It makes sense for the area's to be specifically cast first but I think that the emails go out at random. Just because you get yours first doesn't mean too much.
I would say that funny deaths are good because they stand out. You aren't just doing what everyone else does. You are acting in a unique way that stands out in their mind. My best advice is to be different. Don't do what everyone else does because then you don't stand out.

Super excited to see these main icons coming back to HHN. I'm shocked they didn't announce our TCM with Orlando's but none the less it should be a good one

Orlando just released that the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre is coming to their event. Screamscape might be right on that report of TCM and The Exorcist.

I had the same problem! All the videos I would see I would be in it super quick or be transitioning from another scare. This is the first year I've seen photos and some longer video, still not doing a whole lot sadly ahah

Opening night, that's the deadline. Sure you can't completely judge based on the EP night, but saying to wait a few weekends before judgment is not acceptable. 99% of people attending opening weekend are only going to the event that one time, so everything needs to be AS INTENDED by the time the first person walks into the park for early entry on September 18th. They won't get a second chance to judge, that will be their one and only time, and if they walk away from this year saying "this year sucked," then their opinion is going to be completely valid and hold up because they saw the INTENDED product. Yes, things will improve and will get better as things go along, but one can rightfully judge once opening night begins from their one trip. Once opening night hits, anything good or bad is now apart of the event's history and Murdy/Universal has to answer for it.
Not everyone can be like me and can judge the year as a whole from 2 - 3 visits. But real judgment begins this Friday, so be ready, because any criticisms starting from that point on are valid.
Everything set wise, maze wise, and creative wise should be done by opening weekend. There isn't really an excuse to not have everything finished by the opening of the event. I also agree with you that not everyone can go twice and they will base there judgement on one trip whether its opening night or the last night. Everything you said is totally true, I meant my statement more on a performer side. They don't give us many chances or time to be in a position and be amazing in our spot. Its just deep end first and learn how to swim before you drown. Maybe Universal doesn't have the time or resources to give us more of an opportunity to rehearse. This doesn't go for everyone though, some pick it up and run with it. Like I have been hearing about Insidious just outright killing it

When Chucky was brought back the year before last he told a guy that "He was so fat that his d*ck should be name John Cena because it's saying you can't see me" called some young girls "young ratchet" "Banana Hoes", said some guy was "hiding his man t*ts" and threatened to fight someone. He rambles but he does not have the captive audience with this being unofficial but it is the opposite of watered down.
He was definitely saying some stuff I didn't know they let him say. During the rehearsal we had that year he was there and I remember them limiting him to his dialogue.
You guys would be disappointed with the information Murdy told us about shows... (at least told Walking Dead).
I think he told us the same thing as well.

Preview night is always an interesting night, scareactors are gaining their footing in their positions or just completely new to the event. A lot of stuff isn't done or still being worked on so I wouldn't judge the event to harshly based off of last night. Give the event a couple weekends to get a good stride going and then place your judgement.

The show is actually really good. Its interesting and funny at parts. Its not what Bill & Ted used to be but its also nothing like it. Bill & Ted got taken away for what some see as a bogus reason but it happened. Once Universal takes something away it doesn't always come back even if its new and scripted differently (Chucky is an exception but that wasn't even close to how it was before)

I was in the park Friday and didn't notice anything besides the souvenir cups which had the generic purge terror tram logo on it. As for any other merchandise I did not notice anything in the stores yet.

My rehearsal is tonight and I'm pretty excited for it! With all the construction going on I've been curious as to how everything will be laid out and presented. I'm glad everyone else had a nice time at their rehearsals!

3 more weeks!!!!!! Ill be wearing my halloween shirt that i got at my first haunt in 2009. I hope they have a good HHN year shirt this year i didn't care much for the ones the past couple years
The only shirts I like are the ones with all the mazes on it, the others are kinda boring

What exactly do they go over, out of curiosity?
Just the basics of effective scaring, they show us a video or demonstration or what do I expect lol?He will provide information for every maze, scarezone, etc. Basically detailing the entire event to us. Then we rotate to learn proper and safe scaring, some safety tips, some HR stuff, but its mainly focused on the scaring side.

Thanks for that info! Its Friday now and I haven't gotten any sort of status update, but my gut is telling me I probably won't hear anything until after the event starts. I don't like holding out for hope that people will quit, but I guess that's all I can really do at this point. When do they typically do another audition? After they've used the backfill people?
Yeah it sucks to wait but that's all there really is at this moment. Auditions are held usually after the event starts and they need more people for the event. I would assume its after everyone they can use has been used

I haven't heard anything about that. I thought I remember Murdy saying they would be held for this year.

That's not totally true. Victim roles are cast with males and females alike. Females can play any role throughout HHN from streets to mazes and everything in between. Don't think you'll get cast as a victim just because you're a female, you could be any role
Typically they are separate days. They could always change something up but for the past 6 years it's been different days.
