  1. FFP is the answer to your questions.

Dr. D is absolutely right. If you live here and going more than one night is doable, then the FFP is the way to go...you definitely get your monies worth out of it. There is no need to rush and try to fit everything into one night, you can check things out at your own pace.

  2. Let's break this down like fraction:

If you only have one night at the event and are really worried about not getting to experience everything in that one evening, then your best bet is to fork the cash over for an express pass, plain and simple.

Unfortunately, no one can predict what wait times will be like from year to year...so you always run the risk of missing out on a house and/or show if you are attending on a peak night and only have one night to see everything. That being said, seeing everything on a peak night CAN be done, you just have to budget your time.

  3. Lol at the Zombieness emote :)

One thing that would be nice, would be to have the zombies actually be able to open their mouths when attempting to bite you. It looks like the masks they have chosen will allow it but it's hard to tell.

The threat of being bitten kinda goes out the window if the mouth doesn't actually open haha. I guess they can still scratch though, sooo...there's that.

Here's hoping that the perhaps the masks they are using are the more pliable latex kind that allow for more movement by the person wearing them...then the zombies can act like they are trying to nom on you while emoting their zombiness at the same time. :)

  4. No not me, I hold my alcohol quite well. I don't make a fool either. I brought a friend in 09' who got so drunk it ruined the experience. I don't want to be that guy.

Thanks for the advice thou.. I have wanted to check out the bars for awhile now.. Just haven't been since March.

Most of the CityWalk bars have some kind of drink special during HHN. And if you show your ticket stub you can get into most of the clubs free as well on selected nights.

Cigarz and NASCAR both seem to have fairly good drink specials. If you are looking for a good dinner and drinks, I recommend Bob Marley's or Margaritaville.

  5. What I want to know is where is the cheapest place to drink? This is the first year I'll be able to (Legally) drink... So I'm gunna do my drunkest

EDIT: Is the World of Beers in Citywalk? or just near the garage?

World of Beer isn't on Universal property, it is located about ten minutes away in the Dr. Phillips area.

There really isn't hands down a "cheapest" place to drink, it's all about where you can get the best drinks for your money. In the studios, Finnegan's has an excellent selection of beers and the mixed drinks are strong.

And do us all a favor as a freshly minted legal drinker...don't be that person who throws up in a queue line. I actually had someone who just turned 21 and got their drink on a little too heavily turned around and barfed on my shoes in a queue line two years ago. Not exactly the night I had planned...you don't want to be known as "that" person ;)

  6. I don't think it's only costs. IT takes a lot of time to do makeup like that. Time I don't think they really have since they have so many people.

That is exactly one of the many reasons masks make much more sense than makeup. Make up also runs and smudges in the humidity and heat. On a television show between shots the make up crew can come out and touch actors up, scareactors doing a 45 minute set at a time in a house = no time for touch ups to be had until they go on break. And then you've got a huge cast where touch ups aren't practical given time constraints and the number of make up artists available.

When it comes to make up versus masks, lets also not forget, the lines in the houses move by at the speed of light...no one gets more than a few seconds of a glimpse at a scareactor before they are moving onward. In that split second when you see the scareactor, I wouldn't think the main thought in your mind would be "Man, they should've used make up".

  7. Im not a fan of B&T using politics, its a cheap and lousy way for a cheer.

I agree, there are two things that should be left out of B&T...politics and religion. It's when they stick to making fun of celebrities, movies, singers, that's when they shine. When they try to make social statements, that's when they loose the audience. I don't go to that show to do anything but laugh....and even that's been hard pressed for the past several years.

  8. Lol somebody needs to do it!!

And I have no problem at a all being that somebody... :)

Trust me, if these bones of mine will bend that way, I'm doing the duck room every time!

I would prefer Daffy to Donald, but I'll take what they offer :P

I'm going to see how many times I can bend that way, but yet still manage to walk in an upright position afterwords sans pain without alcohol assistance... :)

  9. Im really interested to see what type of lighting will be used in Silent Hill. I feel it should be lighter than most houses

That's a very good point...because the movie itself was much brighter than I anticipated considering the concept of it all. It should be lighter to reflect the falling ash and/or if they could use lighting effect to give the idea of falling ash, that'd be equally as cool.

  10. I just enjoyed how this went from YEAH! LOVE THIS CONCEPT to silver fish. I feel like I want a costume like this so I can terrify the entire park single handed. Muhahaha

I love the traditional Halloween trick or treater concept...but you put someone in a silver fish costume, THAT would be more terrifying to me than anything I've ever seen at HHN. Blech, I just hate those damn things.

Fortunately, bugs of no type qualify as "traditionals"...so we're safe.

  11. I have confidence in every single horde. Don't make your opinions before you've seen what our men and women on the streets can do.

I don't think anyone is questioning the ability of the scareactors, I think we were just taken back by a few of the costumes revealed...probably not what we all expected or envisioned.

After all these years, I leave my final opinions after I see everything for myself... :)

  12. OMG, not to sound daft.. but Jeramy, I think you just referred to a 2nd Silent Hill movie? I didn't know there were two.. jeez, I could barely get thru the first one. I could appreciate the effects, and I did say that the concepts would make a GREAT house. I just hated the movie. Don't think I could stomach a 2nd one.. so being kind of selfish, I hope a lot of the house is based on the first movie.

The first "Silent Hill" movie, ugh...I couldn't believe I wasted two hours of my life on that POS. Like you said Eileen, the effects were great and I think overall it will make a great house, but the storyline was a snoozer. I have no intention to waste another two hours of my life watching the second film. I will however waste 2 minutes of my life walking through the house :)

  13. We only saw a VERY small sample of each of the hordes yesterday, from what was said in interviews.

All the hordes will have many, many different costumes making them up.

Oh, I thoroughly realize what we saw was merely a teaser. Like I said I think many of the horde costumes are so simple for a very good reason, be it elaborate make up and/or the interaction the legions with have with one another and/or the guests.

  14. As insane as Silent Hill looks, that's still my least anticipated. I'm just not into that whole franchise at all.

Yeah, about those... did they go to Party City and buy the masks?

Silent Hill does look pretty damn incredible, but like you it's still probably my least anticipated...simply because I'm still mad that I wasted two hours of my life watching the first movie. That's two hours I can never get back.

I think they went to the local produce market and said "Hey we need some sacks for costumes, whatcha got?" I seriously think there will be some incredible make up and/or masks for the beasts which is why the costumes are so simple.

  15. Thanks everyone for posting the pictures over here. It was hard keeping up with multiple cameras, facebook and twitter. Hope everyone enjoyed the updates from the event today!

Thanks to you all for sharing so much with us, it made for a very fun afternoon at work... :)

  16. Being overly 'husky' and tall, this crouching business does not sound fun. I'll take the lazy path thanks.

I'm thinking we'll probably attempt the duck/crouch path at least once, but be lazy the majority of nights....and then point and laugh at everyone else who attempts the other path and maims themselves in the process :)

  17. Ummmm, my friend and I were messing around in the Kiddie Zone of Aquatica (??? Sea World Water Park) a few years ago and he lost his glasses. That was embarrassing as he was SOBER. Of course, I lost my Rx glasses a night later on the beach and had to wear a friend's different contact lenses Rx. No...neither of us ever recovered our glasses...so if you find some on the beach of Cocoa Beach, they might be mine!

It's funny now, but this low hanging area could kick our @$$es in 3 weeks (the other glasses moron is part of my group heading down).

PS - while we are dumb drunks, we're HAPPY dumb drunks who keep to ourselves...and make fun of ourselves. We're all pushing 40 in NY and fly down for a long weekend to unwind and take cabs to and from our hotel/resort. But we do squeeze in 3 months worth of drinking in 4 days and can be very entertaining to watch.

It's amazing what stupid things you can do sober, let alone drunk isn't it? LOL

I'm actually very curious to see how the duck and crouch section of this house will work out for everyone, sober, drunk and all in between. You just know someone is going to beat the living shit out of themselves in some way, shape or form.

We are the exact same kind of drunks...the happy kind who make fun of themselves and who drink once a year during haunt season and cause no one but our livers problems.... :)
