  1. My point is that anyone in the park who says anything isn't a credible source. The only people who know anything are those who work directly with the event--and they aren't in the park. When information gets released to the public, THAT is when all of the everyday employees find out too. Anything else is 100% speculation/rumour that they probably picked up from boards like this one.

The 'bus driver' thing is a Disney thing, because Disney bus drivers LOOOOVE to talk about stuff that's 'definitely happening' to guests for some strange reason.

FYI, the fiancé and I visited Universal tonight and a team member all but officially confirmed the Scarecrow/Dustbowl house. I pressed him about others but he didn't know.

Was it a bus driver? They know EVERYTHING ;)

Agreed entirely. It's atrocious, period. I have not booked a flight yet. And I know others personally who haven't (or have stopped going).

If I wasn't a 3-minute walk away with free access I'd probably be questioning whether or not I was going, too. Like, today's hype is intriguing, but it doesn't tell me shit about whether or not I'll actually like hanging out there. :/

And the guy I thought looked like a pinhead could be a body collector...

Bottom left looks like one of the skulls from the original promo art, Catacombs maybe? And then bottom right seems like it fits for Bayou.

I hope these boxes don't coordinate with houses, because there are only six. So if they are IPs then that means we will have 8 ips and only 1 original. And if they are just all of the remaining houses, then that means we are losing a house entirely.

6 boxes, 33 days, maybe they are announcing one every 5 days? That would be nice after this dry spell.

  6. Okay, so there's a place to sign up w/email and physical address to get 'Soul collector' crap? Gave me a free wallpaper for signing up, looks like more 'rewards' are available as time goes on.

ETA, just a thought, are WE the Elite Soul Collectors? There are links to invite friends and it seems like a competitive thing. I'll be damned if they're using more interactive elements in order to market. Smart, but annoying

No icon. But there are the Elite Soul Collectors.

Also there is a Countdown on the Website for 34 Days which is Thursday August 3rd. Which I presume is the Full Reveal with Original Mazes, Scare Zones, and Shows.

    I really don't know how I feel about this. Seems....millennial. Ugh. :/

  8. AWIL 2.0 was my first HHN house EVER. Sadly, I saw next to nothing. Was too busy being a noob and staring at the floor while someone dragged me through. They need to do it again so I can go through alone, lol.

My only beef with the leaked lineup is what convoluted way all the IPs will be tied together, if at all. I know last year's excuse was WEAK, but would be super disappointed if icons and overall theming were dropped. That would 100% represent Marketing/corporate overstepping their bounds. Yeah, I go to HHN to be scared sometimes. But the lore and the backstory was what got me frantically Googling once I got home.

While we wait for an announcement (hopefully without withholding our breath)...

I wanted to mention I have been cast for HHN 27! I auditioned yesterday and was offered a role. I'd like to thank those of you on this forum who allowed me to blow up your inbox and helped answer my audition questions!

I wasn't told not to say anything about the audition, so I'll go ahead and mention one thing that stood out: They were asking if anyone would be willing to go completely bald for a role.

Congrats! A word of advice--anything that happens backstage is confidential for the most part. Nobody is outright looking for people to slip, but you never know what might be frowned upon. Hence why I do not peep about anything work-related anywhere ;)

Really.  They think psychopaths are offensive to people with mental disabilities.  News flash, SJWs: most people with mental disabilities are aware that psychopaths aren't meant to be stand-in for them.  In fact, censoring psychopaths because of people with mental disabilities is even more offensive than just having psychopaths.

Not to be that guy, but you've been talking to a multiply disabled and mentally ill person this whole time, and they REALLY need to drop the 'asylum' crap.

'Psychopaths' as you call them don't represent us because they are from the violent past, when you didn't see us in public because our families shut us away in places like that. Still happens today, just not so much anymore. So....yeah. If you aren't mentally ill, I would understand why you aren't offended, but don't go around saying it ISN'T a shitty trope that needs to die.

Me brain decided to finally start connecting dots.

While the Iniquitus still stand as a potential for the icon answer, I've found/remembered a far more likely group.

The Soul Harvesters from HHN 16 Harvest of the Souls.

They would fit perfectly into a Dust Bowl/Scarecrow house thus giving us an icon house.

Its a great way to bring some elements of Crowe's story to fruition without using a known unused character.

All the Reaper clues fit. As well as the desire for souls. Reaping is harvesting. Reapers are harvesters. Scythes can be used to reap corn. The Reaper carries a scythe. I can even think of a potential familial name, although it's not very imaginative, Grimm.

    Here's one of the harvesters:

    Halloween Horror Nights XVI

Oh man, is this what they re-worked to have in Evil's Roots in 25? Because I know someone who would flip if their character got to be an icon.

We have a room called The Asylum, and we promote the fact that we can alter the "scare" level from 1-10 based on what the customer wants.  We've got some good effects in that room, not to mention an extremely immersive set design (we had one of our friends from Universal A&D help us with the set, so I'm not joking or bragging).  We also have one called The Ringmaster which isn't scary like the Asylum, but it's creepy.  If you go to our website and watch the videos, you'll see.  Haunt fans love our rooms.  It would be great to have our Nightmares family come and play.

We were at the same conference and same tour.  It's possible we talked to each other and didn't even know it.

Owner to owner - if you want to play our room when you're in town, please private message me

THANK YOU Alice!  You really should play The Ringmaster at least.. you could handle it.. maybe. :)

I did that one, actually! And my boyfriend swore up and down it wasn't scary...yeah, that didn't work out too well. But I don't blame y'all for it. Not to spoil it for everyone, but be aware if you do go, HHN lovers will like it ;)

We travel from Chicago for multiple HHN weekends every year.  We've been doing this since 2005.  It is, hands down, my favorite event and my favorite time of year.  We are fortunate to have a family condo in the area which allows us to do the multiple thing.  FYI - for those traveling, if you ever want to do multiple weekends like that, I would highly recommend looking into renting a condo in the Kissimmee area (only 20 mins to the park).  You can get them VERY cheap at that time of year.

Just had to comment about Hell's Gate - it's a GREAT haunt.  The guy who owns/runs it is a friend of mine, and he's one of the smartest, kindest, weirdest people I know.  I just love him.  We were thrilled when Hell's Gate finally opened as it has been a labor of love for him for a few years.  He also runs Statesville Prison haunt which is about 10-15 mins drive from Hell's Gate.  I would highly recommend both haunts.

If you'd like another scary escape room when you come in for HHN, please come visit us at www.dare2escape.com  I dare you to play The Asylum.  We are going to be running discounts for all our Nightmares friends during HHN.  This invite goes to ALL of you.

You're involved with that? Dang, had no idea. Yes, if you like scary things, try their rooms. I'm a fan of the family-friendly one myself, not so much the other ones, but that's just because I'm a wuss who only openly likes being scared at HHN, lol.

I imagine that they browse these forms and laugh at all of us grasping at straws.  Like that time someone tried to analyze a license plate.

You know, the funny part is I KNEW it was a standard-issue plate. My plate's from October. It's 'HNR'. So whoever's plate that was just happened to register it a touch earlier than I did to get 'HHN', because they are in alpha-numeric order. Case closed.

Oh, ffs. I may be a millennial myself but I am getting damn tired of these kids in Marketing being cute on HHN social. This is just silly. Stop dodging questions and announce more than an IP a month. >.<
