    not famous enough.

as far as metal and popularity goes I think they should do a house based on Slipknot. Slipknot is probably one of the biggest metal bands of the last decade, everyone knows who they are or at least recognizes their masks. their music is played on mainstream radio and their concerts are very big. I can't think of any other recent band that would be as big and that would have the theatrics for a house (besides maybe Rob Zombie)

Im not even saying that as a slipknot fan or im not hoping they do a house on them because i love them or anything, I haven't really liked their last 2 cds and i dont listen to them often.

But their masks and their music videos and their theatrics would translate very easily for a house. visually they already resemble characters from a haunted attraction and the sets would be easy to do just following their music videos. I think Universal could have a popular house if they tried to get the rights for ahouse. (they could even sell the masks at the stores and make money that way as well)

I'm admittedly biased as a Misfits fan, but they're huge right now. Last show they got top billing over Rob Zombie. Even if not specifically Misfits, horrorpunk would still be cool. Something like Return of the Living Dead II. Zombies, Mohawks, chainsaws...

  2. This one is way out there, but I thought it was great when the Black Sabbath house was done. For music, the Misfits are working on a new album and tour. For those who aren't familiar, the Misfits are a punk band who's entire look and sound revolves around horror movies. I realize this is a stretch, but would be awesome. Horror Punk house!

What about HHN 18's houses?  They had some great originals, I thought.  Loved Body Collectors that year, Scary Tales and Dead Exposure.  That was my favorite year.  And yes, the zones were great, too!  It was also much less crowded that year, maybe due to the recession.

The event is definitely not what it was or doesn't have the same feel.  I have a FFP but it's mainly used now where HHN is the one time of the year that it breaks up the monotony of my work year for six weeks.  The only time when I venture out after work during mid-week.  But I'm not racing into the park like I have to see some house or zone again and again.  I still have fun attending.  It's just not like I used to feel when I couldn't wait for the event to start and was sad when it ended.

Was that picture from the dining experience?

    indeed

  4. I just got back from my first HHN and loved it. I went last Fri and Sat and thought all of the houses were great! It's pretty hard to scare me because I've been working at haunted houses since I was in 2nd grade and travel all over to see the best ones, but they were very entertaining and detailed! The only thing I didn't really like was all the alcohol/drunk idiots. Thinking about possibly checking out Hollywood next year. 14711175_10154122203332736_6359443372942

I'll be there Friday with bells on... well actually no not with bells (security would wrestle me to the ground for that). I will be there none the less so if you see a guy with a glowing purple tie (if that is allowed, they may consider it a garotte) say hi.

I fly to Orlando on the 13th and will be at HHN the 14th and 15th!

  6. Just throwing it out there, but I joined this board because I'm stoked to check everything out for my first time and get pointers and advice from everyone. Stopped checking this forum near as much because of the constant negativity. I think everything they've announced is awesome, but also get that I never got to see the years that people considered HHN in its 'prime.' Things may be different, but damn, at least let people check the employee sneak peak (or whatever it's called)! If you want to tell me to get fucked for being a nu-nee or whatever, that's fine, but I'm just giving an honest outside opinion.

No. AP party houses (parade and tent) open first, then the other tent. Then the rest of the houses. It used to be, being and AP holder, got you to see three houses before everyone else and it gave you a head start on the crowd. Now there are so many AP holders it really is kind of pointless. Kind of... Because you do get in early and will probably see a house before opening... probably. Still you end up following the massive AP crowd around and it ends up being more of an impedance than a benefit.

    Ah, thanks!
