1. In the hole in the center of the disc, it looks for all the world to me like it spells "Leotta". Which in turn makes me think of the Leota in that other haunted place up the road. Who apparently contacts spirits. Which is the wrong park, so dead end.

But are those letters in there? Symbols?

And is the disc a 2D representation of our vortex?

It does appear to spell Leotta. As for symbols, the ones I can make out are:

The L & E look similar to the symbol for Jupiter.

    O & 1 T looks like the male symbol.

2 Ts together looks like pie.

    The A resembles alpha.

  2. Also: There's a new picture on that Instagram account that contacted JW today. Picture is here. Comment underneath says:

    EVPs. Electronic Voice Phenomenon.

Used regularly on Ghost Hunters, Fact or Fiction, and by average every day paranormal researchers.

I've heard EVPs that are as clear as day and can make your hair stand on end or that can reduce you to tears.

Love the pic used for this.

  3. No intent to offend anyone here, and I would love to believe in this, but the skeptic in me brings up some points. There are some pretty extraordinary claims about this guy. Getting up and walking around? Running between rooms and attacking people? Cursing people and families? Changing facial expressions? Is there ANY solid evidence to back any of this up? If I had this guy in my possession, you'd better believe I would have 24 hour video surveillance on him to get as much smoking gun evidence as possible and broadcasting the results, which apparently no one who could is actually interested in doing? Very suspect...

I believe there is a camera on him on his website. As for the claims, I may not believe all that has been said about him, but he does have a presence to him. One of the people who I spoke of was a skeptic as well and went on the tour because I spoke of him. She is no longer skeptical of Robert.

The Neil Patrick Harris thing seems very interesting to me, maybe we will get more from this mysterious friend?

I would also like to clear a bit up about a cryptic statement I made, "The 19th Century" was meant to refer to the Victorian mansion in the sense of when that structure would have been built. This does not necessarily mean that the HHN house is set in that era.

In fact, if the investigation of whatever paranormal activity is expected to be going on in that mansion is carried out by a certain team of collective investigators it seems far more likely that this will be going on in the present day.

Unless they totally retcon the history of that organization, which I believe was founded by a certain detective after events that occurred in the late 1950s.

It interests me as well. And the message is in metered voice. I shall hope we hear more from this mysterious friend.

Btw, retcon is the reason I will accept nothing to eat or drink from gorgeous men in vintage military coats.

Spec: I wonder if you are onto to something with Robert, Doc. Little possessed dolls can be so creepy and it would make for a great investigation into paranormal activity.

  4. Pure speculation on my part here: I know the re-used doll/dummy looks nothing like him, but nevertheless it somehow reminds me of the creepy Robert the Doll in Key West. That little legend is one I wouldn't mind seeing investigated.

Again just a spec on my part, I've heard nothing about Robert actually being involved.

If that doll ever shows up anywhere near HHN, I would seriously consider not going.

He does travel. He made a trip up to the Belleview Biltmore in Clearwater during a Paranormal Convention. The TAPS guys were there and I wanted to go, but I found out Robert would be in attendance. I didn't go. That doll freaks me out. Even pictures of him give off bad juju.

And I know people who have gone on the Key West Ghost Tour he's apart of. They've had weird experiences while in his presence.

  5. Tiffany's scene in 2009's Chucky house had a barbie-esque scene.... Written on the walls "Barbie is a whore", "Pretty Bitch" & "Slut".

Yes... out of everything in that scene i remember the naughtyness on the walls :chucky:

I remember the monkey and the plushie.

    Spec thought:

Besides the which one is real scare tactic we will probably see this year, I love the camo scares like the plushie and the Easter grass.

I wonder if there are any possible scares like that for this year? Maybe in P&T?

  6. I actually own one of the dummy heads from the house and that's exactly what they did.

    2007052.jpg

Awesome souvenir and I don't know if I should feel proud or ashamed that I was right.

I see way tooooo many baby doll hands in a day. Six year old daughter = bombarded by baby dolls.

Also if we ever have a Barbie house, I will totally be able to name the Barbies for you guys.

    Back to spec.

I think we've figured this one out. Victorian house. Another thought I had was how much Uni loves playing with us. All the IP houses, spec on 100 yrs of horror house, why not post a pic like this? Everyone is going to go for an IP or 100 yrs of horror. Like the Xmas pics last year had people saying it would be a Black Christmas house.

  7. 34nr3ix.jpg

One on the end look familiar? Recycle reduce reuse :)

I do believe the one on the opposite end is the blurry one.

    Thanks JW.

Looking at that pic, I think Uni may have placed "dummy" heads on regular baby dolls. Wish I could have taken the UTH in 07, so I could have had a chance to view them with the lights on.

So we know these dolls were used in Dead Silence now.

  8. Observations regarding the doll.

It's not a puppet. It may be painted to look like a puppet but it's not one. The mouth is fixed and the side seams are painted on. The puppet may be a marionette instead of a ventriloquist dummy. Or Uni didn't bother with making a true dummy.

As for the hand in the pic. It's a regular baby doll hand.

I'm going to speculate that this is from our "Victorian House" and it's a child's room.

  9. I'm gonna jump in on the King discussion just for a moment.

It is up to the Master of Horror himself to decide to contract for a haunted house. His decision and his decision alone. If he wants it done, he will approach the Studios or BG or where ever he wants to see it happen.

We know he's been burnt in the past regarding movies. He has become very protective of his properties.

I also wouldn't count on a meet & greet with him, if we ever do get an event. He rarely does speaking engagements, and he isn't very fond of them.

Has for anything linked to him being at this year's event, it would be all over The Dark Tower forums, and Uni would have announced it already. He would indeed be a bigger pull for the masses then SH, AC, TWD, or P&T.

Also if he agrees, people would have to accept a non-Kubrick based The Shining. He despises that adaptation.

  10. The queue music was the soundtrack of Shaun of Dead.

Thanks! I only remember us rocking out to Don't Stop Me Now.

Oh and of course Time Warp in Creatures queue.

Ah memories. That was our second house together and I felt mortified because that house scare the hell out of me.

  11. And speaking of the "DE"-type house, what type of music if any did they use with the original?

The only music I remember was from the queue.

Don't Stop Me Now by Queen.

Inside the house there was no music. Sound effects but no music.

I would be disappointed if we didn't get some pipe organ music in this house, but other than that I think no music is good music for this style house.

  12. I apologize for the pic of Fat Zombie Elvis, that was meant as a joke, although such a beast may appear in P&T's house I never seriously meant it would be the icon.

Why are people going on about Basketball? I pointed you towards Lacrosse in a major way.

Please go back and take a closer look and listen.

    My fault Doc!

I got confused by the Teen Wolf reference.

And I don't understand sports. The only sport I ever watch is stock car racing. Any other way to point me toward the answer?

  13. I agree was just looking things up to try and find something, and the new MTV version had a lacrosse playing werewolf. Just put it up for spec. Don't really count it as anything or will I ever watch the show.

I have no idea if it's right, but it was a good guess. I just had to have someone explain it to me. I'm such an eighties child that all I could think was:

"No, he played basketball. Why would someone say he played lacrosse?"

    I now feel old.

  14. I remember the Schoolhouse SZ but dont think they will bring it back... AC's song Schools out for summer has a specific line in it which is "out till Summer out till Fall"... so my guess is that this is prob a AC type SZ

The phrasing of the clue, specifically the words "comes back", lends itself to being something we've seen.

I do not wish to denigrate your guess, but I feel a Skoolhouse/Traditional Trick r Treat style zone is far more likely.

  15. Mostly wishful thinking. As much as i'd love to see werewolves, I haven't heard anything implying we'd get any. Strictly vampires.

I'm so glad you said that. While I would love to see a werewolf/vampire battle zone, I don't think I could live through the squeeing from fans of a certain book series.

And you know they would squee, intolerably squee. Or maybe just b & m about it being a rip off.

  16. I'm really late on all this stuff but here we go. I usally don't post here cause people on this forum can be mean and rip your ideas apart. I don't see what enjoyment people get out of being this way. Also I just did the survey and really let them know my dissapointment in this years website. Does anyone else think Dr. Jimmy's cryptic statement BCingU could mean I.C.U. for EDDIES return or am I just grasping at straws.

Grasping at straws. I feel the reference people have made to The Prisoner make a lot of sense.

The movement the doc did seems to point to it. A prisoner zone/ horde would be nice.

  17. If speculation can include ideas with no basis, then what's the difference between that and Wishful Thinking? In my mind, the whole point of Speculating is to actually figure out what is happening. It's a sleuthing game, and is the only reason I read the boards even long before I joined them. But in figuring something out, that requires that there be a "right" answer. If not, than someone could come in here and say "Nightmare Before Christmas" will be a house because no one can be wrong, regardless of the truth.

Now, I want to reiterate that Lizz and Jimmy made two VERY REVEALING STATEMENTS about streets this year.

We have clues. The person who offered us these clues will neither confirm or deny.

You have said you will not confirm things.

Do tell us how we are suppose to know we are on the right track in speculation?

It is not wishful thinking. It is speculating on the known. Which is 8 statements from Dr. Jimmy.

So unless you wish to enlighten us, or provide better clues, then just saying wrong means little to nothing.

Or do we have to quantify each of our specs for you? This is why I think....I postulate this because.....Here is my essay written out stating my opinions, why I think they are right, all wrapped up in a conclusive paragraph...

    Definition of speculation:

    spec·u·la·tion (spky-lshn)

    n.

    1.

    a. Contemplation or consideration of a subject; meditation.

    b. A conclusion, opinion, or theory reached by conjecture.

    c. Reasoning based on inconclusive evidence; conjecture or supposition.

  18. I'm going to be a pita (pain in the a$$, for anyone who doesn't know the term), but why can't we have a zone/horde in Plaza of the Stars/Production Central?

    Reasons we can:

1 I'm alomst positive Hanna Barberra/Neutron was open with a horde near it in the 90's. At least I remember riding it at HHN in 98.

2 The entrance to the ride appears to be (haven't been since it's been open) at the traditional starting point of a zone. Just move the zone back a little.

3 I know T2 was open with a scarezone in Hollywood in 98.

Unless anyone wants to confirm that they have definitely heard Plaza as not being a zone, I don't think it hurts to speculate on it being used. Especially since I cannot really figure out another possible horde area in the park.

  19. I didn't attend last year, as I closed IOA every weekend last haunt season..

But they weren't all generic zombies.. It seems that just because I mentioned that HOS had hordes last year and I thought it could work at the studios, you think that im head over heels about HOS, that I think HOS and HHN are on the same level, and that you're going to hurt me by bashing HHN.. Maybe if you dropped your holier than thou attitude and read my posts things would be clearer. If its a crime to speculate and add my two cents, then there shouldn't be a spec thread, huh? If you could call this a spec thread.. Its more like people speculate, and then get bashed by people who are gods.

    Casey

Casey, I believe he was teasing you.

Calm my friend. Actually your argument for HOS reminds me of what we were discussing previously. The GP's feelings about HOS vs HHN.

To them it's a competition, one must be better than the other. They don't compare and contrast and recognize the differences each park has to offer.

We see the possibility for difference that gives each park a unique feel. HOS can do all zombies. HHN not so much because each street is so different in appearance and theme. (Not HHN streets just the areas of the park are different)

This makes us wants variety. Things to fit with the ever changing scenery of the park.

None of us know how hordes will work. I'm hoping Lyn is right and it will be more like the 90's.

I've always found the props a distraction. I felt more detail and concentration was being put into the set pieces. Set pieces don't scare. For me it's always been about the scaractors.

I think of we let our scareactors have more leeway and creativity by not saddling them with specific scenery (less props means more improve, different tactics to produce a scare), we will see some fantastic scares.

I know I did in 98 and 99. I could watch them work for hours. And my greatest joy was watching the CDT clear the streets for the parade.

  20. My thoughts on the clues....

I have also incorporated the locations I fell best suit my guesses.

Free-Falling - Vampires or Silent Hill. I can see how both could fit the clue. Also both of these possibilities could be achieved with minimal set design and still be immersive. NY streets

I've seen shit that'll turn you white - Ghosts. Depending on the thematic approach this would also need little to no set design. I have no idea if it's still possible, but this is the perfect zone/horde to incorporate the flying monkey effect. Production Central

There's no more room in hell - TWD/zombies. San Fran

Lampy swore he saw one - Dragons. Maybe a Chinese New Year theme. This could also be a very simplistic set design. Costuming would be far more important. Hollywood Blvd

I'll be seeing you - Escaped prisoners. MIB area would be a good location for this one.

School's out for summer, but comes back in the fall - Traditional Trick or Treaters/Skoolhouse. Central Park/Mel's area

When I'm serious, sometimes I'm joking - Clowns. IFB, Kidzone or Simpsons. They could even roam between all three.

Lollipop - CDT with the addition of females. Sting Alley.

  21. I honestly hope that there are not a lot of house/scare-zone tie-ins. With the lack of houses and scarezones I wouldn't want them to have a repeat. I would rather have independent strong houses/ scare-zones than weak, similar houses and scarezones

When you say lack, do you mean quantity of houses and zones?

Technically, we are close to the highest number of "zones" we've ever had.

08 had 6 official scarezones, 3 "hordes" (they didn't roam that much), and 1 themed area.

    Official zones were:

    Path of the Wicked

    Asylum in Wonderland

    American Gorhic

    Streets of Blood

    The Skoolhouse

    Fractured Tales

    "Hordes" were:

    Mirror people

    Zombie Drill Team

    Chainsaw Drill Team

    Themed area was:

    The pumpkins in Central Park

This time we have 8 themed "zones". Whether they are roaming, hordes more similar to what we saw in 08, or actual scarezones remains to be seen, but there will be 8 themed "zones". (themed meaning they will have a centralized theme among the characters).

We are only down one house.

    So did you mean quantity?

  22. Speculation Challenge: Figure out the bonus question.

Bonus - " She's gonna be back and she always is"

We have had 6 female characters this could apply to.

Elsa (she's suppose to be gone)

Mary (Uni could pay to use her again or use her in her Dr. form instead of her Bloody Mary form)

Chance (never officially an icon, so is she gone like Elsa?)

    Cindy (same as Chance)

    Fortuna aka Lady Luck

    Terra Queen

Pick your poison and try to find away to link her to the event.

I do not know the answer and will be playing along.
