  1. So this year was a very bumpy ride! First off we were 30 minutes late on road, then a nail was in our tire which we had to stop for about an hour/ an hour and a half to get a plug, then we were in the middle of the storm driving up from south florida and then my glasses broke... BUT Sandy decided to be really nice friday night, my uncle fixed my glasses, and halloween horror nights KICKED ASS! (I am rating all the houses on a atmosphere/scare/overall scale) Here are my house reviews in order of how i did them

The Walking Dead: Dead Inside (In the light)-We ran to this house first because i knew how long the line would get. We went in regular and it had no wait, just walked right on in. This house was very good in scenery with minimal scares. Now we saw where everyone was when it was light out, but i still got scared by the guy who grabs at you from above! The ending was kind of ruined with them trying to grab you in between holes because you saw where they were.

Now later on we went into this house again using express- WOW. A lot better in the dark! I was still i little disappointed in the whole house, but i did get a lot more scares. The guy on the top scared me AGAIN, and the ending was a lot better! I still felt they missed out on things, like maybe have an actor help each group go through and get taken by a zombie, or have some zombies inside the RV.

    Atmosphere: 7/10

    Scares: 4/10

    Overall: 6/10

Gothic- We also did this house twice (because dead end had a 30 minute wait while this house had only 10 minute wait) Now it didnt matter if in light or dark but we did it in the beginning and near the end. Just WOW. I LOVE THIS HOUSE! I'm happy i did it twice! I missed more things the second than the first! Loved them in the air and thought they had great masks on. I loved the scenery, and the last room is AMAZING! Missed the person inside the house on the first time, but he scared the crap out my family the second time! Such an amazing distraction when the guy is flying through space! Meanwhile, i came in thinking i was going to hate this house, and came out loving it!

    Atmosphere: 10/10

    Scares:8.5/10

    Overall: 9.5/10

House Of Horrors- Now i went into this house scared as hell that i had to crouch, but it wasn't as bad as i expected! Now i LOVED the black and white theme they had on this, but i felt it gave less time to scare with all the strobe lights. It also made it hard to see through the house, I had no scares in the Black Lagoon room, and barely any scares the whole time. But this did have probably the scare of the year, or at least a close second. The ending had me running as fast as i can out! I honestly smashed my face into my moms head because i needed to get out! I wish they had a longer house for this and more rooms, i felt it was very short.

    Atmosphere: 8/10

    Scare: 7/10

    Overall: 8/10

Alice cooper: Welcome To My Nightmare- I came in this house, being so confident i was going to love it... What happened!? We got stuck at a cast change so that could be a part of it, but still it felt so empty. So short also. I did like the spider web room but i could barely get through that room after walking into everything. I just felt this house needed a lot more than it got.

    Atmosphere: 5/10

    Scares: 3/10

    Overall: 5/10

Penn And Tellers: New'kd Las Vegas- I LOVE Penn. I LOVE this house! It was so funny and trippy that it made my night! I got a great scare by a person behind the slot machines, and the clown at the end was leaning over me that i had crouch with my head basically on the floor! The overall best room of the event goes in this house... The lights room! OMG That room was AWESOME! I didn't get scared as much as i wanted too but this was a great house. Also it comes with a free hhn 3d glasses, i mean what could have gone better?

    Atmosphere: 10/10

    Scares: 8/10

    Overall: 9/10

Dead End: I came to this event knowing this will be the scariest house, and i was totally... CORRECT! This house scared the crap out of me! This was the best house of the year. Just everything about it screamed out creepy. The ghosts holograms were so cool and the photo room is amazing! The last room though... scared me SO BAD! We were kind of stuck in the last room and we watched the bed and when she screamed OMG I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO CRY! Haha, no but seriously that was the best scare of the event.

    Atmosphere: 11/10

    Scares:10/10

    Overall 10/10

Welcome To Silent Hill- I think silent hill is so scary. Just all the monsters freak me out. But after reading everybody's reviews of this house, i began to doubt my judgement... Don't get me wrong, i still came to the event thinking that this still can be the scariest house, but my dreams became nightmares as i went through this house. I did get one or two scares, but as in Alice cooper i felt there was such a lack of actors. I mean One pyramid head i saw, ONE! And he almost hit my brother in the face, in which was very cool but why didnt he have a sword? I still did like the feel of this house though. Frankly, i dont know why though. I thought this house had the potential to be so much better!

    Atmosphere: 7/10

    Scares: 2/10

    Overall: 6/10

Street Experience: When i first heard about this i was happy and kind of sad. I knew it would be hard to find every group and a lot less props but overall i LOVED this street experience! I thought it was so much better than what everyone was saying! I saw: Traditionals, Walkers, Prisoners, Vampires, The Iniquitus, Beasts, and Warriors. The only ones i did not see were the zombies (fast ones). The scariest were the traditionals, but the beasts were at a close second. Warriors didn't go to us and prisoners i basically missed since we had to run to bill and ted. I miss the scare zones, but i loved the fact that they were everywhere.

    Shows:

This year for the first time, i got to watch both shows.

Bill and Ted's Excellent Halloween Adventure- Out of the last 3 years, ive been to 2 of them. This year was my third and WOW it blew the other two out of proportion! It was very commical, and the best part was either honey boo boo or magic mike. Overall it was very funny and well worth the 30/40 minutes! I give it a 9/10

20 Penny Circus- We did this because it started at the exact time we walked by. It wasnt as fun as i wanted it to be... It had some funny moments, like one or two, but magic just isn't something i very interested in. PLEASE BRING BACK ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW! I give it a 5/10

Overall: This year, in my opinion was a success. It my have had its flaws, but it was scarier than last year (well in most houses and street experience) I felt it had a lack of actors in some houses and NO CHAINSAWS. Come on hhn! We want more chainsaws!

House order form least favorite to favorite:

    Alice cooper- 7

    Silent hill- 6

    The Walking dead- 5

    House of horrors- 4

    Penn and teller- 3

(Now heres where its very tricky...but i have to choose one!)

    Gothic-2

    Dead End- 1

I can't wait for next year!

  2. The past 3 fridays have apparently been slow... slow enough for those without express passes to actually stay until close, especially this past friday. Of course this has annoyed the crap out of me since i downgraded this year because i figured fridays would be slammed due to the IPs <_<

Pray that what youre saying is true! Im going next friday- YOU ARE WARNED! Next friday broward school (ft. lauderdale) has an early release thursday and no school friday. Watch out for everyone who hates teens going!

  3. And as for ignorant people at the event, i hate the people that say it should be "18 years and older" or even 21, and sorry if one of you guys are, but i am 14. Ive been going since i was 11, and i respect the actors more than most adults. I mean most ignorant guests are drunk, which some are under age (VERY rare! great security on underage drinking!). As some people, when i see someone even just drunk that they are a little unstable, i get super paranoid. I start to only force my eyes on them to make sure they do not harm me or anybody else. In the first year i went, i ate at Mels at i believe it was 11:58? or 12:28 something where i was 2 minutes before closing time, and the cops had to take us out (not forcefully just as a clear out!) and there was this one girl stumbling everywhere. Then she tripped on a scarezone prop and started to hysterically cry. She was screaming how she lost her friend and all this nonsense. To this day, i can picture every drunk doing that at HHN. Also about the under age drinking, i know someone whose dad as a joke (like 4 or 5 years ago) handed him a drink or put it near his mouth and said "here drink it!" as a joke, meanwhile he wasn't even really tipsy, and the cops ran over and took his arm and held them up (i believe they put him on the wall) and he finally got to roam the park afterward, but they are very stricted on that! I love all the scare actors, as i even get scared to ask for a photo cause i dont want them to get out of character!

When we left at 1:00am on Saturday, the wait time for TWD was 120 minutes! If you really want to see that, I would definitely hit that first. I'd do Gothic and Dead End after that - I believe those are the best houses of the entire event, so if you can figure a way to hit them twice (once with Express, once without), you'll be glad you did. Yes, you might miss good stuff if you don't hit Gothic twice.

The scareactors are on the streets until close from what I saw. My favorite place to hang was on one of the benches on the street behind Mel's Diner (heading toward the exit). Forgive me for never getting the correct "area name", but I think you know where I mean.. We sat there for an hour Saturday night just watching various beasts/Iniquitus/Vampires - scare the crap out of everyone. It was great.

Thank you! I am most excited for dead end and twd. Does penn and teller usually have a long wait? Also if they are rumored to be in the house, do you know if they are there since the beginning? or specific time?

  4. Can someone help me with the wait times? Im going at right at opening (waiting from 6- open gate maybe earlier/ have to see what the line for opening gate is) and my brother is coming from Gainesville to meet us. He cant come till i would say 7:30-8:30. I want to do thing where i can go no express then use express later on in the night. Usually i just go in a circle to the right, but I heard that it would good to go to walking dead first. Im thinking this is how i will do them (in order):

    TWD Dead inside

    Gothic

    Silent hill (if i can)

    Bill & ted

    House of Horrors

    Alice cooper

    Penn and teller

    TWD again

Gothic again (I heard this has most things you would miss if you go only once, is that true?)

    Dead end

    Silent hill

Also about the scare actors, where is the best place they tend to be? Also how late do they stay out? If anyone has a better idea for time setting, please help!

  5. Nah, I think this lady just didn't know what she was talking about, Last year there were two of lanyards available for regular sale and they were not AP only. I think they just don't have them available for shipping and this girl was unaware of the reasoning for not having them.

yeah, like mine, (I believe) on email they told me that silent hill=24.95, on the phone she said its 21.95. Also i knew more about the merch than the girl, which i can't really say is bad considering they never saw the shirts or anything before. I still feel good about getting everything early though!

  6. called and ordered lanyards, The only one they have for sale over the phone is the "zombie one" the lady said the other one was for annual passholders only :capt: I'm assuming she is wrong but either way I got mine ordered. I want the standard one more so than the zombie one, Hopefully they still have them by the last week of Oct or someone puts them up on ebay or something.

Shipping for 2 lanyards was $6.95 btw The first shipping option they offer you is priority so it's $15 something but they have a standard shipping option at $6.95

I'm considering ordering the house tshirt just to have it, I haven't decided yet

woah woah woah! The lady on the phone never told me its 15 for priority! The girl on the phone/ the merch was kind of un-professional but what can i do <_<

  7. Hey great news to everyone in Florida! I believe (if you live in FL idk about any other state) you can order anything and they will ship it. I just was ordering the t-shirt and thought "what the hay, lets ask about other things" so i started off with the jacket. She said do you live in states and then asked if i lived in the state of florida, which i do, and it worked fine. So if you are worried about a hat, or jacket or a pin or even a lanyard and you live in Florida, i bet they will have no problem shipping it. But watch out, shipping is EXPENSIVE! It was 15.99 to ship plus about 20 dollars of tax. Which tax you cant really change, but if your going in next week or really soon, i would wait. For me, im going the 26 of october so im scared about the jacket, and i got one!

Actually there is a HHN graphic on the back of the Alice Cooper shirt.

I just saw this! Any way, its still very unnoticed and its a v-neck anyway, which i dont get lol But if i was such a huge fan of Alice Cooper i would get, but i really am not. So i guess this will be the only shirt (of hhn official merch) i will not get

  8. I LOVE THE SHIRTS! The only exception is the alice cooper in which, i am not getting. I feel i could get that shirt anywhere online. Its not unique and it doesnt even say halloween horror nights! Other wise the silent hill shirt i LOVE LOVE LOVE and the twd is amazing! The house shirt is the house shirt. I love the main (more expensive) pin, i love the keychain and i love the jacket. I wish it was houses on the back of the jacket, or at least a Walking dead picture, but at least they had something! I'm spending all my money on this years gear, and i am actually happy about that!

  9. Thank you for contacting us. Our HHN tees will not be available online this year, but you can contact us at the # below and we can take an order for you over the phone. We actually have various tees for this year. We have our normal Market tee with The Walking Dead, our House tee with “Once you’re inside, there is no way out” on the front and the houses on the back, and Alice Cooper tee and a Silent Hill tee.

Just got this email!!!!!!!!! im getting all 4 :3

  10. is anyone else wondering where the merch is on the universal website? Every year I buy one and it usually is up about a week before. Last year i think like 5 days before (i got it on the wednesday of employee preview) and the year before it came out like 4/5 days before (got it on that friday of the first day). I emailed universal to know when and even if it will be online. Hopefully today or tomorrow its on!

  11. Its starting to get close to opening day, and still no merch... Any body know exactly when they will go online? Last year i remember going up about a week before, i hope it comes out soon! And hopefully they can be as nice as the Howl-O-Scream ones. I feel if they keep going with what they are showing in the BK cups and the Publix stands, I have a feeling I wont be as happy. I believe there will be:

    1. House shirt (once your in saying on front)

    2. Walking dead shirt (all gear not just shirt- Pins, lanyards, maybe even a rick hat?)

    3. regular halloween horror nights 22 shirt (possibly with all logos like they have the shirt with spiderman hulk etc and UOR in the middle)

    4. Pin

    5. I hope they have a jacket, but a lot better than last years. Not saying i didnt like that they had a sweatshirt last year, its just i hope it has houses or something unique on the back or front.

    6. The traditional lanyard

  12. am i the only one that thinks the end of the world type of event is too cliche? Like i want something like demons and killers, rather than the world ending. Like maybe one house called "2012" but it would need a bigger concept. Like the ground shaking and walls closing in. I think it would be too long and in all fairness boring . I want a monster, something that will give kids and adults nightmares. Lady luck didnt give that great "feel" of danger. Also with the nightingales... i personally didnt like the way they brought back saws and steam, so i dont like re-run houses. I say they do something original. Or 2 things original! I love the idea of 2 parks, but how would they do it? It would be SO cool to have the two parks like no connecting and have them one night for each. You can get a double park, but it would be more. It would space out the visitors, and get them more money. I know people wouldn't be happy with spending more, but you do get more houses. The only problem is where they going to find all those workers? Also i honestly want a new show. Some show to help the originality and back round of the theme. I love bill and ted but if they can have other shows, id rather them do 2 with the plot and back round :3

  13. I've only been the past 3 years, but from 09-11 heres my top 10:

    10. Wolfman- Basically the scenery and the like changing wolf made this house. Also it was my first house so it is a little biased :3

    9. Holidays of Horror- I loved this house. Never got really scared though.

    8. Leave it to cleaver- AMAZING HOUSE.

    7. Orfanage- It really wasn't scary but creepy is the word. I was so creeped out by the masks!

    6. Nevermore- Love poe

    5. Saws and steam- Loved atmosphere and all the chainsaws! Also the wet effect made it pretty disgusting in there!

    4. Zombiegedden- Funny and scary

    3. Saw- I love the movies and the end was the best ending i've ever been through.

    2. Hallow'd past- Loved seeing old things that i personally missed out of older years!

    1. Silver screams- This was the only house i was so scared of. I only looked (first year) like 3 times. Only house to have me shaking by the end!

    5 worst:

    5. Chucky friends till the end- Was so bored during this house

    4. Catacombs- Was very obvious. Never got a scare only weird birds on top of me.

    3. The forsaken- The only good part was the sidways part and that wasn't scary just challenging to walk through.

    2. Frankenstein- Kind of boring. I liked the atmosphere though!

    1. The Spawning- Seriously? I dont even have to explain this one.
