Based on your comment I went to youtube and looked for another video. And, you are right. There were a lot more effects than in the first video I saw. I guess maybe the effects were not on during that first show.
Still, it looks to be as expected.Yea not much different than expected. I see it being something kinda cool to watch once for the 15 minutes it lasts and that is about it

I just spent 10 minutes of my Saturday morning watching the YouTube video of the Lagoon Marathon of Mayhem.
I have really made a massive mistake here. I've watched this without my wife and I am going to have to sit through this again.
When I speculated, back in August, that this would be a 100% dud, a commercial for the houses, and it would not provide any additional content.....I was only slightly wrong. It is not a commercial for the houses, per say. There is a scene of some classic monsters, but the rest is what looks like old VCR info projected onto the facade of buildings and music, lights, and water jetting into the sky.
Truly it is horrifying that I may have to watch this again. You must have seen a pretty horrible recording if that is what you got out of it

Which podcast? I'm always looking for a new haunt podcast that isn't Scarezone.
We are an entertainment podcast in general but we talk A LOT of HHN. It is called Nick and Jason’s Excellent Podcast. Thanks for the interest

Just got the press release that all tickets are on sale now, but the website hasn't been updated.
EDIT - The site is slowly updating with ticket info. I'm guessing a noon launch (about 10 minutes from now). It also says Rush of Fear (the pass I usually get) is for the first 17 nights which is all the dates in September. Probably means it's gonna be a lot more expensive..
ORLANDO, Fla. (June 6, 2019) – Prepare to be totally terrified…
On the heels of last year’s immensely popular event, the ‘80s will return with a vengeance to Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights. All-new horrifying experiences inspired by some of the biggest frights of the era will invade the world’s premier Halloween event – offering no escape from the decade that just won’t die. Guests will face 10 elaborately themed haunted houses based on everything from Netflix’s “Stranger Things,” Universal Pictures’ legendary “Universal Monsters,” plus other cinematic greats and crazed cult favorites, to original abominations created by the twisted minds of Universal’s Entertainment team. They’ll navigate five sinister scare zones throughout the park, each filled with menacing scareactors. And when they need a break from the scares, guests can enjoy Universal Studios’ most exhilarating rides and attractions.
More details about this year’s event will be revealed soon.
With a plethora of different ticket and vacation packages on sale now, guests can experience this year’s Halloween Horror Nights their own way by customizing their visit. Guests can save up to $53 on a Halloween Horror Nights single night ticket when booking online and experience more horror each night with a multi-day ticket. Florida resident vacation packages are also available and include accommodations at Universal’s newest hotel – Universal’s Endless Summer Resort – Surfside Inn and Suites – one-night admission ticket to Halloween Horror Nights, tickets to Universal Orlando’s theme parks and more. Plus, guests can upgrade their experience with the Halloween Horror Nights Express Pass and more.
Halloween Horror Nights runs on select nights from September 6 to November 2 at Universal Studios Florida. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit www.HalloweenHorrorNights.com
How do you get on the list to receive press releases? We have a podcast that the last episode was listened to by 77,000 people. I was hoping that would be enough to get us the press releases and maybe even eventually an invite to media day

That’s awesome man.Thank you so much Glad you listen and you like it. . Love hearing that. We already planned on recording an episode tonight so with this announcement we definitely will be. Would love to hear your feedback.

Off topic but if anyone on this forum is at the event this year and sees two guys wearing “Nick and Jason’s Excellent Podcast” shirts come up to us and say hi and tell us you are from the forum. We decided we are going to have special gifts for forum readers since we have been enjoying this forum for a few years now.

Everyone seems to be acting like we are behind in announcements. Correct me if I am wrong please but aren’t we still ahead on announcements even compared to last year which was the earliest we had ever gotten announcements before ?

What is a open floor plan?
From what I have gathered from my wife’s obsessive watching of HgTV it is when you can see the kitchen from your living room and they are all the rage right now lol

It's no longer set up like that on the website. Also, I guess it all depends on if you consider Universal Monsters an IP or Original (it's a little bit of both).
Interesting. I haven’t checked the website in a while. Someone asked that exact question on Twitter to Aeilo and he said it is considered an IP house. I love the fact it is considered one of the IP’s cause to me it feels more like an original so basically in my head we get one more original this year than I was expecting

Plus if it was considered and original it would make the split even more skewed and 6 originals 4 Ips. However if it is not set up like that on the website any more then my point is moot
-
My issue with the speculation map is that the website seems to make it pretty clear it will be a 6 IP /4 original split this year. The map is showing a 5/5 split

Stranger things 2
Halloween
AHS
Ghostbusters
Gremlins

Anyone in here heard anything about this Uni survey that supposedly accidentally went out early and had a list of all the IPs coming this year?

I could be completely wrong but I just got a sense that they said it was during a drought as an excuse for why the gladiator games were going on for so long that the ground was drenched in blood. Therefore attracting the Nightingales. Thatvwas a very superstitious time so having the games go nonstop and sacrificing that many gladiators to the gods seems like something they could have done in hopes for the gods blessing them with rain.

I went to 13th Gate in Baton Rouge, LA - yeah, HHN's "detail" and "scares" are abysmal compared to that place.
We get it. You don't like the event anymore. You are critical and your opinion is wiser than all of ours

I personally think that the oversell atmosphere and scare zones were better last year but the houses are MUCH better this year.

Because they didn't spend a ton of money and years of development on making the VR look awesome?
Honestly it seems like you're trying to find any reason to dismiss everything this event does as a dumb cash grab while you're in the middle of handing them your money over and over again.
Welcome to his M.O.

But due to ADA rules, they can't require proof to get one. So you can pretty much give any reason why you can't stand in line, and get one.
Yea so you can pretty much lie if you want to be an absolutely horrible human being and lie to take advantage of a law made to help the disabled

I'll keep it short since I don't want to ruffle any feathers. Experience the event, then make your critiques.
How exactly do you expect us to walk through an entire event , 9 houses, 5 scare zones and enjoy it when really all we can think about is just how plain the billboard is we saw once two weeks ago?

I think to 80% of the Hhn going population the icon didn't overshadow the I.P.'s even last year
-
Still no list of rides that will be open though? Wasn't that on last years map?

Let's hope it stays the whole event. Someone always has to ruin everything for everybody else because they got "offended." I don't know why these people can't just look away and ignore it. It didn't physically hurt them so why even complain. Those are the people that don't need to come to the event.
I have two words for you that created these people that think everything has to cater to them....... Participation trophies

Rumors of this house having a "chase exit" similar to TCM in 09 ( I believe). There are half walls build in maze form outside at the exit of the house that have now been painted black so get seem like they will be used as part of the house
