Things I don't see coming to HHN 25 - Hannibal , Hitchcock , the strain and AHS. Things I do see coming TWD and a Purge house .
Agreed. Since TWD is all but a lock for next year, I don't see any other TV show properties coming to the event. I doubt that they would want their show being viewed as second best. TWD casts a very big shadow. But who knows, it didn't seem to bother Robert Rodriguez.

And HHN 21 was the year I threw up my hands and went, "Done."
Further proof of how important the initial frame of reference is for the event.
I enjoyed 21 more than 19 or 20. I guess it's just a matter of opinion.

As much as I'd love to see all original mazes next year for a "Best of HHN". It's not going to happen. IP's will probably be the majority of houses from now on. IPs sell tickets. Now that Universal got a taste of the money it generates, no way in hell they'll go back to old school HHN. 21 was a great year. One IP with the rest original concepts, it was perfect but will probably never be done again. 5 or 6 IPs from now on at least.
You said it, 21 was indeed a great year. It seems like it was forever ago. Too bad nothing similar will ever happen again.

Interesting read for those who haven't been going to the event since the beginning...

I think you were making a joke but this would actually be perfect. Seriously do the 2 park event again and fill IOA with walking dead. Houses, Scarezones, a walking dead stage Show.
Yeah I Am ALL for that, leave the studios alone and focus all the walking dead Attention on filling Islands.
Yea, I was being a bit sarcastic when I said it. But the more I thought about it, the more sense it made. I know it will never happen, but it could be a win-win. 8 original houses at Universal for the 25th anniversary and TWD Land at IoA.

the nerve of these people... the worst part about it is that most people will beg them to bring it back
after doing the street experiences and the mega house, what's the next level? laser tag? will they give us guns to shoot the walkers? I can't imagine how they can top the house from this year
Maybe they will just completely overload IoA with TWD. Houses, SZ's, everything. Let all of the Walking Dead mega fans hang over there.

Has anyone heard or read if there will be any unmasked Predators in this maze?
-
Well, at least we know how they are planning the queue lines. TWD entrance is throwing me off. I was thinking it would be where Dracula Untold is. Also, The Purge zone looks massive.

If Bayou is anything like the atmosphere Grown Evil created it will be zone of the year no contest. I fucking LOVED Grown Evil. The music, lights, atmosphere and everything else in it made it a completely immersive and perfect experience.
I agree. If they can pull off the creepy atmosphere effect that Grown Evil had, this will be a top notch SZ. Grown Evil is still one of the best SZs that they have ever done in my opinion. It had everything you could want. Looking forward to seeing how they approach this one.

Has anyone seen the facade for this house recently? The latest picture I saw, it was hard to tell exactly what it was. Anybody have any ideas?

Off the meatshake topic,
Recent info I've recieved about this house has me even more stoked. It is already my most anticipated but now I am really looking forward to this one.
Hints, clues, anything?

This house (along with Dracula Untold) is ranking pretty bad in the Most/Least Anticipated House thread. While I agree the TV series is pretty bad, I wonder if that mediocrity will translate into this house? Or could this turn out to be a pleasant surprise? I guess we'll see soon enough.

Well in the HHN info game, nothing is 100% until it happens. I really hate passing on wrong info, but it does happen from time to time. However, when I hear it from several sources I typically take it for true. It doesn't mean it is always right, and sometimes things get misunderstood and passed along wrong too.
For example, as Cassi can painfully tell you I'm sure, early reports said the clowns were steampunk. That does not seem to be the case but it's an industrial setting. I assume she just assumed and drew? had drawn? the steampunk clown hint she gave. I don't know though she disappeared.
But I've heard a few details about streets that seem to back it up. I've heard nothing of budget cuts this year... unless LT was cut because they were focusing the money elsewhere. I can't honestly say.
I still wonder what Cassi thought was planned with all of the "Who Am I?" clues about Dark Carnivals and Dust Witches. There were 4 or 5 clues devoted to that.

Does anyone have any idea what kind of a facade they are planning on or started on? I haven't seen any pictures in the construction thread. What facade could go with this storyline?

This sounds like a pretty good SZ to hang out in, have a few beers and observe. Sounds like there will be a lot to see, just not quite as loud and in your face as The Purge will be. Looking forward to seeing this one.

I guess that makes sense in a way. Young Michael used the side (or back) entrance in the beginning of the movie. I'm guessing we will immediately enter the kitchen and see the washing machine and the open drawer with the knife missing.

I agree with Mystique. The trailer looks so much like an action only film. I can't help but wonder if they are going to have to add horror elements that aren't in the movie. Very curious about this one.

Yes, that's right. I forgot they mentioned the egg nursery! Sounds like we are going to get every aspect that we have asked for. Eggs, face huggers, chest bursters and the Xenomorphs themselves...the whole life cycle. Now lets just hope we get escorted out of Weyland-Yutani by the Queen herself.
-
I was also pleasantly surprised about A&D coming up with their own backstory and ditching the movie plot. It also sounds like there is going to be more focus on the Aliens in this maze. At least it sounds that way in most of the tweets and articles I've read. (face huggers, chest bursters, possible queen) This is going to be one awesome maze, definitely the one I'll be making a beeline to as I enter. I'm guessing the detail will be off the charts in this one.
I still want a True Blood house...
So do I. Do you see a scenario where it could possibly happen in the future? Would the interest and recognition still be there in upcoming years, since this is the last season?
-
I agree the site is how it will look. Would be very surprised to see anything different aside for some minor changes at most.
In the past two years they just release stuff. No build up or anything. So I don't know the timeframe but everything should be "revealed" by mid August. I would assume IPs will be revealed first as they hype it up with the them. Then the originals will just being revealed all at once probably with the rest of the scare zones.
I know last year they revealed the originals last. Didn't they release 1 house at a time on Twitter 3 nights in a row? I think it was at midnight? I can't remember how they revealed the remaining scarezones.
Edit: Forgot there were no scarezones last year. My bad.
-
I must admit, the cannibal themed masquerade sounds pretty good. But I'll be happy no matter what the specifics are. I mean, its an original SZ! I'm not sure I even remember what those are like.
-
Yes, to say last year was zombie overkill would be an understatement. Don't forget, as well as the 2 vampire houses, we are also getting a Blood Masquerade type of SZ. I assume there will be vampires there as well? But even if that's the case, it still will not be done to death like last year's zombie infestation.

I might be alone on this one, but I'd like to see another installment of H.R. Bloodengutz.
