I don't know why, but I'm still unable to easily upload a photo onto this website. I click on insert other media and insert existing attachment, but it doesn't let me add an attachment :(

Try it in a different web browser if you can. Alternatively, you can upload a picture to imgur (or another image hosting site of your choice) and paste the BBCode (sometimes listed as just "Forums") in your comment.

  2. Updated. Also removed the meetup tag ("M") as it's assumed that by posting in the meetup thread, that you'd be ok with potentially meeting up with members. If you'd still like to include your attendance, but would not be able to meet up (due to spending the event with family/friends, etc.) then include that in your post. It's less work to mark people who would not like to/are unable to meet up, than those would/are.

Feel free to update whenever you'd like, as often as you'd like. I just put you down for opening weekend for now.

Put me down for every night for now, I'll usually spend at least an hour out there each night.

Most weeknights I'll pop in for Stay N' Scream after my shift, weekends depends on how stingy security is about us walking in from the back...but I'll be there. :)

Unsure what you consider weeknights (some consider Fridays, some consider Sundays) but let me know and I'll add stay and scream for those nights. Just going to leave it at M/E/D for the time being.

This would be the greatest house of all time! I ride GMR JUST for the Alien and Indiana Jones sections

I worked GMR for a brief stint at Disney several years ago and going through the Alien scene was always my favorite. I still go every time I'm at DHS.

I did it last year and I think it was my favorite thing we did (besides the houses) at HHN! The food wasn't amazing, but the character interactions were terrific!! The only one that spoke was Chance and she was super sweet, the rest of the scareactors still did a great job interacting though. They also all spent a lot of time with us, and we weren't rushed through dinner, which I really appreciate. I'm excited to do it again this year I just haven't booked it yet, but only cause I'm not sure whether to do it the first night or not.

I would definitely give it a try though if you're interested, it's pricey but a lot of fun!

This sounds pleasant, and like something that I should try at least once if anything just to say I did it. Thanks for the info, I haven't really heard anything about this before.

  5. Yeah I wouldn't say I'm excited about it. Just more interested than our other options.

However, The Shining has me hyped past the point of hype and it better not let me down. I don't typically care for houses based on IPs but The Shining is one of my top 5 favorites so I'm curious to see what they do with it and I may spend my entire opening night going through it as many times as possible to catch all of the details.

The only IP I think that would surpass hype for The Shining would be an Alien house themed around the first movie, aboard the Nostromo. Hnnnng.

Saw is right above a Walking Dead house, in my opinion. The only reason it's not on the same level is because it hasn't been done for 5 straight years.

Yeah pretty much. I'd put Saw above Freddy/Jason/Michael though too imo, for being less generic than a slasher. I know, I know, BLASPHEMY! I don't really think the Saw houses are particularly scary either, but I do like seeing the sets and how they do the traps. It's fun.

    Zombieman: M/E/D (UTH tour 9/23 - Morning/Afternoon, Guide=David)

    Sept 21-24

Grime, you need to provide a way to let people know what day they will be doing UTH.

For me, I'll be doing the morning and afternoon tour with David as the guide, on the 23rd.

I'll add a section for tour info when I get some time this afternoon. It probably won't be every single date/time like the normal schedule, but I'll list people doing tours in chronological order towards the end of the post. Thanks for the suggestion

  8. I think Jimmy would be a cool guy to hang out with. He seems pretty down to earth. However, his comedy is not exactly for me.

I still haven't been on the attraction (haven't been to the parks since it opened) but unless it's at a walk on, I probably won't give it a chance otherwise. Twister was clearly dated, but I still enjoyed that attraction because it was classic, and I remember going with my parents when I was young. Brought back good memories.

  9. There was some discussion in the Speculation thread about an attendance thread. Shoutout to Dreamstalker for making the thread back in 2009, which I ripped this from and made some adjustments. I don't think we've had one of these in the last few years, but I figured I'd give it a shot.

    HALLOWEEN HORROR NIGHTS 27

Official Horror Night Nightmares Attendance List

If you are going to HHN this year and know the nights you are visiting, then make a post with those dates as well as any of the letters from the Key below that apply to you.

Please try to post only if you are mostly certain you will be attending that night. If you need to make an update to add or remove nights, please make a new post! I do not get alerted when you edit an existing post. When you want to make changes, make a new post so I see it. I will attempt to update at least once per day.

Feel free to use this thread to organize meetups for specific nights as well.

    Key

S = Stay and Scream (Annual Pass or Parks during the day)

    E = Express Pass

    D = Legal Drinking age

Frequent Fear Pass nights are in Orange

Frequent Fear Plus nights are in Red

Ultimate Frequent Fear is valid every night

I can't make a new post without it merging, so here is the format your post should be in. Doesn't have to be exact, just make sure I can understand it.

Another late post in this thread, but was curious if anyone knew where to find Halloween Horror Nights 26 merchandise besides ebay? I'm on the hunt for a few items that I could not get last year, especially one in particular, since they sold out SO FAST!

Ebay is pretty much it. Sometimes I'll find one or two things at thrift shops in CenFla but not often.

Although I didn't get to make it out last year. I may still go this year if funds are permitting since I work right down the road, just as an excuse to hang out after work on Fridays. Maybe take some pictures and people watch, have some drinks.

    We'll see.

Usher, Director, and Caretaker are the only Icons that are worth a damn for HHN imo.

I wouldn't go so far as to say they're the only ones "worth a damn" but they're certainly my favorites. It may also just be coincidence that 2002, 2003 and 2009 were my favorite years.

I would still prefer to see some new Icons though. Like, completely new. Not tied to lore (Lady Luck, Bloody Mary) or other characters (Chance) or past events (Eddie).

    Give me something fresh damnit.

    Mildly off-topic, but

Today I learned inspecting a web page in chrome and CTRL+F for "jack" and other various terms, or just skimming the page, makes someone an "experienced code reader."

    Give me a fucking break.

Back to the topic though, I agree with Badge on the portion of giving some of the lesser icons a little limelight. I personally don't care for Chance, and would prefer Jack alone. Just my 2 cents. But if we are getting a ton of TV and Movie houses, the Usher or Director would be a good pick.

But I could always use more Usher or Director, regardless.

  14. In regards to your "Uncharted waters" clue, that could just mean "something that hasn't been done before." Which could be anything. Idk. I'm always skeptical about these sorts of things until we get an official word anyway.

Volcano Bay is water-themed, opening in May, and is "uncharted" in more ways than one. But I can't imagine them incorporating a water park with an alcohol-fueled horror event at all. A 4-month old (at the time of the event) one at that.

Edit: Didn't see   "I'm not sure if Hollywood is in on the fun. I would suppose that they would be. All things considered."

So Hollywood could not be in on the fun if that were the case anyway. It was a hell of a stretch though.

    The speculation continues onward...

To be fair, King's work hasn't had the most clean transition to screen.  The only three stories with good adaptations are The Shining, Carrie, and IT, and King hated the former.

Which sucks because The Shining is one of my favorite horror/thriller films of all time, up there with Alien.

I would kill for an IT themed house though. That's a good thought about the movie coming up in September. I'll keep a mental note and see if anything pops up.
