  1. When looking at AHS as a part of the horror genre, it's difficult to rally behind. Mostly because of last season. It was fun and spawned some incredibly hilarious gif posts on Tumblr, but ever since season 1, it seems that their horror content has been getting a bit lackluster. A bit. That's why I have little faith in Freak Show to be anything more than a slightly eerie drama... of sorts. But hey, I'm still down. If they had announced a Coven maze I'm sure I'd be first to voice excitement. I have a very "shut up and take my money" relationship with HHN. I'm just here for teh fun.

....I realize I sound kind of erratic. Tl;dr I am an AHS fan. Bring AHS to HHN because why not?

  2. Darn.

But seriously, on twitter John said that you get something from Santanico.

    A boner.

Well I mean, that would be the only place in the park for non-VIP to get alcohol so... bottoms up! Or I guess toes up.

I remember blowing a kiss at Frankenstein's bride in HoH in 2011, and she just about hopped out of her little gogo cage to come closer and blow me one back. Franky wasn't too happy...

  3. I seriously think they set up the sz vote just to make us think that we contributed. It seemed pretty obvious from the very beginning that Mask-a-raid would win. It had a bright eye-catching design, featured two models in the design, and seemed like a more original concept. On top of that, it was completely different from the other two, which I'm sure people lumped together causing the votes to split. Ghouls and zombie veterans are very different, but compared with a high concept like cannibal masquerade aristocrats, they can start to blend together. At least, I'm sure this is the case for the gp. I mean, I loved all three, but I didn't think it was much of a contest.

  4. food for thought

Rick Baker was in the most recent episode of the Strain...could open doors like this year with FDTD

I saw that too! I thought Come on, Rick! You of all people should know how to behave in a damn horror story! Runnin into a horde of zombie-pires... get it together!

As for the walk to the backlot idea, they better be selling some HHN gel insoles and have zombies giving free foot massages because my feet are not about that life!!!!

  5. Idk, I think it's hawt when someone takes off their mask after their set and literally squeezes the sweat out of the holes.

    Kinky.

One of the klownz came up to my friend's sister, stuck his finger into the mouth hole of the mask and pulled it out completely dripping in saliva. A little of it hit her shoe and all I could think of was that she was not riding home in my car...

  6. You did say that you can judge a movie early on and "smell trouble". This shows you have good intuition. You also said that it is "simply a bad show". The only thing you didn't say from my comment is "you're wrong" but you're still negating other people's comments about it being a decent/good show by stating that it is a bad show as a matter of fact. That's where the word basically comes in.

I read what you wrote. And I accept your points not as facts, but opinions.

Also, I do not think you are an asshole. Believe it or not, I don't harbor any hostility towards you.

  7. The tone of this post and the message of progression and acceptance is much appreciated.

Now I'd rather not cartwheel through this shit storm of an issue especially after reading the Bill and Ted cancellation discussion last year but I'd just like to clarify a few things. Mostly in reference to one of the replies above. Saying that you have a gay friend who likes the show does not validate the crass writing. A few gay persons (especially young ones) do not represent the thoughts and lifestyles of the entire community. And there are plenty of places in LA/OC where you can watch half naked men dance around. I could provide a detailed list for you if you'd like ;) The difference is, at those places, you probably won't be referred to as weak or gross. That said, gays are more than their sexual preference. Many of them come to HHN for reasons other than watching a few minutes of bare chests from a distance.

Also, homophobia is alive and well. Southern California is no exception. What is a splinter for you, could be a machete for someone else.

Anyway, to end this on a high note, I'm glad that you can understand what went wrong last year and why this is so important to the LGBT community.

  8. It does start out really slow, but the horror and gore picks up once they get to the twister. That said, I still feel that all the back story and setup in the first few episodes are worth it because it builds up a more twisted psychological thriller vibe to go along with the story's horror and gore. They've really added a lot of different elements that make it a much more interesting story. The entire experience might not be as fast paced and in your face as the movie but it still holds it's weight as a tv show.

Also, I'll admit that the acting gets a bit rough in a few areas and the writing leaves something to be desired at times especially when compared to the raw, snappy writing that Tarantino exhibited in the movie. However, saying that it is horrible and atrocious is being overly dramatic. You cannot question Murdy or Rodriguez, and you cannot say that it's a horrible show IF you have not even seen it in it's entirety. Just like you can't watch 10 minutes of a movie or listen to the first 15 seconds of a song and write it off as trash. I see that horror is desired with this show, and horror is what you get, but if all you're watching for is to see blood, guts, and death then you will be very disappointed.

If your opinion does not change after watching the whole season then it's just a matter of personal taste. I mean, obviously the show wasn't horrible if the ratings were positive enough to give it a second season. Moreover, I think it's just horror shows people have a problem with. When horror moves from movies to tv, it changes. It has to. It becomes drawn out and more complex. How else would they fill the 15 hours of every season as opposed to the 2 hours for movies. People think the same of The Walking Dead and yet here it remains with 4 successful and critically acclaimed seasons and a 3rd year at both HHNs.

  9. I just had a random thought. What if he's using Krampus and the Wendigo legend to test and see which one would be more popular as a maze. (I just really want a krampus or wendigo maze lol)

I'm guessing Dark Christmas has a better chance. Universal's Krampus movie comes out next year (albeit too late for HHN) and is directed my Michael Dougherty. Sounds like good maze potential especially if it has a successful scarezone to support it.

  10. The one thing though that I'd wish they sold during the day which is one of the little reasons I can't wait for HHN is the jello shots!

I thought those were alcoholic when I first saw them. I hate energy drinks, but I bought one anyway just for the fun of pretending it's an actual syringe. If anyone is interested, I can be persuaded to part with it for the right price. Bidding starts at $500. Help me, I'm poor.
