Then what's the benefit of paying extra for the stay and scream?
You aren't paying extra for Stay and Scream, you are paying extra to add on HHN to your normal day ticket.

Maybe it was just because I was with you for pretty much all of opening weekend, but I pretty much agree with everything you said here 100%
Great review, and nice job putting it together with pictures and a rating system too!

You can't find your way through the yarn room and actors in there scared you? I thought the costumes didn't blend in well and the room was very easy to navigate.
I meant that I couldn't find my way through the dark parts of the house. The yarn room was never a problem to navigate. I don't understand the actor's costumes in there either. Why have a costume of squiggly lines when the rest of the room is nothing but straight lines?

I wasn't a big fan of the show this year. It was way better than last year, but 2009 was better than both combined.
It wasn't that the jokes weren't funny, I just hated the characters (Except the ones from sucker punch...lol) The alien villain was extremely annoying, and so were the smurfs. The only part I really enjoyed was the video in the beginning showing what you've missed.

7246?
When it rains at HHN, I usually will take shelter in a store and wait it out. I hate getting soaked, and ponchos just cost way too much. That's if I'm lucky enough to not be in a long line...if I'm in a long line, then I'm pretty much screwed, and I'll wait it out, and enjoy a nice cold walk through the house once I finally get in.

I usually will lean back in the other direction, often smiling at the same time. The amount that I jump back and how fast I do it depends on how startled I got. I usually don't make any noise, but I might yell WHOA or something of the sort. It takes a good distraction and an aggressive scareactor to make me jump, but when it happens I always smile as I jump back. Often giving a thumbs up to whoever got me so good.
Inside of "The In-Between" I use profanity from the start of the first room to the end.
I did this as well my first time through that house.
And after this last trip to HHN, I've noticed that after a few drinks, I DO scream.

Got the hoodie and love it! It's very soft and comfortable, and I like the simple design.

To the people who said this house was short, I'm wondering if they went through the same house I did. While the sets sometimes felt a little repetitive, The Forsaken definitely is a decent length house. The eyes never turning off doesn't seem like a major issue to me either. I've had good runs and bad runs through this house, but it definitely has improved since Employee Preview.

I got to experience this house the best way possible on Saturday night. First in line, during the day when my eyes hadn't adjusted to the dark. Some rooms were absolutely impossible to make it through without someone to follow! I literally had to stumble through with my arms out in front of me, running into walls. Every single scare startled the crap out of me because I was lost and had no idea where they are coming from. That is the perfect way to experience a haunted house at HHN.

This house has some amazing sets. Especially the room with the thing in the ceiling, and the spaceship at the end. I personally enjoy the loudness.

It's not a different number this year. I texted "Tonight" (not in all capitals) on employee preview night and I got wait time updates for this year's houses throughout the night. Unless Universal says something about a new number later tonight, I'm guessing they will be using the same one this year.

I'm not normally a facebook hater. When people usually complain about facebook, it annoys me. But the changes to the news feed in the last few days seem to have no purpose other than to make it harder for me to read every post my friends make. Until last night, when I read about timeline. Timeline is AMAZING. I've actually wanted a way to do what timeline does for a very long time now. Thank you facebook for finally making a change that IMPROVES facebook.

can you please exaplin what they look like?
They really don't look like anything. They are completely black. There are two that are a very strange shape but the rest are all black human shapes.

For those who feel like the Ops ruin houses for them, they should be pleasantly surprised this year. It seems like Universal is getting better at putting them in places that are out of the way because I hardly saw any when going through the tent houses and the parade building. None of them were even waving us through, except for in The Thing.
-
After going through the house last night, I feel like all of the worries about PTSD for this house were unnecessary. I honestly feel like there would be more of an issue when walking through The Thing than Nightingales.
The Thing has two scenes where very loud gun effects are used. In one scene, a lady points a handgun directly at guests with a loud gunshot e prompt. Nightingales does have a room near the end with a machine gun, but other than that, it wasn't nearly as "warlike" as I expected.

I walked through this house during a cast change, and I still loved loved it! Saws n Steam is really great for a Jaws house. It felt like tent quality.
-
This seems like it will end up being the "fun" zone this year. I didn't get a chance to see the costumes at different times during the night, but still, think people who had low expectations for 7 will be pleasantly surprised.

Went through all eight houses tonight and this one, no lie, was my favorite by far. Went through is twice and it is better in the day because it's much darker. The 3D is very well done and the scares were extremely effective because you can almost never see where the booholes are.
There is a room in this house that feels like it has no floor. It's an amazing effect. I literally stopped in my tracks and my mind wasn't able to process what I was seeing.

If you are unfamiliar with some of Poe's stories, and want to read some of them to possibly enjoy this house more, they are all in the public domain and can be read here for free: http://poestories.com/stories.php

How do you subscirbe to this? This would be extremely helpful since there's very few places where wait times are posted throughout the park.
Text "Tonight" to 64646. At least that was how it was done the last two years.
-
For the last two years, I've been subscribing to the nightly wait time updates on my phone, even on the nights I wasn't attending. I wrote down all the numbers and based on what I've seen, the second weekend of HHN is the least crowded. I'm guessing that Thursday September 29th will have the some of the shortest lines this year.

It's what's on the print ad; "Come Try Your Luck."
I was actually under the impression that this year didn't have a tagline at all. That it was just Halloween Horror Nights 21. I've actually seen the phrase "Your Fate is in Her Hands" more than "Come Try Your Luck" anyway.

It must be a newer teenage fad...because I don't remember in my teenage years (i.e. the stone age) kids dressing like that, especially here in Florida! It was too damn hot to wear anything but shorts, t-shirts and flip flops. We had that random cold day in January, but to wear a hoodie in the middle of the summer..oh hell no, I'd pass out from heat exhaustion...LOL
I hate the heat, I'm very much a cold person, yet I really love wearing hoodies. Not around the house or outside, but if I'm going out to some place I will usually wear a hoodie if it's nighttime.
If there was a HHN hoodie I would wear it a lot more often than I would wear a single shirt.

I can't believe nobody has even mentioned this before, but in a house full of holidays...where is Halloween?
