  1. After reading through the previous posts, I agree with beginning with a clean slate since we were promised "a new age of darkness". Although I've only attended HHN since 2005, I will admit there have been houses which I've grown to love and others I've grown to become tired of. I can't see them bringing back any of the icons anytime in the near future however referencing them throughout this new era is still a possibility.

I really enjoy seeing the creative team's new ideas every year, but I am not totally against seeing previously used themes being brought back as long as there is a "new spin" placed on the original story. Whether or not any of these return this year or in the coming years, sooner or later I would really enjoy seeing new versions of:

    SOONER

Midway of the Bizarre/Fearhouse - if Amity has been deemed to be too much of a cluster to use for a scarezone ever again, maybe they could re-create this atmosphere in one of the Soundstages.

Hellgate Prison - A realistic prison without any "ghosts" is truly scary. Warden Strickland MUST come back for the sequel.

S.S. Frightanic - Cruise Ship extravagance and also claustrophobic hallways well below the "sun deck".

The Thing - Such a great concept house back in '07. I'd love to see a re-imagining get the proper Soundstage treatment.

Ghost Town - So much potential for expanding on this theme....

Dead Exposure - Continue with the zombie theme and keep the ultra-high anxiety feel of the house.

Field of Screams/Harvest of the Souls/The Hallow/Skool - A mixture of these Halloween themes would be perfect. Also, bring back the corn from FoS and pray for good weather. :)

Hades/mythology - Many ways they could go with other variations based on mythology.

Saws 'N Steam/steampunk city - Lots of opportunity to expand here.

    LATER

Hell's High/Lights, Camera, Hacktion - A Film Production gone wrong theme. Also could be combined with....

More from The Director - He never had a house that focused on the films that he actually directed. Keep the real-life movie references out and design a house based solely on his own snuff film-making.

Movie Icons - Jason, Freddy, Leatherface, Hannibal Lecter, Michael Myers, Wolfman, Frankenstein etc. all have their place at haunted events. Just use them sparingly....

Castle Vampyr/Dracula - Keep with the medieval theme, stick with a castle and build the story from there, no raving vampires with glow sticks please. Do not stray very far from the original Vampyr castle vibe.

Toy Hell/Chucky/Dead Silence - A new house using the evil toy/puppets theme would be ok in my book.

Screamhouse - A new Victorian style house featuring the Caretaker/Cindy. This one is more of a personal wish as I never got to experience the original Screamhouse.

Scary Tales IV - Yes, I hope sometime in the future we will see a return of the Evil Fairy Tales.

Everything you've added in this list, I couldn't agree more with. There are some extremely good ideas listed!

I agree that Sting Ally would eventually make a great spot for Leave it to Cleaver to return. With all the little, quaint store fronts, you could really take the dark humor of that house and turn the scare zone into a whole interactive street full of merchants and commerce.

"With a steady livestock of transients and town lawbreakers with which to serve, and a staff of volunteers who will preserve their town's deadly secret by any means necessary, there is truly no end in sight for Samuel or his family business."

picturing Leave It To Cleaver in Sting Alley rather than a house sounds extremely promising. I agree that the potential is limitless if done correctly. :)

Overall, while I'd love to see some things return, I think for the time being we should let the past rest and place our trust that the Creative team will amaze us with new, innovative ideas. :)

  2. Yes I agree the Bill and Ted show was amazing that year but then again, I've enjoyed every year since I've been attending so since 2005. I loved the houses though in Sweet 16. I remember this year better than 2005 because even though I was young, I still had an amazing time :). I would personally say that my favorite house was either All Nite Die In or Screamhouse...I love the icons <3.

  3. Time flies. One month is HHN :D. Update was great last night. Classes seem to be moving wonderfully. For the first time in a while, I'm having a really good day. Yes it's still the morning but I'm just not letting crap get me down today :). Off to my second class hoping I have the right textbook *crosses fingers*

  4. lol Jason I agree Florida heat has just been beyond ridiculous lately!

Well I'm feeling better finally and I think I can officially diagnose what I was sick with... Salmonella poisoning. Apparently, (I saw a huge thing on Yahoo News this morning) there has been a major recall with a lot of egg brands and the morning I got sick, I ate an egg mcmuffin at McDonalds then got really sick by noon that day. I can't honestly say that it was that but I had every symptom of Salmonella poisoning so we are saying that it is probably that. But whatever it was, I'm almost 100% recovered from :).

  5. Again Happy Birthday Andrew!! :D

Well now it's time for my wonderful ramble...I'm sicker than hell right now but at least I'm starting to recover. I took care of my baby cousin the other day and he was super sick and I think he may have passed it to me. But like I said thankfully I'm beginning to recover and I'm keeping the tiny slice of bread that I ate this morning down in my system...

In one week from today, I officially begin my first day of UCF and I gotta say I'm super nervous because it will be such a HUGE change from my tiny tiny private high school... So in that sense I'm nervous but it's a new challenge that I'm looking forward to. :).

  6. Haven't been posting a lot simply because I've been handling a lot lately. But I'm back now that I got everything resolved somewhat still in trouble but it'll blow over with time right?

and as for what jumboshrmp said, I've noticed the boldness too and was curious about it hrmm.

  7. When thinking about HHN and not just last year's event but every year that I attended, I usually remember things from Bill and Ted the most... I remember the parodies and the MJ tribute last year, the songs, dances, etc. Aside from Bill and Ted, I remember the different haunted houses (especially the ones based off movies). I remember walking into Silver Screams and always smelling popcorn or seeing the phantom of the opera playing on the movie screen as the Usher jumped out and scared me.

Whenever someone around me uses a chainsaw or a leaf blower, I still jump and get scared thinking of the Chainsaw Drill Team but then I realize I'm not at HHN.

Back in 2007, I remember the one house, Dead Silence: The Curse of Mary Shaw. I'm absolutely terrified of ventriloquist dummies and so that house was always the scariest to me that year. So everytime I hear the theme song from Dead Silence (my friend loves the theme song), I think of that house.

Even though I can tie most things in with HHN, I will cap my little nostalgia-ish response haha.

  8. So maybe I post on this thread a little too much but meh space to think plus I love reading what others are up to and stuff. :)

So basically alot has been on my mind lately and I can tell it's getting to me but I just there's no way to really escape from it. I got my highlights yesterday though <3. my hair just looks lighter is really the huge difference.

  9. Well to the posts above about the Shady Brook Farms meat, I agree with Matt. I doubt that's turkey xD.. Now onto my own random thoughts.

I guess this is a space where I can think a little bit... So much has happened these past few days. Drama with friends, family, and myself. I've made some bad choices lately and I know that I'm going to fix myself and fix the damage I've done. Right now I'm just hoping my friend makes it out of the hospital and he survives.. He has very serious wounds and he woke up this morning for a little bit from what my friend is texting me but that still doesn't stop the fact I'm worried sick about him. So let's just hope he's okay.

and to everyone out there having problems whether trivial or huge, I hope that everything gets better for you.

  10. Well I'm supposed to be working on my AP english lit/comp classwork right now but I'm looking out of my window and watching the dark clouds roll in. I have successfully finished enrolling in my UCF classes for the fall which is a huge relief. These past few days seem to be getting better like finally everything is getting better and it feels so nice to just be happy and not be smothered under bad or stressful things anymore. <3.

  11. Well I haven't been posting on here as much which that's a lack of time management on my part. Lot of stuff has happened lately and I'm finally glad that everything seems to start mellowing out. Still have that stupid headache though :(
