  1. Hello all,

Who else has had their on-boarding sessions? They end on the 10th, correct?
I'm hoping to get in again this year. I had to quit last year mid-run due to a family situation and scheduling conflicts.
Hopefully they're not holding that against me. Management seemed to be relatively impressed with my performance from last year.
My attendance record ended up being messed up with errors from last year. Got them cleared up and my manager from last year said everything is cool and is just waiting for HR to clear it.
Also called Scott directly and he said the same thing pretty much. So hoping I can get in this year, I know initial rehearsals and the like are coming to an end.

  2. The maze Tite is still unfinished and lots of the key elements are not installed yet. I hope that they fix their Sh*t by opening night

Yeah, specifically John actually commented on that himself but we're waiting on Michael Cera and his lightpole, The Crashing RV, windows are missing in some scenes, lighting touchups, posters, and UV paint on the facade. Scareactors are missing some curtains in certain scenes, the fog machines are yet to be installed. The entire maze was mean't to be fog heavy, hence the lack of detail in the hallways specifically. And lastly, the Jonah Hill in the beginning is not working yet. Quite a bit of work to be done. lol Again things are bound to get better. Insidious is supposed to have fog throughout the entire further sections I hear and that was absent.

  3. My rehearsal is tonight and I'm pretty excited for it! With all the construction going on I've been curious as to how everything will be laid out and presented. I'm glad everyone else had a nice time at their rehearsals!

I had mine last night for This is The End.
There were still a lot of elements that were yet to be installed.
But there is this awesome effect that goes on throughout the entire maze. Basically everything reacts to the lighting in some sort of way. Franco's house just has a ton of devastation. There are destroyed elements everywhere and a lot of neat effects with lighting.
I can't wait for you guys to see it. Devil Demons look insane too. :P

  4. Oh, no, you do practice runs out of costume. One set goes through, the other set acts, then switch a few times. But most of it is a lot of downtime. More information given. Basic set up, showing you where you're at. Then Murdy goes to each room individually and tells you what to do.

I'll be in Walking Dead for Preview Night, but I'm supposed to be switching out by opening night. That is if Scott actually follows through. I REALLY hope I do, 'cause BOTH sets I have as a Concrete Walker, I sit in a fucking box. I am the laziest person ever, and this event is the only thing in this entire world I'll ever ask to actually give me something to do.

Oh okay I see, that makes a lot more sense.
That'll be cool to see what the layout of the maze is actually going to be.
I'm hoping Devil Demon is a switching role although I don't see how it could be. Maybe you see him more than once.
But I know exactly how that can. I was Hedge Walker last year, I hated it. Lol I just like being seen and having the freedom to hide behind things, bang or hit, etc, etc. You couldn't do that it was boo and skadoo, rinse and repeat. Being in Clowns, I remember the room with the Ice Cream truck. Management didn't care where you hid in the room as long as it was safe, you didn't break character, or create a problem for guests so I found this really sweet hide behind the ice cream truck, at lot of guests were not expecting it as I was the only actor in the room, seeing the obvious door next to the entrance. Good times, good times.

  5. It's still a bit hard to swallow knowing Bill and Ted are gone. I'm so jealous of Orlando.
I'm hoping the show makes a return in the future, especially now that we are getting This Is The End. I feel like that maze
might possibly act as a testing ground to slowly nudge the show back into the event, hopefully when all the backlash and stuff has cooled down.
But I'm getting off subject. Has anyone actually seen them live?

  6. Last year, I sat in HoH for like 4 hours, waiting for Murdy to tell me things. He then talked for like five mins and moved onto the next group.

We then went through Dracula's maze and went home.

I mean, I was lucky 'cause it was in doors...

But Scott didn't move me from pool (officially), so I have to go to Walking Dead's rehearsal tomorrow. ): Gonna be hot af. But I do get paid for it...

I kinda wish I could have stayed in pool for the first week so I could see the mazes on opening night lol.
But lol I'll be doing rehearsal for This is The End this weekend. I can expect the same thing to just sit and talk in the maze for 4 hours?
I dunno why I was under the impression we'd be doing some dry runs in the maze. That's good to know though, I'd feel slightly awkward pretending to be a demon in a T-Shirt and shorts. lol

  7. What black thing? Do you mean the wall behind the facade? I'm confused

I think he's saying the facade has those extended black walls for a projected effect.

Thats totally plausable. This year will be utilizing a lot of cool new effects. And then remembering back to what John said about Halloween having a paranormal feel. Perhaps they are planning to have something flying around or maybe creepy foliage or the like.

Ugh hate how tight lipped Universal can be sometimes. The hype is real lol. Being a scareactor, I still don't know much of what to expect this year. Lol I don't even know what my character looks like lol.

  8. Are Danny's Cannibal gang being used?

I remember John saying he liked the idea of Danny's canibal gang or something to that vain at scare academy so im almost certain we'll see them.

Asfor existing effects things, everything is cleverly repurposed. The hoard effect I remember was going to be utilized as to what I cant remember but I know it wasnt being used as a hoard. Probably a vehicle. I Should probably stop yapping now. Leaking out tiny details and all...

  9. I personally believe this maze will be awesome. Without revealing anything, it won't be all sillyness.
There is a certain section of the maze with a lot of insane creatures, environments, and a couple cool effects.
There's a lot of re-used effects but their used pretty creatively.

There is some room for variety with this maze.
You have the streets, the house, and the store. Being such a small maze venue, there isn't much room for more than
three locations anyway. You've got the demons from hell, the exorcist themes, outside in front of the house, etc, etc.

I'm actually really stoked to see how they handle the 3D.

  10. I know, I was just making sure if he wanted to or not. I didn't mean it like that.

I got a sweet role as a demon. Don't wanna say too much about it because you never know if Universal is reading these. But apparently I'm a Devil Demon so im assuming its the big giant one at the end of the movie. I've seen some concept art for it. Some of these character names are really cryptic

  11. You know, I think I may have been there when that guy started filming Halloween.
I remember at scare academy, two dudes walked into the construction of Halloween.
I was too tired to really pay any attention to it. But in either case, that was ridiculous to post that up.
Definitely stealing on so many levels. But there are a lot of neat things in that maze that I'm so stoked for. :D
The whole paranormal thing is gonna be insane.

  12. Okay I need a moment to be upset or irritated or whatever. I'm always really grateful for the opportunity to work HHN, but it's really bothersome that I'm cast as the same thing every single year while other girls who are my same height and body type are put in different spots as different (and, frankly, better) things every year. It's kind of demoralizing and very frustrating tbh. I dunno, I just needed to vent and couldn't do it on Facebook. Sorry.

Oh man, I can so sympathize with you. Being a Walker in Terror Tram, is something I didn't like last year.
Although, being the tall big guy I am, I can see why they'd want me as a walker. But I just don't like Terror Tram and they kept putting me in that last year.
This year I'm in pool again and I can say I'm definitely grateful to be part of the event again, I don't mind TT too much this year though. I'm assuming your a walker?

Also, how do you go about getting the neat little green scareactor tag under your avatar?
