  1. CP is my most anticipated. I like to think of it as HHN's take on the haunted mansion at Disney because of the similarities between the two and considering GDT's interest in rebooting the haunted mansion. Plus, I've always wanted to go on that ride with an actually scary overlay so this works for me.

Not as excited about the new scare zones but I'm sure they'll be great. For now, DC still has my heart.

  2. Um... make them animatronic... duh......

That was a joke, btw. Don't attack please. Lol the molds were amazing. It's how they were used. They just looked too stiff at times. I know it's an upgrade that could probably only be fixed by CGI or triple the budget. But I still think movement could be improved a bit.

  3. Last year's AVP wasn't in my top 3 either. But I'm not a big fan of puppets so that's probably why. Aside from the incredible set, most of what I remember of the maze were aliens that looked and moved too much like puppets. I'm guessing maybe that's due to the difficulty of maneuvering the costume. Hopefully that's one of the things Murdy upgraded. Either way, it's a really fun maze.

  4. So uh... anyway. Murdy said we should get another maze announcement early next week. Well, I think he said announcement. Might be the Terror Tram. But I think Terror Tram could be revealed with the site. Didn't they do that with Chucky before since it was an in-house property?

I think this year is shaping up very oddly. I don't know what to expect from it. So far, there's nothing jaw-dropping awesome yet to be announced. Last year's AVP announcement was legendary, and I think every year, HHN should find that fandom favorite yet to be done and blow us away. Murdy says HHN is about taking risks. IMO, none of those have really paid off in amazing form yet, so I think that's an odd declaration -- I'd much rather they play it safe with GREAT IPs yet to be done, original mazes that'll scare the shit out of us and upcoming films with lots of potential. He said La Llorona was a risk, but how? Because there's dead children? It was dark and that should be expected from this event, if ya ask me. Everything else like Cooper, UMR, Clowns have been either decent to pretty horrid.

I think maybe he means La Llorona was a risk because it was based on an urban legend that only a certain demographic would be familiar with.

This is a very strange year but I'm okay with it.(?) The way he described each maze on twitter today tells me he was looking moreso for variety this year. Which could be useful as a sort of survey to see which types of houses will do well with today's HHN crowd. And if you accept that idea, it also shows that he's thinking ahead for future years.. As in he's keeping his position for a while longer. Food for thought...

  5.

Dont mind me being a wet blanket guys lmao I'm glad you youngin's get to see this who did not in 09 but sh*t man for someone who seen the original maze this a carbon copy with a new paint job. It'll be a good maze that last one was but I'm let down.

I love the blonde girl in that video. She is just not having it. Girl would have the most gruesome death in horror movies, I'm sure of it.

If any idea is used from Orlando, I hope it's the strobe scene with the multiple Michaels. I really wanted to see that in person. Also, here's hoping we get a video of Jamie Lee Curtis walking through the maze. God, please!

  6. Face it bro, its a maze! I never said that was the only reason he chose Tite. The movie has big name actors and HHN has never had a maze based on a legit horror comedy so of course there's more important deciding factors. The fact that Tite SPECIFICALLY spoofs on the first exorcism movie was probably just the cherry on top.

We won't know for sure until the maze is announced and he says he'll be including that scene. If he does than I'm sure he'll be doing some of the ideas that he thought up for The Exorcist, since he won't ever get the rights to it. It's foolish to think he'd let them go to waste.

Were you talking about the Vatican Tapes? That movie sucked (IMO), had no big stars, bombed at the box office and I'm sure all the religious aspects don't help any.

Ps- Not to sound like a horror afficianado/nerd but 28days features fast/infected zombies while Shaun features Romero type zombies. My first thought would be, 28 Days Later = Zombieland. I don't see how that is so crazy either. Different movies but can pull off similiar elements/situations.

I didn't write that in response to whatever it was you said. I'm also not sure why you decided to pick up a two week old conversation that has changed in the time since it started.

Ps - no worries, bro. You do not sound like an aficionado/nerd. ;)

  7. Ugh. I would've loved another Slaughter World or Rocky Horror. Although, I'm not too ashamed to say that I was quite a fan of ABDC in the beginning of its run. I even went to a couple tapings of it in the first season lol. Jabbawockeez are very professional and I'm sure their show will be high quality. They have years of headlining in vegas as experience afterall. I'm guessing maybe horror nights took a hint from the success of the dance crew show at Knotts? Then again.. that was probably only successful because of Elvira.

  8. Yeah, of course. I totally get that. Freddy and Jason have incredibly loyal fanbases and there's no question that an FvJ maze would do very well.

I just look at it this way: 18 million viewers... That's a property that's guaranteed to sell itself especially since it has connections to both parks. So with TWD a guarantee, it seems like it was more of a decision between FvJ and Crimson Peak. And they aren't going to be able to do CP any year like they could FvJ. So there's that. FvJ will come soon I'm sure.

  9. I mean... this past season of TWD was it's most watched yet, bringing in almost 18 million viewers and making it one of the highest rated tv shows out there. Plus, John did just say that twitter and Facebook commenters do not make up the majority of HHN attendees. So apparently, this is what the gp wants and this is a good selling point.

I'm guessing maybe John does realize that many people are getting upset with TWD dominating the event. And maybe that's why it did not return as a sz or terror tram theme this year. Idk... count your blessings?

  10. how would it work for a show? Just curious?

I feel the same IF it is happening I doubt it's to sustain his desire for a Exorcist maze... if that was the case that's kind of depressing.

It could be like The Hanging or Bill & Ted. A celebrity roast. The show is set at Franco's house where celebrities meet and get killed off one by one during the apocalypse. One or more of the main characters could host. And the last celeb alive gets to join the backstreet boys in the finale number. lol

  11. Putting my 2 cents in: Have we already considered or shot down the possibility of TitE being the premise for the new show? Sounds like that could work. Maybe the leak list was for everything and not just mazes?

I just find it hard to believe that Murdy would choose TitE to be a maze because of his love for The Exorcist. There are a ton of other, more suitable exorcism movies floating around out there, one of them with a release date coming up. I mean... if it were me and I wanted 28 Days Later but couldn't have it, my first thought wouldn't be to try for Shaun of the Dead. But maybe that's just me.

  12. well they've had some ceilings for AVP, HoTC and several other mazes. IDK why they couldn't  ofhave for Insidious.

Well most of insidious took place in a house. That's a lot of ceiling and plumbing to put in especially with a limited time and budget. But again... I'm not a maze contractor.. lol

Most likely, they must have figured it wasn't necessary. After all, this is the first I've heard of the lack of ceiling being a big problem.

I assume that I3 will be one of if not the biggest draws for the event this year. Maybe with all that attention will come time and money spent getting you your ceiling ;)

  13. So it occurred to me yesterday that they might not be able to use the FDTD spot because of what happened on Halloween last year. Idk if any of you guys were there on Halloween, but it rained like crazy and flooded that location out. It became a health hazard really quickly. Obviously this may not be the case, it's just something that popped my head after a few glasses of wine. Who knows?

I didn't know that. Was the maze shut down that night?

Sounds more and more like the leaked lineup. He's gonna piss people off with the fact that there's only 6 mazes, TWD, AVP, and This is the End.

I'm pretty sure he was referring to the wait till the next announcement as what would piss people off. But who knows?

  14. Just a little fyi: they'd be required by law to install overhead sprinklers if they added a ceiling to mazes. I'm not a construction expert, but I'm sure that would cost too much for just slightly elevated feeling of immersion. Ceilings would be nice, but I don't really have a difficult time with suspending my disbelief.

I'm also super pumped to see another insidious maze. I really hope they put in the hospital from chapter 2... for no reason other than me wanting to see an abandoned hospital.. lol. It's not a bad way to connect chapter 3 and the man who can't breathe with his mask and hospital gown.
