finding all the easter eggs within the house (like the Dead Silence doll and Billy from Saw being ion the Dollhouse of the Damned house in '14 and the shark and Delorean toys in the graveyard in AWIL in '13).

  13. I tend to buy the express pass or do ROF+Express only because I've had to wait in those 1-2 hour lines and wish not to ever again. I will say last year I went with my wife and our 2 friends and I was the only one who had gone before, and they wouldn't listen to my tales of the long lines that could occur and the perks of the express pass. Ended up they left earlier because they didn't want to wait in long lines. This year I'm taking my mom (she's the reason I love horror so much) and my wife for like 5 days so we decided to save a little and not do express.

Also I was there the weekend the hurricane hit driving down from SC. Drove down the west coast to Tampa (hurricane was on east coast) to visit my dad then up the east coast home back towards the hurricane I just avoided.

  14. I like to look over old house videos and reviews from past HHNs, and sometimes commercials from past HHNs (idk why but this just pumps me up). Also if there is any IPs based on movies I haven't seen recently I will rewatch them to help me find those little details in houses.

  15. I also must be lucky because I have yet to really see any out right drunk people. I see people drinking, but never causing a scene. I did witness someone try and grab a scareactor in the FDTD house but security was waiting for them at the end of the house. also I'm with you both blinky cup is a must!

One big difference between the 2 is that Orlando sells alcohol at the event and Hollywood doesn't. Not to sound like an alcoholic (I only drink on occasions) , but I like to have a few drinks while walking around HHN and I think it's foolish of them to not sell alcohol.

I will say in 2013 when it was all TWD all over, alcohol helped me get a little more enjoyment out of the scarezones being nothing but zombies. Having the van stop next to me and unload zombies was cool.

We have a room called The Asylum, and we promote the fact that we can alter the "scare" level from 1-10 based on what the customer wants.  We've got some good effects in that room, not to mention an extremely immersive set design (we had one of our friends from Universal A&D help us with the set, so I'm not joking or bragging).  We also have one called The Ringmaster which isn't scary like the Asylum, but it's creepy.  If you go to our website and watch the videos, you'll see.  Haunt fans love our rooms.  It would be great to have our Nightmares family come and play.

I'm going down the 1st week of Oct for HHN. I will have to check with my wife and see if she'd like to go. This sounds really fun.
