  1. Then some kind of "easter egg" contest where if you get your picture taken with all 54, you get a limited edition shirt declaring you a dealer.

If you get your picture taken with all the face cards, aces, and jokers you get some plastic necklace that has a deck of cards on it.

I think this would be discouraged since the actors are there to scare and not for photo ops. Yes some will pose but they are not required to.

  2. So we're getting some sort of a gambling/casino theme. I'm excited about it, the only negative feelings I really have are the lack of surprise. I really think this year has a lot of potential, I'm interested in what kind of icon, if any, we're going to have with this.

Also, the HHN Facebook page just posted this:

You are captivated by an intense desire to tempt fate. Your heart races. Your nails dig into your thigh. The taste of blood is on your tongue as you bite down on your lip. Your eyes shift wildly as you contemplate the risk. Desire seduces you…and you forget that the House always wins.
  3. My wishful thinking right now isn't much to ask. I know that A&D is the best there is when it comes to making haunt events, and I just hope we get a quality event this year, with 8 houses and 6 scarezones, a nice variety in theming, and a fun build up to September, since that's half the fun!

  4. I've never been one to enjoy pop music at all, but I like how it is starting to get more influences from electronic music.

LMFAO Party Rock Anthem and Afrojack - Take over control are two examples of this.

I really hope this trend continues. I'm not the kind of person who gets upset if the type of music they likes starts going more mainstream. It just means I'm going to get to hear things I like more often :)

My hair conditioner smells like the E.T. queue line.

I kind of want to know what it is now, so I can spray my room with it. lol

  5. That is also why the floor in that hallway sloped down so drastically. This would have been a killer scare if it had, in fact, worked out.

That's interesting. I always thought the only purpose was to get you back down on the floor of the soundstage, since the first part of the house was elevated to make room for the "under the floor" scare.

  6. Okay, I wanted to comment on a lot of the things on your list. The things I've struck-through I can't see being there this year.

It sounds like you're probably right about most of those. I thought that a mention of Friday would be inevitable, but people have pretty much gotten tired of it by now. I'm expecting to see Charlie Sheen though.

  7. it still baffles me to this day that Legendary Truth did not have an actor hanging, if any house needed that type of scare it was Legendary truth, and they didn't ( maybe they had a reason)

I watched a video of the UTH tour through Legendary Truth, and I remember them mentioning that there was a certain part of LT that had nothing going on, but they originally had planned to have a ghost swoop down on you from above. I don't remember why they didn't go through with it though.

    Dead Exposure - Under/Over scare

    As for the fire codes.

At least 5 permits have been pulled that address last year's problems with the inspector and implies the possibility of ceilings.

I do not have access to the permit site right now so I am unable to supply you with the permit numbers.

This is very interesting. I'm glad to see I wasn't the only one who had complaints about the lack of ceilings.

  8. I AGREE TO DEAL WIT THAT M,ANU DRUNK ASS HOLES,ILL NEED A FEW DRINKS SO I DONT BLOW UP ON THEM.and to be honest i wish fl, would riase the drinking age to 25 cause some people cant handle it.hell if i was drunk as hell i woul;dnt act like an ass i would juist leave the park,so i didnt ruin other guest time there.

You sure you weren't drunk when typing that? :P

  9. I really liked the font used in your sig, so I used it for your avatar as well. Without much to go off of I decided to keep the crow in your new avatar and use some grunge/blood brushes to complete the look. I also made it transparent, like your sig.

I added a glow around the bird since it might not be visible on some monitors. Take your pick.

I made this pretty quickly so if you'd like something else that's fine.

  10. Edit: Just had a little chat with a certain someone. I'm predicting a minor site update (ticket information, RIP, etc.) early next week.

Honestly I just want the event dates and ticket prices. They can hold off on clues for a while but they need to get this damn generic site up now!

  11. This may be a stupid question, but does anyone know why they serve alcohol at the event? I doubt the people attending are on some sort of extreme liquor-binge or anything like that. Meh, the point of it just goes right past my head...it seems like, by not allowing alcoholic beverages, that there might be a few less drunk d-bags running around.

It's an adult event, and a lot of adults enjoy drinking alcohol. Not to mention Universal makes a ton of money off of it. Yes, some people don't know how to handle themselves at an event like this while under the influence, but that's what security is for, and why Universal is so strict about it.

  12. Also, why are they called mazes? They hardly feel like mazes. They feel like, "Oh hey, follow the path given and get scared in the process." But I love them none-the-less. And I suspect it would be terribly difficult to make them actually more maze-like.

You are supposed to feel "trapped" like if you were in a maze. As if you can't find your way out. At least that is how they are designed to make you feel. Yes they are linear and you can't really get lost, but I guess that's why HHN calls them houses and doesn't really use the word maze.

  13. I just got done watching 'The Decent' for the third time and, I must say, this movie would be absolutely spectacular as a house. They could set the story up a few different ways--"you" are leading an expedition into the undiscovered cave system to uncover what keeps happening to those that descend into it and bring it to the public eye. The costumes/makeup would probably be the hardest part, however I've seen much crazier...and I know Universal would be able to pull it off (with the help of a lot of scare actors, that is). Claustrophobia could be a primary focus, what with the cave and all. The creatures in this movie scare the sh*t outta me, and the thought of them being brought to "life" would be amazing. Anyone with me on this one?

I love the idea of claustrophobia in a house, and even though I've heard they were a capacity nightmare, I'd love for them to bring the inflatable walls back. But unfortunately it's hard to do small spaces because the houses need to be wheelchair accessible. This still could be compensated for by hanging extra stuff in your face (which they already do).

The descent was a great movie too. Lots of jump scares that you don't get in too many movies anymore.

  14. All I know is that all this secrecy had better be worth it. If the theme turns into some lame-duck rehash I'm going to be pissed.

That's how I feel as well. I'm worried that with all this hype and talking about "A New Era of Darkness", we're going to find out what this year is and people are going to be let down. I still have faith in A&D and won't make a judgement on the event until I actually go to it myself, of course.

  15. LOL! i am guilty! :o

    why do they annoy you?

well, I post in the games frequently but, I like our games,

I love reading the answers to my questions and i love thinking of new questions to make,

is really neat, I belong to other forums and none of them have games, is also a pretty cool way to interact with one another, reading what everyone comes up, I like playing them here, I guess they could seem annoying since only some members play but, i think the games are interesting

I've gotten used to it and it doesn't bother me too much anymore, I just use the "View New Content" button to look for new posts, and as people started to create new games more and more I would have to keep fishing through the games posts to find the topics I wanted to read. It's really no big deal.

  16. because the event become so big IOA couldnt handle the crowds, and they couldnt use suess landing.i would like to see them use both parks again.

I'd love to see them use IOA since I've never experienced the even there before, but I don't think it will be put in IOA or in both parks again unless some majors things change.

As it's been said a bunch of times before, they can't use Seuss landing OR Potter, which basically makes the half of the park closest to USF useless. since Disney owns Marvel now that might pose some problems too. The only parts of IOA even usable anymore are Jurassic Park and the tiny remains of Lost continent. We all would love to see scarezones in Jurassic Park again but it just doesn't seem logical.

  17. Just wondering, are they planning to have open ceiling plans again for the houses? I would love it if they went back to closed ceilings (they did that, I think) because I found the open ceilings quite distracting and they take away from the overall atmosphere; LT house had open ceilings.... In a house....'it just didn't work- I could see the stage lights and everything. I just hope they can consider closing off ceilings where appropriate. Tell me, did this only occur in soundstage houses, or all houses?

I really hope not, but there's no way we will know until we start going through the houses. I was one of the people that was really bugged by the open ceiling houses as well, and most of them last year were like that. It was just more noticeable in the soundstages because the ceilings are so much higher. Unfortunately, we may see this again this year, because there are certain advantages to building houses this way, such as saving money by using the same lights for more than one room.
