I wonder if the duck and crouch room was designed by A&D to specifically see how many drunk people can make it through this section without beating the living shit out of themselves.
I can see it now, people walking around with black and blue marks on their foreheads...and other people pointing and being like "House of Horrors" right?

To be fair both videos dont give much away. Silent Hill is lights on and no scareactors and Dead End is so dark you can barley seen anything. Both look good though cant wait!
He's right...the videos really don't give much away at all. So for those of you who dying to see them but are afraid that your going to ruin your initial experience with each house, no need to fret, that will not happen. So, come on, give into peer pressure and watch them, all us cool kids are doing it....

TOTAL pipe dream and most likely NOT possible....but since the event hasn't started yet and it's all about speculation:
The RV always looked like it was stuck in an odd spot in the Disaster queue. Like even in pics/vids from last week, it looks just stuck there with nothing like fake trees or anything around it. Imagine if they wheeled it out prior to the event (not each night, they just haven't done it yet) and put it out there. With characters from the show on the roof with shotguns or whatever (this didn't really happen on the show, so it's creative liberty and flies in the face of the 'licensensed characters in/outside of the house' argument) fighting off a horde of zombies that swarm the RV. The crowd of us gather to watch, and then the zombies "notice" us and come running. That would be AWESOME. The characters climb down, stomp around with shot guns firing every so often to scare the $#!+ out of you, then climb back up on top and it starts all over again.
It's like a Scare Zone and a mini-show all in one.
<<Totally uniformed wishful thinking speculation over>>
Best totally uninformed wishful thinking speculation. EVER.

I think he looks pretty cool. He doesn't fit the Warrior description AT ALL. S&M, very much so.
Now that I've looked at the pictures, I have to agree, the Warrior costume isn't what I expected at all...but it is unique and something different. (And I still think they need to bust out in an interpretive dance of some sort...)
The beast costumes themselves might not be much, but they could be leaving them bland so as to focus on the facial prosthetics and makeup.
-
The fact Xanadu and Dance Fever were both referenced in the same sentence made me laugh. Yeah I dont think anyone was expecting this from the Beast SZ. Everyone (including me) was expecting Werewolf like creatures. Then again, weve only seen one costume. The Warrior looks amazing though. Not what I expected (Nordic Dragon type warriors), but still cool.
Oh, see I looked at the pictures and didn't realize the Warriors were the ones that looked like they were going to be doing interpretive dances...and the beasts are wearing the potato sack style costumes.

I dont know what to say about the "Beast" costume.
It's like Dance Fever meets Xanadu meets a leotard with beast print...

So some little girl named sophia will get lost and wait by the car
We can only hope so It would be even cooler if a kid by the name of Carl came by and told her to follow him....

One room that seems to be missing from our (Orlando) maze is the God Forgive Us room (which they showed in the Hollywood walkthrough).
This is the room that Rick stumbles upon in the Pilot episode (a little farmhouse I believe), where the occupant inside has blown his head off with a shotgun and someone has written 'God Forgive Us' on the wall in blood.
It was a chilling scene in the show and after watching the video, I felt like HHN Hollywood recreated it very well. I'm gonna miss that scene at our event but at least I got to see it in the video (before those bastards made it private)
I completely agree, that scene would've been a great room to have here in Orlando....very chilling as you stated and resonates the overall mood of that first episode.
I think they are sticking to more iconic scenes throughout the house, those which stood out to even the avid viewer of the program. But again, it was an amazing moment in the pilot episode and I'm happy to see that HHN Hollywood is using it and they did such a great job of recreating it!

The car has been updated with a shoe polish message from season two of TWD that says "Sophia Stay Here We Will Come Everyday".
-
Two concerns over all this:
1.) Holy Crap the are marketing the heck out of TWD! All the people this is reaching... worries me about crowds.
2.) If they keep giving spoilers of the houses... I think it will lessen the impact for some people. (Not me I like the Behind the scenes stuff).
I'm hoping that if people who watch TWD come out, they will come out just for that house and perhaps not loiter around or be interested in the rest of the event and just leave....
A girl can dream can't she?
Lol nah... well maybe haha jk
I would pay good money to a picture of you standing next to the doors with a thing of paint swatches in your hand....LOL

I am chill???? Lol I'm just saying what I observed, and that's it. Lol
Cool... Your response just seemed like you were REALLY concerned about those doors being the exact color! Like I was afraid you might bust out a paint color swatch from Lowes or something...

There is an article on the Orlando Sentinel's website covering the Walking Dead house. At the end of the article they talk about the ending scene being the barn, but then they say something that caught my eye.
Quote
The barn, with burning smell, ends the house — unless you count the hordes of walkers outside in the new free-form scare zone at this year’s HHN.
Ill let you guys ponder.
Article Link: http://blogs.orlando...ror-nights.html
I noticed this as well...and obviously considering how the episode "Beside the Dying Fire" ended it would make perfect sense. The barn burning down behind us as we enter into the hoard that was swarming the farm as everyone fled the scene.
I'll ponder this in the best possible scenario...

2) The final room of this house will feature the most number of scareactors ever had in a single room. Good luck getting out.
*Begin prayer to the HHN line gods*
When going through this house, please for the love of all things holy, do not let me ever get stuck behind a group of teenage girls who repeatedly backup and scream when attempting to go through this final room. I may just have to be the catalyst that shoves them all through it.
*End prayer to HHN line gods*

I never said that was my BIGGEST concern, but when it's something as simple as doors I would think they can match them perfectly, since the "Dont open dead inside" doors are iconic to the show. THAT is why it's a CONCERN.
Dude, chill, they are just doors...
Look at it this way, it's going to be dark when you go through the maze so the color of the doors probably won't be as noticeable. And while the doors are iconic to the show, I don't think the color variation will make a dramatic difference in whether or not you enjoy the experience.

Heard the radio ad for the event for the first time today...nice to know that some external marketing has begun outside of the Publix displays!

We've got a plethora of amazing user names on this forum, some obvious in their meaning, others not so much.
So tell us why you chose your user name and the meaning behind it! Regardless of how psycho of a response you provide, we all promise not to judge you. Too much
My user name meaning is very simple, it's the title of my favorite Buffy the Vampire Slayer episode that included "The Gentleman" aka "The Body Collectors".
O.k....your turn!

I can take or leave the icon concept. After attending the event for all these years, I've come to the realization that a main character to tie the event together is not necessarily what makes the event. While an icon is a wonderful way to tie all the houses and scarezones together, I also see no problem with letting each house/scarezone stand on its own. For me, it's not so much about having a back story that encompasses the overall event, but that each house/scarezone feels like its own little story in itself.
Ultimately I can understand why so many people love having an icon and the complete immersion that a back story provides as an overall experience.
For me, I just go to the event and enjoy it, regardless of whether there is an predetermined storyline that is offered or not.

What if its all normal chainsaw scareactors who get cast every year, but this year they are all in drag !!! Yowza, now thats scary lol
THAT would be awesome in so many different and frightening ways.

1. The Walking Dead: Dead Inside - This is the house that pretty much cemented my visit this year to HHN. I skipped the last two years, and was leaning towards finding a way to get there this year. When they announced this house, I was definitely going. So after a week in Key West for Fantasy Fest, I'm driving up to Orlando for a week. It's my favourite show on television, and hopefully the house proves worthwhile.
7. Alice Cooper - Could care less. His music is average at best, and he hasn't been relevant in 30+ years... I think I'd rather walk through a "Duran Duran" house.... I could end up being surprised, but as far as anticipating it.. meh
First of all color me incredibly jealous that your going to Fantasy Fest, we haven't been in several years. I love KW in general, but it's even more special down there during haunt season!
TWD house is what I'm most looking forward to about this year as well, here's hoping they meet and exceed our expectations as fans of the show.
And I think if the Duran Duran house concept was to come to fruition, it would have the potential to be one of the scariest houses. Ever. Especially if they based it on their earlier years and the tons of make up they used to wear.

Not sure what this show will be like, I think we're going to wait for some reviews before committing to seeing it. Like zombieman stated, I'm not sure how these guys and their performance will translate to a setting as large as the BJ theater. And for me, nothing ticks me off more than wasting even 20 minutes of my life on a show that winds up sucking beyond belief.

The rest of us avoid HHN's facebook for the sake of our sanity.
My head feels like it's going to explode even when I just read the random posts on that page sometimes. I wonder how some of the posters manage to figure out how to even turn their computer on considering how completely moronic their commentary truly is....

If he's a superfan due to being on facebook and making lots of comments, I wonder what they consider any of us!
I guess if the rest of us didn't have to work all day long, we could be on Facebook 24/7 posting comments and be considered "superfans" too...

I gave up buying the house shirts in 2008 and went with the main or alternative shirts
I'm a bad HHN, the only year I have a shirt from is 1996. I may have to just suck it up and deal with the red gel lettering this year because I actually do like the design for this and since I'm a major fan of The Walking Dead, I'd love to have one. I'll just make sure to not put this one in the dryer.

I worked in guest services for many years and let me tell you, the time of year with the most plethora of all things lost...HHN.
Add in houses with rooms like this, oh hell to the yes, there are going to be some lost hats, sunglasses and the like....
