  1. Friends! Ive gone to HHN for 10 years now but coming from out of state I can only afford to go one night a year (I'm going this saturday). Imagine how nerve wracking it is to only be able to go one night (its scarier than HHN)  I always need to be as prepared as possible. If ya'll could help me out with these questions I will send you a large virtual hug:

Can anyone link me to a map for this year so I can plan my attack?!

what order do you suggest I do houses this year?

what houses do they open first for stay and scream.

what are the wait times like (is there a house with the longer waits)

and most importantly do all the soundstage houses do that thing where they let you out super far away from the entrance? I hear it's bad this year!!!

    Thanks in advance friends!

  3. Fallon is the most atrocious thing I have ever seen at Universal studios. Fallon is worse than HHN marketing.  I have more fun riding the caro-suess-el. I have never been more appalled at a ride. After going on for the first time, I actually apologized to my family for suggesting we go on it. Twister was fantastic.

EDIT: I was going to like my own post to drive the point home. But alas I cannot....

I traced the outline of the wording, looks like the tagline.

That Better not be the house shirt.... it is atrocious.

Anyway, let me publicly invite any of the Nightmares family to say hi or join up to go through a house.  Very often you might recognize us because at least one of us will be wearing a Nightmares shirt every night while the others wear Dare 2 Escape shirts (we have to advertise, ya know?).  AND, we are three middle-aged women who will walk little circles around you young 'uns.    hahahah  Occasionally, all three of us will have the makeup done as well.  I love that stuff!

I've definitely seen you around the event a couple of times now that you've described yourself. You've got a great crew! hope to see you there, I'll be at the event  Oct. 1st.

  5. Critical Analysis would be fun to go with too, But solely because I simply cannot picture him going through the mazes Like I can everyone else. Does he smile? Does he walk around with a report card, grading as he goes? Is he writing on the forum as he walks through the house?

(This is a joke btw respect for every one on here)

  6. I'm bored. And kind of tired of hearing people complain about marketing. SOOOO heres a fun question! If you could chose one person in this forum to go to the event with, Who would it be and why?

I'd probably choose Hunnylvr or Mystiquephreeq (sorry if I butchered the spelling) cause I tend to align most with their point of views and they seem pretty rad!

Oh I would also be extremely dissapointed if we got This is The End, Ghostbusters, and Babadook.

As for more originals I feel a sequel to the Spawning would suck, but if they rebooted it a la Ghosttown and made it scarier it'd be good

If we got a This is the end house, I would move to singapore

  8. since there's not much else to talk about, I'm posing a question. Name any house original or IP that would piss you off the most if Orlando were to announce it today.

Mine would probably be either a Slenderman house or Lunatics Playground 2: Now with extra 3D

My mind must have blocked that out. The novel takes precedence.

Hallorann (I just realized that my autocorrect changed the spelling) survives in the novel. He plays a pivotal teaching role in Doctor Sleep.

I really need to read Doctor Sleep... Also, Hallorann's cameo in "It" is arguably one of my favorite parts of the novel.

^I didn't get to experience Catacombs, but given that I loved TotA, I reckon it'd be up my alley. :)

With The Shining, while I hope it wouldn't be the whole maze, I'd love for part of it to be somewhat abstract, specifically on Jack's inner turmoils--think of a hallway with "ALL WORK AND NO PLAY MAKES JACK A DULL BOY" projected everywhere (including misspellings) with the smell of alcohol pumped in, you can even have the sound of a baby crying (the night Jack broke Danny's arm--I know it wasn't shown in the Kubrick movie buuuut it was mentioned and like I said, abstract).

Throw in a misty room of shower curtains the deformed old lady stalking you, a mirror trick scare with the twins, the obligatory catch phrase (do I need to say?) and the obvious hedge maze finale in a building kept at a cool temperature and wind blowing, and you'd have one heck of a house, IMO.

    Thoughts?

Well... when you put it that way. That's a house I can get behind! :) Solid Ideas all around! The only problem is, that still seems like a pretty short maze. It'll be interesting to see how they beef it up a bit

No, you have opinions. There's no right or wrong w/r/t opinions, which is what makes your attitude even worse in this regard.

Seems like they made their peace back on page 14 if you'd like to go back and read through that.

Critical is a person with opinions just like you and me. And maybe we should talk about how SWEET a catacombs house would be instead of fighting about who wears an ass as a hat and who doesn't.

    but that's just my opinion...

And we're already seeing shit, generic marketing folks. A boring announcement for an expected IP on the existing website's template with no teaser for this year (meaning, remember how Jack was teased at the end of, what was it, 24? Nothing this year).

I mean seriously... there wasn't even an interesting design or photo for AHS on the website just the name of the house in front of a gray backdrop.

Also, Since this is Speculation.... my mind has recently gone to thinking about HOW in the world they would do a Shining house if they even got the property... I mean with the Exorcist they proved they could make something out of a one room situation. But I would NOT be hyped on seeing Jack pop out from some doors with an axe for the entire house. And the blood elevator.... something tells me we'd get some lame projection similar to FvJ. Room 237 could be cool although they'd definitely censor the tub lady. I guess there could be a decent snow maze with.... wait for it.... more Jack's with an axe

I'd be way more hyped on an IT house.... Seriously Have you guys seen the new 29 neibolt street house? Its Terrifying!

  13. I would be cool with just seeing the roanoke house as a facade... the asylum and "coven house" (whatever) are kind of weak but DAMN that house from season six looks Great!

Otherwise. Yeah a proper ending would be nice, and something tells me we will get it this time, since none of the big bad guys from seasons 2,3,6 really stand out as much as Twisty did. Last year they jumped at any opportunity to put Twisty in the maze, but this year they're actually going to have to try and get creative.

I'm also wondering if this is going to be a "Megahouse" like last years house. Last years walkthrough felt SO long, It'd be a shame if it got cut down.

  14. Just an update because I'm extremely proud of myself and I want to share this with you guys, but thanks to your guys' help (and sheer will power) I was able to do TWENTY houses last night A new personal best! (I also got to go through my hundredth horror nights house last night! It was a fantastic walk through of TCM and I got EVERY scare!)

    I feel so accomplished

  15. Hey everyone, . I was hoping to get some of your guys' expertise and help. I live in Massachusetts and I only have one night at HHN this Sunday. I've been going for seven years now and I've never missed a house but this years wait times have got me worried that I might not make it to every house this year.

Do you guys that have gone this year have any tips or House orders that you could suggest to me (which houses have the longest waits?)

Im doing stay and scream and I'm waiting in the holding area by the mummy.

Really any response (long or short) would be appreciated. You guys really are such a helpful community.
