  1. Nope he just said he's not working on that area for a scarezone.

But then this has my brain asking, 'did Murdy just toss a generic answer out as a way to deter people from continuously asking?' or is it one of his answers where he truly isn't working on Springfield ... outside of HHN.

I don't know. Put me on that fuck this clue list someone had going a few pages back. All I can think about is last year when the answers turned out to be right in our face the whole time.

  2. King beat me to it (sorry, been scrubbing makeup brushes and tossing out blood soaked baby wipes since Monday), that's what I saw, honestly it was the look on Kings face when the two SAs yelled TTT at her as I was walking maybe 10 feet ahead/towards her when it happened.

Apparently something else went down in mask a raid, I don't have full details, I only caught the tail end, hence why I didn't tell the story yet.

  3. So I have this weird idea of there being an original maze next year based off of the Chupacabra and I think it could work!

    Reasons why it could work:

1)AvP and AWiL have now gone down as best 2 HHNH mazes ever, and they could redo the AWIL werewolves to be chupacabras (dog-like evil creatures, kinda like werewolves)

2)Mexican themed maze appeals to demographic

    3) Chupacabra is a fairly well known mexican myth

It's not gonna happen, they've already done two Hispanic legends and both kinda flopped IMO. While it might appeal to the demogrhic of LA, I just don't see it happening.

And as far as I'm concerned with 2015, Trick r Treat better be in there, and dear god, NO MORE WALKING DEAD! Bring TT back to it's old days of awesome with one single "storyline" that tied a bunch of themes/characters at the event together (I.e. Scream/Stab, Chucky, back in 07 with The Director).

  4. Dude, I love watching the burned walker work on the street in front of Animal Actors. After Tram lets out, I'm usually sitting at the tables behind Pinks and you guys crack me up.

This is also one of the highlights of my night, I'll go on my break and since we don't have our auctioneer anymore, it's now become a place I literally stay for my whole break.

As of right now, standing in line for TWD, it feels bittersweet that tonight is it, crazy to think three months ago people were finding out about casting, mazes were released, etc etc and also, driving to preview night on September 16 at 215pm: 112 degrees out, driving to my final night of HHN tonight, Nov 2 at 3:00pm: 67 degrees, HUGE difference. I'll be wondering the park all night and hanging around for final TT and Chaseout. Good luck to everyone going tonight, congrats to those who survived, let's bring on 2015!

  5. I'm just saying ... THE THING made my day/night/whatever.

Also, allow me to get :( while I sit in the parking lot one last time before going to scare base, congrats to everyone for making it through, Sticking with it, giving it 150% even when you wanted to call out, and most of all, thanks for always being such awesome and hilarious entertainment for me (and many others) while on break and watching everyone work. Good luck tonight everyone, I'll be there enjoying it just as much as preview night.

  6. Anyone think they'll actually apply a legitimate age restriction for next year? I hope so. Though, that thought makes me a little sad for those under 17-18 that actually enjoy these types of events and do not create unnecessary shenanigans.

Some friends and I were talking about this while on break last night and walking through The Purge SZ (and how awfully dead it felt), IF they put an age restriction on the event, which they should, to make it "fair" because you know people will complain "well my child handles scary stuff blah blah blah", I suggested okay, fine, card every single human being that enters the event, those who are 17+ are good to go, those who are under 17 will get an X marked on their hand and allowed to ONLY go through 2-3 mazes that are "age appropriate" so basically, what HHN has now, nothing like *honks horn* boring, and that is it, that's completely fair, worth the ticket price, and less issues, and IF you're under 17, you must have an adult with you. Regardless if you're a "mature 14 year old" or not, you can thanks those little Tweens and their moms for ruining this event for you and that's all there is to it.

  7. random question, but for those who work at the event, do sundays usually sell out

Usually only the final two weekends do, the first 4 didn't until about an hour or so into the event from what I heard, and past working experiences, last year and the year before, the final two weekends usually sell out as quickly as the first with the final Sunday being a bit of a toss up as most of the time it's post halloween and just the die hard HHN fans going for a final farewell.

  8. It's called being "Politically Correct". Universal needs to stand up here.

Couldn't agree more, I feel they've totally dropped the ball on this, I know taking care of their employees isn't top of their list but this was just, huge ball kicker on their end. All I can say is the parents are the only reason this is all happening, the girls pretty much admitted they only took action because their parents said so, clearly they shouldn't be in the park in the first place if mommy and daddy have to hold your hand and have therapy sessions with you afterwards. *punches wall* but while we're on the topic of "OMG my poor child was ruined!" crap, let's just remove the go-gos, scantily clad ladies on the lower lot and in FDtD while we're at it, if "whore" offends those parents and taints the poor widdle innocent children, I'm sure they're super stoked on the idea of women in little bikinis shaking their rears and getting down to some "not age appropriate" music.

I'm there every night working and just spend my breaks wondering the park taking photos and video and going through mazes.

As for tonight, it's so BORING without the barker, I knew it would be, there's a sad, quiet fog looming over The Purge SZ tonight, my breaks have been so boring. Ugh. So it goes I guess.

/end rant on this topic for me.

  9. LOL! Sounds like Brett.

It was! I asked last weekend and he fessed. I wish I'd gotten it on tape. Good luck to everyone and just wanted to say how insane the ride has been watching everyone through auditions, scare academy, the event and now we're in the home stretch, I've enjoyed meeting those of you I've gotten to so far on the nights I've been working and hopefully I'll be meeting the rest of you before next Sunday. HANG IN THERE GUYS, and keep killing them!

  10. FTFY.

*head wall* doh! That's right, I mean, duh!

Honestly, this may be the last year I attend let alone work HHN if things like this keep happening, a very good friend of mine was one if the purge barkers and tonight just isn't the same without her. HHN come on! Grow some balls bad speak up for your employees, there's signage posted EVERYWHERE I just don't get how this crap holds up.

  11. On the topic of the stupid lawsuit, I think it's just Americans being Americans. "Hmm... what can I sue for today?" Bitch don't go to the event if you're easily offended. That would be like going to a comedy show and suing because it was too funny.

Oh, and this bit is just golden.

She also said that absent the latter, the park should post the following sign: "Parents beware. Your daughter is about to enter Universal Studios for Halloween Horror Night. While on our property your daughter, who may be as young as 13 years old, may be called a 'slut,' a 'whore' or a 'hooker' by Universal employees. Proceed at your own risk."

Guess what? They do warn you. There are signs. Everywhere. Maybe you should learn to read you illiterate cunt.

Clearly only the mothers were offended, if you read the girls statements they seem very insincere.

"I was embarrassed because many people were watching and listening and I worried that they might be thinking that I really was what she said that I was,"

Yeah right, some random lady is omniscient and just KNOWS you sell your ass for money. Not one person in the audience thinks a 13 year old is a slut based off what a theme park employee thinks.

And the other girls statement sums up the whole problem here:

"When my mother complained, something should have been done."

The mother "cared", the daughters didn't.

Sounds to me that someone's just trying to make a quick buck off of their own stupidity.

Sometimes I wish the Purge were real.

    Rant over.

My FAVORITE part of seeing this all over the news this morning was the part where one the the little twerps said "a lot of people from our school were there and heard it and I'm scared they'll spread rumors" or something to that affect, to which I yelled "WHY DID YOU BRING IT TO THE MEDIA!?" Idiots.

I was there and in that crowd of people when the event happened, good lord, her and her little friends hear worse watching Teen Mom I'm sure.

  12. I just look at her review as her complaining because 1) she either went to park management age they shrugged it off but humored her with a complaint form, or 2) no one will help her through this terrible time in real life so she's gotta let the inter webs know via every social outlet possible! Someone needs a banner and block of cheese to go with that whine.

  13. Had probably the worst day I've ever had at HHN (Aren't I just full of complaints? I wish I wasn't), and long story short. I am now in pool. See you everywhere.

    Uh oh ...

On the note of last night, there was something in the water because man, EVERY half an hour (it sure felt like that often at least) someone was getting hurt/passing out/getting in trouble/switching spots/needing medics, it was just ... a crazy, weird one, even the crowd were a little weird.

  14. How much did it cost you to get home? Were the multipliers in effect?

I live 10 minutes down lankershim from Universal, and I met the lyft driver at the bottom of the hill across from the metro station (I stated on the universal side, but the metro was right across from me). I think with tip it cost me about $13-15 which to be honest, seemed a bit pricey but it was Friday night and prime time for drivers to be picking folks up. If I'm in a bund, I'd take uber/lyft again both companies have "first ride free" specials so check those out too!

I would DEFINITELY have a talk with him before going, I have seen several disabled guests at HHN, all types of disabilities, and while the visual ones (I believe opening weekend there was a gentlemen with Down's syndrome sitting outside HoH during opening scaremonies and for the most part the SAs left him alone as far as HARDCORE scaring, in fact, the polite leader SA came up and shook his hand and talked to him" but I'd talk with your friend and just keep close eyes on him/SAs, as PTSD isn't something you can "see" so wouldn't want ANYONE to have a bummed time (you, your friend or the SAs who scare him bad he loses it on them). I'd just be careful, I think he'll be fine, there are definitely ways to navigate through mazes and SZs without being bothered and everyone can have a great time.

  15. I plan to go with a group of HHN peeps this Thursday to Knott's Scary Farm. I missed Dark Harbor last week :/ haha it does sound better that auditions are less than a year away. I do hope I get cast next year :) Oh, and the party is another thing to look forward to! First timer :D Last year I couldn't go, but this year I can't wait! Getting my costume soon in the mail.

Oh man the party is such a blast! I almost forgot about that (and I just talked about it YESTERDAY with someone.

I mean, this year there were lots of specific roles to cast, I agree (and several SAs here and at the event I've talked to) aren't too happy about how the whole "you can only audition once" thing but then having pick up auditions when people are still waiting for an email of some kind, it just wasn't the best process this year, there's always next year and looking forward to no TWD on TT (please god I hope)

  16. I didn't think last night 10/5 warranted time updates because it was ABSOLUTELY DEAD throughout the entire park after 11pm, even prior to that, the longest wait time was AvP around 8-830pm. By 11pm you could walk right into everything (and I did.)

How did the Backlot-Upperlot-Lowerlot compared to the Backlot-Lowerlot-Upperlot plan?

Last night was going to be the night I tried that out but it was so dead that honestly, I'm just gonna try it on Friday when it's busy.

I don't even know if you can, every night so far (including last night even though it was a ghost town), has sold out so there hasn't been options to upgrade to FOL, I'm assuming probably around 40-70 depending on what night you're going (same as a regular FOL purchased at main gate or online) I'll try to look when I drop in today to pick up some stuff.

  17. Yeah, I went to Metro sets after tram let out and there was literally no one there. Walked onto TWD and AVP and had the entirety of both houses to myself. It was crazy.

A lot of people work in there.

I was looking for you all night too! My group ditched out at 1130, I obviously stuck around for Chaseout, walked right into everything, no problems at all.

Yeah, kinda figured a lot did, I just felt bad because he got my attention and kept trying to ask for something and I kept getting ushered by the "usher/blackout with sticks" to keep moving so I barely heard what he said, it was around 930-45 though just because I got off tram back at loading/unloading at 9:54.

  18. Yes, I was. Today is the first day I've skipped a day at HHN ever. =\

:( well, if you were gonna skip a day, you picked a good one because the park was dead zone 101, you could tell by about 10-1030ish, SAs were bored and tired (the heat was TERRIBLE until about 830 when a breeze rolled through tram and lower lot and eventually made it up top).

Also, for those on TT, does anyone know who works that final cabin/mini house you walk through just before getting to chainsaws at exit? He was trying to get my attention and did, but for the life of me, I have no idea who it was. I may ask the FB page but I was just curious as I don't know anyone on TT (and haven't done any of the makeup for TT).

  19. Little side note about tonight, it being the first Sunday of the event, even with early entry, my group and myself got through EVETY. SINGLE. MAZE. plus multiple SZ walkthroughs, and standing to watch the auctioneer for a good 45-60 min, by 11pm! It's chainsaw chaseout right now (take end) and I haven't seen the park this ... dead, since last year. I think the longest wait time I saw for anything was a 60 min for AVP around 8/9pm ish. And props to those SAs who brought it ALL NIGHT LONG, especially in the heat earlier in the day/night.

  20. I'll be there tonight as a guest, I'll be wearing my HHN 2012 shirt, I cut the shirt so it's off the shoulders, my docs or some form of black boots, I've fit tattoos, long black hair had always wear my "Manson" contact lenses when I'm visiting. I'll be there around 530 and popping into the early access line. If you see me, say hi! I'll be there solo and exploring.

  21. I was starting to wonder if I was the only one who hated Clowns that much.

I hate Clowns, I haven't been a fan of any of their 3D/music mazes minus the first year they did House of 1000 Corpses. I just, no. Stop it. It feels like you're walking through a fun house at a carnival, only worse because the carnival is at least fun, and honestly, it's scarier to walk through the carnival fun house than Clowns at HHN.

Also, I'll be at the event, solo and as an actual guest tonight! I'll have my HHN 2012 shirt on (I cut the shirt so it hangs off the shoulders), my docs or some kind of black boots, I've always got my "Manson" contact lenses in when I'm visiting HHN as a guest too. If you see me, say hi! I'll be there by 530 and popping into early entry line.

  22. The whole "no cuts" thing is also being based off how quickly(or not so quickly) you get through the line. They clicker/eyeball the amount of people ahead of you before you're given a ticket, so while it's a rough estimate on very busy nights, it's a good one once they factor in the possibility of a group of ten meeting up with the one person holding their spot in line, and likewise, the several groups of 1-3 folks that chicken out or get out of line before getting to the front. So it IS a way to keep an eye on cutting, but also get a guesstimate on wait times.

Dud they give you anything after you returned the card? Other parks (not so much haunts, although I believe I've seen knotts do it during scary farm), but theme parks in general or card wait times, usually give the person who held the marker for them, a little something extra (disneyland gives a free fol pass to any ride).
