  1. Well look at that.  Something else to complain about, and without even seing completely the finished product.  You guys are hillarious.

What the heck... Hollywood gets the new Walking Dead attraction, Japan gets a fall Harry Potter makeover(with Death Eaters!), Singapore gets interactive marketing materials... What does Orlando get (other than more houses)? I kinda feel like we're getting shafted a little, especially considering the hike in ticket prices. This AHS house better be something special.

What else do you want, a BJ?  Are you really airing your first world problems for all to see?

Not sure what I said in what you quoted that required that kind of response...

It's no secret that most people, not just "fans", are sick of TWD being a maze. Just hang out at the exit to the maze and listen to the general public's reaction. Heard tons of normal guests talk about how bad it was last year. The lack of any real promotion on Universal part proves this...they are sick of it too! So, saying that they should use a property people are sick of to get the feel for a new house location just makes sense. Give the new IP's that they are marketing the better locations.

I personally could care less if TWD stays or goes, but for you to speak and advertise as a fact that all people are "sick" of it's just dumb on your part becausr wait times say something different from what your saying, and i'm sure that smarks like you have a conspiracy theory for that as well.  The point is that you can kick and scream all you want, thry will put houses whereever they see fit, end of story.  I doubt they're losing sleep over what you two lil cents are.  That's all I have to say.

Are we for sure that Chance is going in Shrek and TWD is in a SS? I would rather them put TWD in the new tent (lets them work out and test a new location with a property they are sick of working with and know fans don't want anyway) and stick Krampus in a soundstage. Is the showstage that can be chilled already taken? That would be ideal for Krampus.

Also, I could see them changing the line setup a bit this year. I could see the old Twister line (C on the map) going to where Body Collectors was last year (D on the map). Then move D back where RUN was last year and just go left behind the Mummy. Two reasons for this:

    1) Twister (and the area around it) is very much an active construction site and so they can't have people in it. They can't cram both line (4 in total) into D's location either and it can't go near the old bathrooms because of the line requirements of another house using that path.

    2) With no house for a LONG stretch of road, that area will see a lot less foot traffic and everything else will feel busier. This gets a house entrance in an empty area to help draw people back there. With no rides from Mummy until Gringotts, that is a lot of empty space. It looks like they could make it work with a fairly clear shot back to the soundstage areas running behind Mummy with the only big issue being the train tracks above.

Are some of you really still going around in circles with the whole "we are the fans, hear us roar" , and TWD is yucky yucky garbage?  Jesus some things just never change.  You so called 'fans" barely make up a 10 percent and that's being super extra generous.  Be happy and chew on the scraps they give you as a "fan" and move on bro,.

  4. Dang, many here would never have survived the earlier years when you would get everything announced all at once lol.  We got a little over a month before the gates open for HHN, I'm sure if y'all waited a year you can wait a few more days.  Just sayin :)

  5. I'm not sure why everyone is complaining about the marketing. It's not awful. True, its not like it was in the past...but it's not the past. HHN has changed, they are looking at it like a business. So they are going to cater to the GP because that's where the money is. We're all going to the event and we're all going to have a good time. Marketing isn't for the people who come back every year. It's to draw new people in. And the videos they made give a mystery, mystery draws people in.

A&D try their best to appease the long time fans, but their reach is limited due to corporate. Appealing to a small niche group isn't profitable. Appealing to many is. So I'm not upset with the direction they are heading because I am optimistic. You guys should be too.

Very well said.  Hit nail right on head.

  6. I too got to experience RUN 01.  I for one have been attending since 95 and still have not walked through a house at HHN that can even get near of the caliber of what RUN was.  Bright lights, strobes, and chain link fences as far as the eye can see.  Like Mistique said, RUN was the embodiedment of what really defines a maze.  I for one went in with a party of five only to have a scarecter slame a fence right on my face and venture through the rest with one person from my party.  Dead ends, shifting and it took me like half an hour to finally escape that puppy lol.  Unfortionitly with todays crowds a maze like RUN is impossible to puul off.

  7. 1. It's internal demo, not a full blown building demo.

    2. When it comes to construction projects, deadlines is everything, when it's time to start, it's time to start. There's no "let's delay the project back month and a half so that hhn fanatics can have a pleasant time.

The reality is that things just don't work like that. Let's just wait and see what happens before jumping to conclusions. Mistique got it right.

  8. Potter obstructed a huge path......... Hell, the construction of Rockit was a huge obstruction and Universal found a way to work around it.

HHN has zero deciding factor on when to demolish Twister. Comcast and Uni reps arent sitting around going "You know, we could start demolition and construction on a new attraction to get it ready for the 2016-2017 season.... BUT we cant because a line queue for Horror Nights is much more important!"

    Exactly!

  9. So you're tired of TWD and Icons? What do you suggest then to switch things up? New Icons always flop (example being Lady Luck, Fear) and TWD I do agree is a dead horse, a skeleton of a dead horse at this point. Idk where else they can take it. That's why Universal doesn't pay me the big bucks.

BTW, i meant the whole topic is beating a dead horse, not just TWD. Just in case you're purposely twisting my words.

Nice try but not quite. Just refer back to what legacy, and and ThN posted for my take since they where spot on point. That's all.

  10. I could see this being just bait to get all of you spending inordinate amounts of time trying unscramble what amounts to nothing. Why wouldn't they do that? Because why would they? If they were going to spend time on the website, I'd hope it'd be to actually give us some story or something else a bit more exciting. It's a tease.

Unrelated question: Is something up with the site because everything is white now with the comments in black. Before, it was the reverse.. Did I inadvertently do something?

You're good hunnylvr, it's the new layout for the site. As far as the letters go, i too believe it's just a tease and a whole lot of nothing.

  11. I can't see them cramming a house on the Shrek theatre, but then again i could be wrong.

Just for the record, Im ok with Jack, i'm also ok without Jack, the same goes for TWD, those are just things that don't really shake me for nothing tbh. I simply was pointing out the inconsistancies with this tired worn out debate. And let's face it Jack stopped being original years ago, and it's as played out as TWD. Regardless I always look forward to September every year.

  12. Soooo...It's ok to repeat something over and over and over and over as long as it's something you like. That's what i'm gettin from some in here. Something's wrong upstairs when a rehashed concept, and over used character,.,.,.Excuse me, i mean icon (don't wanna hurt feelings), and how the numbers in the event tittle gets some all gitty and saying "it's something atleast". Yet they bringTWD for 3/4 years and WW3 breaks out lol. Just an observation, nothing more. :P

  13. Here's the deal though. There is no way that is true. Our info comes from (or came from for me anyway) inside sources who had to have the correct info to do their job. This isn't just one person but dozens. The same info (with only very minor differences) was handed out across the board to the sources. This is how it has pretty much always been.

Last I checked (and admittedly that has been a month as I no longer do that) nothing has changed. I have not heard about an upheaval (which I undoubtedly would even though I keep saying stop sending me info) so all these rumors about Alice not being 3D and run being nixed etc. etc... I really can't get on board with.

At this point it's best to wait anyway. There is some cool stuff coming. But obsessing over the list of houses and rumors of things getting nixed seems... superfluous. I know it's all out there and nothing is left to do but it would be nice to see some things happen organically.

Edit: Voice to text makes you sound like an idiot.

Bingo! Thanks for clearing up what i was trying to articulate earlier. You see? We can get along bro. :)

  14. There are ways to do it. I wouldn't imagine it would be the first time a company kept people in the dark about what exactly they're making.

The problem with the theory is the fact that it wouldn't be worth it to expend the resources and pull out all the stops to ensure each department is kept unaware of what they're making. Which for this line of work is impossible anyways.

Frankly, it sounds very much like a fan's dream. A precaution that would keep us guessing in times of speculation.

They're not going to do that for us.

Not much different from what i said. You cannot keep certain sectors within A and D in the dark, it just doesen't work.

With that being said, homeboy got what he wanted, some much needed attention, I for one will not play along.

  15. The problem with the "different lists" theory is that every department needs to be in perfect unison since there's makeup, costumes, props and so on. Throwing around different lists to different departments would be chaotic logistacally speaking.

  16. Being that yesterday was Earth Day, may I suggest that if you are attending multiple nights that you hang on to your glasses and reuse them as many times as you can? Just sayin.. and yes, we do that, so I'm not being a hypocrite.

That was beautiful. .. and so sickeningly accurate.

I believe that the late great George Carlin said it best about Earth Day (You can find it on youtube). To honor his memory i'll take full advantage of those lovely plastic containers at the house exit. But that's just me :-p.
