  1. From they way the Maze description sounds we are starting off in the Scout Ship that the Predalien causes to crash. It would feel haphazard if we start off in America and end up in a Pyramid in Bouvetøya. The rustic walls from the MiceChat update could be the Gunnison Power Plant from the film. I don't think Murdy cares if the film did bad or if it's 7 years old, it's the simple fact he gets to bring these two iconic monsters to HHN.

I hope it's this mix. It seems like Orlando got around the Alien rights dilema by making original environments that might as well be the Nostromo.

The way they got around the Disney/Alien rights was doing AVP (and not mentioning the Xenomorph by name any of the official press releases[which makes me chuckle]). The Weyland-Yutani installation in Central America seems more like the location from the Game than the Nostromo.
  2. Actually Insidious is considered the best maze Hollywood has done :P

Anyways from what I'm getting AvP seems to be like The Thing 2011 maze on steroids. Hope it lives up to its hype.

True. The GP is always right. :) Ah The Thing... the scene with Juliette running at you got me so good. I have faith AVP is going to hold up, Predators aren't scary but the Xenomorphs are an entirely different story.

  3. ....... is a pretty big fact that AVP will cost more for its rights, for make up, costumes, and sets and is 100 times trickier to design than TrT haha there's no opinion about it.

Just because it costs more to produce doesn't necessarily make it a better Maze. TCM: Back in Business in 2007 was probably cheaper to produce than a lot of the mazes made in recent years and it's still considered the best Maze Hollywood has ever done.

  4. Sam, Vampires, Werewolves, Zombie Children in creepy Halloween Costumes. The eery but beautiful locations... Trick 'R Treat has a ton of potential.

Ugh. I really wished I could have gone in that attraction. The one time I had a shot at this, I was a whining, crying four-year-old begging my parents not to take me in there.

Darn that sucks... at least we are getting AVP haha. Maybe one day when Disney lets it go (hehe) Universal can do something with it.

  5. True, I guess. So are you guessing there won't be a terror tram next year then?

I'm not saying Terror Tram is leaving completely but it wouldn't surprise me if they allocated the money from Terror Tram to an actual replacement for House of Horrors. I guess we have to wait and see where they relocate the Psycho house and Bates Motel set.

  6. I realize that, but then why are we able to put a maze in SS747 and on the metro sets? I'm just saying it's a possibility. It's better than no TT.

It took years for us to get a Soundstage Maze. It's not as simple as "hey let's put this here." Even the area they allowed Murdy to use on the Metro Sets is confined to a small space. The Studio makes tons of more money from other Studios renting out the lot than Murdy renting it out for HHN. If it were that easy the event would have moved to the Backlot years ago.

  7. I highly doubt projection mapping would be used in the maze. It's much easier to do on a flatter surface and just wouldn't be worth it for one or two static predators. The radioactive demon effect seems more likely but the sets are defiantly gunna be more intricate than green dots on a rock wall so idk how they could actually do it.

Well they do have have the projectors from the V.I.P experience and to my knowledge they're not doing that this year(projection mapping) since Murdy isn't involved anymore. I don't think they would leave them laying around. It's not that difficult to project onto a Human figure. It's a task surely but it's not something Murdy and his Tech team can't pull off.

  8. I noticed something strange. I was watching the AVPR trailer cause I haven't seen the movie, and the Aliens sound identical to the vampires in the FDTD cast interview announcement. Could that have been a hint that we all missed? Prob just a coincidence but still

Correction the Vampires sound like the Xenomorphs haha. It was just a stock noise they used (which clearly is the Xenomorph).

  9. The trailer seemed very general with footage from both movies, so I think this will be basically an "original" version of the concept, perhaps with a few odes to the movies. Think Kill, Jason, Kill.

I hope that the queue will feature scenes from all the movies!

The trailer had nothing but Requiem footage except that one shot with (forgot his name, Celtic?) the Young blood predator.

  10. I'm excited for the puppets alone. I guess I need to watch Requiem. **Sigh** I have to watch a bad movie for HHN.

To reply to your comment on the Speculation thread, in the description for the maze it says a ship crash lands in a remote section of America where they "escape" into the countryside. Same thing happens in Requiem... does this mean Predalien? I sure freaking hope so

  11. Seems like Orlando is basing more on the game where Hollywood's maze is based more on Requiem. So what the heck is that rusty wall if it isn't the Whaling Station! Also if ADI is helping them and letting them use original molds those costumes are going to look amazing.
