  1. It's interesting because I think all studios are thinking zombies are on their way out now and are scrambling to be the company that will produce the next big wave.

I think with new TCM, Halloween, F13, and Nightmare films (along with other films like 31, and others) there is a slim chance of slashers making a come back. Demons/spirits/entities will never grow old (although they're becoming nearly as saturated as zombies now-adays.) Witchcraft seems to be steadily rising, as well as monsters. I'd put my money on a kind of  flux for the next few years with possibly slashers taking the reigns first off, but then others quickly coming in and taking over.

I wouldn't mind more films like Babadook and It Follows becoming more popular. I like slow burn horror, when it's done correctly with nice pace and a good payoff.

  2. Bobby Weiner, the owner of the name and aesthetics of Bloody Mary has the licensing rights on the market currently, last time I heard. If that is true, then there's a possibility of seeing Bloody Mary again at the event.

God I hope so. I mean, obvs I want to see them all but BM is one that I actually really miss

  3. Not to beat a dead horse but my two cents:

I'm fine with the reveal in general and am no less excited for this year. Like many others I've pretty much accepted that the creative style of pre-HHNX is pretty much gone and will only be seen as glimpses from now on.

Literally my biggest complaint is the website. And not the fact that it's not interactive- we all expected that and knew that that wouldn't happen. Lavish websites for HHN died when the creativity/marketing changed (once again, something we all realize.) But this is by far the most disappointing HHN website to date. It's bland, no unique graphics at all, no music or sounds... I mean it is the bare minimum. I mean, Jesus- the Singapore site kicks our ass! Even the Hollywood site has a better layout, I feel, compared to the Orlando one (even though theirs is fairly bland as well.)

  4. I'm a little surprised they would drop the ball like this on the 25th anniversary. I can't wait to see what the replacement is going to be.

While I guess at this point it's all a matter of opinion, I don't personally feel like Uni has dropped the ball. To me it'd be a "dropped ball" only if this issue isn't addressed (I.E if this is all true and they end up not having the 9th house, although I can't imagine the pressure they're feeling.) To me Mike, and everyone else involved has displayed incredible poise and resilience. From the sounds of it they are trying to work through the problem (whatever it is) and it's all happening fairly quietly- of which I am really astounded, considering info concerning HHN is often known for having leaky piping....

That could be a fine example of what happens when you get greedy with to many IP's. Just my opinion. Of corse that is all speculation and nothing is confirmed. However like those said before me what Badge said seems very believable as a scenario.

I feel like it's less because of them being greedy wanting to use too many IPs but the IPs/IP holders themselves being greedy.
  5. Holy cow! I go away for half a day and the forum explodes.

That's exactly how I feel, haha.

I've finally caught up on all of the hubub and I (like others) feel pretty torn. Not necessarily on the prospect of SCREAM being replaced/scrapped but because I can't image the headache that some people at Uni/A&D are experiencing right now. In entertainment last minute changes happen all the time, but it doesn't make it suck any less. And this is a major change. While, if the change does happen, I'll be super excited to see what they pull off and I do admit... all of this news has me excited and anxious (at the expense of poor A&D.) If it doesn't happen though I'll be happy as well, I'm sure.

  6. Tad random, but with all the recent hub-ub of The Green Inferno being released (and Universal being the ones to release it) I'm really hoping that it's capitalized in some respect this year. I mean... obviously it probably wont be a house, since we have a good idea of what we're getting. But a scarezone would be pretty effective.

  7. ^ I honestly think that is the only way they can go with it. Not only does last season not offer up a lot in terms of house potential, but they can also spin a Fear The Walking Dead as "new" in a way, I guess. Plus, I'm sure it really will have some new-ish scenarios we haven't seen ( at least in WD houses past.) On top of all of that... it's free publicity for the new show.

  8. Were you trying for the Annual Passholder discounted ones though? That's where the problem lies I think. The log in kept me going in circles. I realize I have plenty of time to get this. I am just a little OCD when it comes to this event. I plan WAY ahead.

No I wasn't, sorry. I totes understand those OCD feels though- especially since, like you, I live so far away. I want to make sure everything is good to go way ahead of time.

  9. Back to HHN 25 discussion.. have any of you tried to buy FFP+ yet? When I go to the site, and I click on FFP+ with Express, it asks me to login with my AP number. So, I put in my info, and I click login, and it reroutes me to the main Universal Orlando page. There is nothing there about buying HHN tix, so I click on events and HHN, and then it brings me back to the HHN where it asks me to log in again. WTF Anybody else having this issue?

I purchased my RoF tickets the second day they were available without any problems. <.<

  10. Yep. I can't confirm, it's just my hunch. The puppeteer is bent at the waist which forces the somewhat stilted walking. They also keep raising the raptor's head in a way that allows them to straighten their back and relax. Their other hand is, likely, how they control the different sounds.

Unless the raptor is a puppet with rods their legs and puppeteer rolls around on their back underneath it. But the Big Bird method is really the most logical method.

You're correct. It's basically a puppet suit, much like those in Walking with Dinosaurs Live. It's a pretty popular way of making cool looking dinosaur costumes right now.

  11. I def didn't get the "rocker" Jack vibe at all from the video. I mean, I can understand why some would think that, but it's not like rock music has never been used with Jack's character before. I mean... with the CoC show, that's how his theme was played during his entrance. That's what it reminded me of.
