  1. I have Halloween on top of that list, Aliev vs Predator sounds like a strong one as well. Just because a house is on a tent does not disqualify it from HOTY (Havoc Dogs of War, Dead Exposure), and last year wasent't an IP house of the year?

I'll check them out before rolling my crystal ball and making predictions. Competition is very stiff this year.

  2. I never had any problem with the hordes in 2012. the actors were everywhere, they were fun, their costumes were interesting.

4 zones sounds very little for a park that is so big. Universal keeps disregarding the streets so much, soon the park won't be any different from the daytime except for the music.

maybe you don't care at all about the streets but for some of us the streets are as important as the houses. Specially when the lines for the houses are 2 hours. when that happens is when the streets really shine because while people wait 2 hours to see a house for 5 minutes you can walk in the zones as many times as you want and get scared just as many times.

The houses are great but they alone do not make the event. the shows and the streets make HHN what it is. take those away and all you get is the regular park with scary music. What's fun about that?

You said it, some of you. I always have tons of fun everytime i go. Btw i never said i didn't care at all about scare zones, but like the MAJORITY of people, i go for the houses and the scarezones are something i pass through to get to those houses, not something i camp in and walk through it over, and over again. They have 4, four, cuatro zones, and big ones at that, and maybe some extras that we don't know about. You got your zones back, so be greatful for that instead of finding something to complain, and cry about.

  3. In my opinion, (and maybe I'm alone in this) I would rather have them cut back 1 house and do a bunch more scare zones. When I look at the HHN 20 map, there were 6 scare zones (8 houses too). I see room for at least 3 more potential areas on top of that which could be converted into scarezones. There is a side street near Sting Alley that is basically deserted every night. I would love to see the Springfield area transformed into a Tree house of Horror theme for HHN. There is also the large area where the Bayou scarezone is going this year. (at HHN 20 I'm pretty sure the scarezone was mainly in the wooded area).

I really do think the scarezones set the whole feel of the event. If they are lacking, people are going to complain even more than they already do.

Cut a house in order to add one or two scare zones???? Not happening buddy, the MAJORITY of people go for the houses (me included), not scare zones.

Fanboys are gonna complain no matter what, misery loves company.

  4. I guess people will find something to complain about no matter what. The bring scare zones back and it's not enoughbecause it's only four, if they gkept the format of the last couple of years then that's bad as well. It's like nothing's never good enough.

Still, many cool ideas in these boards, let's wait and see how it all plays out for those dead zones.

  5. Universal "turning their backs on their heritage"? Now that's funny, because what universal does is bring movies to life, and last year is proof of that, AWIL, Cabin in the woods, Evil Dead where all epic compared to Havoc 2, and the 3d house.I'll just second Legacy and Mistique instead of rehasing what's already been said. Hell, if you look way back we had ip's no website, and no icons, so if anything, we're back where we started. Just because some of us don't hold on to nostalgia, and are ok with the evolution of hhn does not mean we "don't care" or are less "fans" then those crying that the sky's falling. The general public is not "coveted" they're simply the majority. One last thing, shoehorning icons doesen't work look at hhn 21, even hhn 20 where they had some story i recall almost everyone bashing Fear to death, hell the storyteller wasen't even supposed to be the icon, they cooked her up the last minute because of a surge in lost children, thus making cindy a bit "politically incorrect" for that time. I go because it's good fun with my friends and it's simply a time to escape reality for a few hours, not because some website icon, or backstory that turns meaningless when you cross the turnstiles.

  6. The good thing is that they brought in this great IP and changed around the terrible story. So that they can tell the story in their own way. Now instead of getting a giant pyramid and benevolent predators, we get a freaking awesome weyland yutani spaceship and pissed off predators. I'm so glad they did this

This changes my whole perspective on the whole idea if that's the case. Making their own story out of an IP sounds like the way to go. In that case my interest is peaking towards AVP. :)

  7. Marketing manages that stuff now, and I can assure you they don't care what an obsessive pocket of fans know or don't know. The New Line agreement in 2007 was discovered in April and we still the second in-depth and complicated sites they've ever had. We knew Freddy, Jason and Leatherface were coming but, because A&D managed it more directly then, we got something awesome.

Leaks aren't new. The only difference is that now they're focused on attracting the people who aren't on a HHN website in December. The general public doesn't need or want complicated clues and in-depth stories. They still have no idea what's coming and all they want is a tweet and a photo. That's what Marketing is giving them.

Uni as a whole is growing, and that requires business decisions that obsessives may not like. But that's why we don't run the place. Fans want theme parks to stay the same. Theme park managers want to see the park survive, which requires change.

So, no. The lack of build to reveals isn't because of leaks. It's because of Facebook and Twitter and because now the event doesn't exist for us but for everyone else. Which is exactly where Universal wants it to be.

You hit the nail right on the head on this one Legacy.

  8. It's funny how some talk about "originality" but ask for the clown, director and so on and so on. Those characters have been over done to death, even worse then the walking dead. How is that original? The last icon was lady luck and she was bashed to kingdom come, in hhn 20they had all of your beloved icons and everybody especially here bashed the event for whatever reason. So some cry bloody murder because they "plaster" zombies in the streets, merchandise, billboards, and everywhere in between, yet silence rules when they "plaster" the same tired overused icons in merchandise, billboards, and streets. What draws me like a few others are the houses, and don't lose anysleep over icons, backstories, or some "overarching theme". Does that make me any less of a fan? I rwally don't think so.
