  1. You know, "Cindy Caine"on her (his? their?) Facebook page dropped a supposed clue referencing the movie "Predators".

Could it be possible that we, the HHN fans, are being drawn to the event under false pretenses? Could it be that we are actually being drawn there not to be guests, but to become the prey in a cat-and-mouse game with some sort of otherworldly big game hunters, in a supernatural-themed twist on "The Most Dangerous Game?" Could I be half-drunk on this pitcher of White Russians? Could be...could be.

Not to sound like a teenager girl but...OMG.

    Brilliant thought B.

  2. Or maybe he go socurious about the icons that when he does come across the Lantern he opens it, unleashing all Hell and evil onto the world?

That would stick with the whole Pandora's Box-type thing.

I'm not one to speculate scenarios, but I figured I'd add in here. :)

Yup. I completely agree. Except the fact the the lantern was accidentally broken and the souls unleashed.

  3. Has the lantern shown up in previous years? I mean, maybe it has and we haven't realized it.

Jack-o-lantern...the fires the forged the blade...fire queen (opposite of ice queen)... burst of fire from the lake....lit torches.....

Could the fire be it and the lantern only a containment vessel and appears to be weakening on the HHN site?

Now that is a GREAT thought Sir. Nicely done.

  4. Ok, one question though about LT at the park. This all seemed to be over the course of many nights of the event last time. Is it not really worth it if you're just going for a night or so or is there still considerable running around you can do in a night or so?

There are select nights they do it. Not something you can do every night to my knowledge.

  5. still... from the game's perpective LT calls the shots. They hold the narrative and timeline of what is revealed and when. To say you were sent to them is attempting to alter their narrative without outcome. Sure its all in fun, but its not like the story will be rewriten so that they take you in to fing out who "he" is.

I know this :) But this is LT folks. You never know what they are waiting for someone to say, ask or speculate to release new information until afterward. Sometimes it is the most random statements that touch on something that provide us with insight.

I'm perfectly happy looking at this from an uncommon perspective.

If she would have responded saying "are you speaking of ........" with a name we weren't familiar with everyone would think I'm a genius for my approach. So, in a way, the perceived insanity of my approach is only due to timing. ;)

  6. wow...just, wow. Ignatia is probably going WTF rite now.

What if my goal is to join them? If we look at this as an actual event and play it in character I have approached them telling them I have been sent to them and have information. Which is what they want.

If we look at it from the outside, non-playing world, yes this looks nuts. But that's not the point. We all look nuts to the outsiders at this point ;)

  7. For the curious. I have spoken to Ignatia Himmel. She asked who "HE" was that I spoke of.

My response was "I apologize for the anonymity in my initial correspondence. The nameless "HE" is derived from the Greek word anonymia. At this time, I do not know "his" name. Only to contact the group with the closest form of correspondence. His disciple was to bring the lantern back safely. But something went wrong. I am here to report."

  8. It's fairly clear from the emails people have had back and forth with her that she doesn't tend to respond to things we all know are shots in the dark for info like that. Lol I don't think that's stopped any of us, myself included, from trying! She responds well to short simple questions that don't give her the opportunity to say just "yes or no" Keep in mind guys, I'd easily guess most of the questions she gets are "Whats the password!?" or "Hey whats the theme for this year?!" So if you pose an interesting question to her, odds are she may well respond.

Never hurts ;) So far everything I have speculated on about the event has come true. If LT is truly reading these boards they will know that and realize I may be of great help as I have additional insight and knowledge into what is to come.

  9. and the lantern holds all the souls

kinda makes sense ,the new scare zone was red and had past icons

Yup. Suggested the red hue significance last year and its relation to hell, souls and the lantern a couple months back. Glad to finally get some supporters to this after recent events. Even mentioned the photos after clicking the lantern may mean LT is investigating. The next day, LT was back.

One idea that I really liked, that someone else mentioned, was all of us essentially being "the icon" this year as LT members investigating HHN. That would be genius.

  10. I posted in the website update thread that the usage of polaroid photos could hint at LT investigating new cases. Whether LT is interactive for us or not is a separate conversation. So the photos might not hint at any icon (a Photographer) at all. Just crime scenes being investigated.

Lantern is also a part of the investigation it seems. How long until my speculation on last year's final week being bathed in red signifying hell, and then the latern's flames literally being hell, holding the souls, souls being released by accident, etc etc come true...Interesting.

  11. New Roles added! Wolfman and Frankenstein in Hollywood Blv. and Alice in the Parade building.

I have to imagine if this is a scare zone they will be old school Wolfman and Frankenstein (also at last year in old school form). Last year those two, updated, monsters' houses were pretty intense.

  12. what if it was opened on purpose by someone unknow to us?

it would give LT a purpose this year

I posted in the website update thread that the usage of polaroid photos could hint at LT investigating new cases. Whether LT is interactive for us or not is a separate conversation. So the photos might not hint at any icon (a Photographer) at all. Just crime scenes being investigated.

Well, "Jack Schmidt"...which I just now realized is a variation on "Jack Shit" (I'm slow)...stated on his Facebook page that the lantern blowed up real good becaquse "...enough people have stared" at it. I really like that...the idea that it is US as fans who are releasing the icons from their slumbers. Perhaps OUR psychic energy...indeed, THIS VERY speculation...is powering their return.

And maybe the new icon has come in to gather them all back up? Maybe, maybe not. Either way it's a cool idea.

I like that thought. Turning us into the manifestation of the icons. We are at fault. And, as I suggested before, a new icon will come in and clean up the mess as the souls were supposed to be his/hers. Then next year they will wage a war of terror on us in anger.

  13. Who was it who suggested that this year's icon would be a personification of Fear? That is seeming more likely to me now. I am also getting a "Welcome to Hell" vibe from some of this, but I doubt they'd do anything as obvious as actually having Satan as an icon...that WOULD rile the Puritans. (Though it'd be funny as all Hell.) And remember, HHN already HAS a devil...two of them, actually, if you count Knightmare. All this speculation about a new icon has me doubting that either Darkness or Knightmare would be the icon but I actually would be OK with Darkness as the head cheese, releasing all the icons from Hell for one last romp. It makes sense.

Agree completely. I have commented on that sort of thing happening. Except for the icon aspect. I think the release of the souls from within the lantern (ie Hell) is/was a complete accident. Would make for an interesting storyline.

  14. I like the conspiracy theory. We've become embroiled in a game of win or lose, life or death....

...okay, not life or death. Still, I like to think that TPTB (the powers that be = Universal) engage in this little cat and mouse every year because it's fun to try to outwit us.

    Mae

This is what draws us embroiled, message board folks to the event each year. That extra layer of interactivity, mystery and fun that comes from subtle hints and play on words from those in the know. :)
