Ooook I’m gonna have to catch myself up on all this but if we are seriously getting one of my all time favorite movies (The Lost Boys) this year AND ST is confirmed...
As for other films I’ve brought up regarding 80’s classics they were Poltergeist, Fright Night and I think the other was Sleepaway Camp but I’d have to go back and check. I’m having a mild meltdown over this so y’all gotta forgive me for a minute lol but if the Ifrit is hinting at the 80’s classic to possibly replace IT (or just an 80’s classic IP in general) the most blantanty obvious one in is actually The Lost Boys. Wow.
@Ringwraith (and for anyone else who hasn’t seen it yet and is curious) The Lost Boys was just added to Netflix and if you’re a lover of everything 80’s, beautiful cinematography and greasy sax players it’s a must see. If Universal is actually going to do this I cannot wait to see how gorgeous they’ll make it-from their lair to the incredible detail in their costumes-it will be breathtaking, and will absolutely warrant a UTH trip to take it all in.
If this happens it might be the first time I carry tissues into HHN to hide my tears of joy lol
You also mentioned Creepshow. Don't think it'd be Fright Night since they'd already have vampires covered with Lost Boys. And someone else said Poltergeist right before you, so that's probably not it. Though I'm sure that would be this year's "vortex" house if it was true.

Man, I was hoping it was gonna be the person who guessed Gremlins. I love when they do snowy/winter houses and it's one of my favorite 80s movies.

Does anyone happen to know the showtimes for Bill & Ted this year? I'm trying to make a gameplan.
7:30, 8:30, 9:45, 11:15, 12:30

I love how detailed Sam is.

Happy TrT is confirmed. And Invasion sounds awesome! Hope there's at least one alien that will creep up behind people with a probe.

I saw (no pun intended) on the regular universal twitter that passholder nights for horror nights fall on a night I'm going and give you advanced admission to 3 houses. What is this, has anyone done it, and how is it different from normal waiting at a holding area?
I've done it the last few years. They open 3 houses at 5:30 for AP's the first 2 Fridays and Saturdays. You have to RSVP (usually sign ups start the first week of September) and are allowed one guest, as long as you each have a valid ticket for that night's event.

With no more countdown, I'm wondering how often we can get the rest of those boxes 'unlocked' until next month....6 weeks 'til the first event as of tomorrow.
HHN starts 5 weeks from Friday. I had to check my calendar a few times to make sure I was counting right.

Clock has always been counting down until next Thursday at 11:00am EST.
Oh, my bad. I thought it ended today with the Ash announcement.
-
And the clock has reset to another week so it looks like announcements will be coming every Thursday from now on.

I went by Krampus a second time later on and it was closed again. Looked like it had re-opened and then shut down. I didn't stick around for it to re-open again. I'll try again on Sunday. Anyone find out what was going on?
Overall, a very successful night. Got through 8 of 9 houses in about 3 hours with Express. Longest Express line was AHS (about 25 minutes and the screen said 80 for regular). Most of the others didn't have much of a wait at all.
-
I went by Krampus earlier and it was closed. Not sure for how long, though.

In line for the AP event. Happy opening night, everyone!
-
It's down poured each of the last couple opening nights so nothing new there. After standing in line getting drenched, you just learn to accept it and not let it bother you. Then when it finishes you go on Mummy and dry off in the fire sections.

Didn't somebody say we were supposed to be able to RSVP for the annual passholder previews on September 6th? I can't find anything about it.
We rewatched the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre a couple of days ago, I hope the grandpa make a few appearances, he was by far the creepiest thing in the movie.
We're halfway through season 4 of American Horror Story. Lots of good material for the maze.

So was what Revving of the Rising Sun hint?
The revving of motorcycles away from the rising sun because they're vampires.

50's greaser vampire scare zone? Amazing.

Looks like the Walking Dead logo above Exorcist. Makes sense if it's sharing top billing with AHS.

Yeah, I'm just gonna do what I did last year- RoF and a separate Express add-on for opening night.
Now I can officially get excited!

The Orlando HHN address is now redirecting to Universal's main site. Looks like they finally figured out how not put things up early.
And awesome that tickets are now up. Just gotta get the UOAP discounted ones to come up and I'll be set.
