  1. Going in all alone can be alot of fun, especially if you want to go into the houses and enjoy the details of the houses (i do this everytime i go through the houses more than once) and you can just appreciate the entire event more without worrying about someone holding onto your arm in fear, have fun, HHN is like nothing else

MMAfreak's right. The other thing about going alone is that you can enjoy things at your own pace as well as choosing to have a "Mega Man-esque" plan (in other words, choosing your own sequence of houses). Another good thing is that you can feel good about enjoying HHN without having to deal with a group member judging you for your choices.

One hint though: If you want to have plenty of time to check out the scarezones and houses without rushing, make sure you enjoy the rides which are available for HHN during the day, because that way, you can focus more on the necessary elements.

  2. Love the silver HHNXX, looks very nice. Clearly they're going for the "what does FEAR look like? Come to the event to find out!" marketing approach... let's hope they can deliver...!

I'm interested to see what the Burger King Cups look like. Would it be wise to put FEAR's grimy jaws on the cup of the drink you were about to enjoy?

i probably would think BK would be using the lantern. after that 2007 fiasco with that woman who wanted BK to get rid of their tray liners featuring Freddy, Jason and Leatherface. i'm sure they'll try not to take a gamble showing Fear's teeth.

  3. ok, i have plenty of things which grind my gears @ HHN.

To start, the moronic parents who bring their small children into the park thinking, it's some sort of like a "slightly scary halloween party", but the reality is that this is beyond the fear which is seen in many Disney movies, this is universal meaning that it is bound to be a bit between PG-13 and R. and if you're not careful about bringing them and using common discretion, don't be surprised if you have to spend your savings on therapy bills after your kids end up traumatized due to the blood and gore in HHN.

Second thing are smokers. Not only does it annoy others, but on a blustery day, a puff of smoke can sour everyone else's experience.

The final thing is anything that lights up. Not only does it blind others including scareactors (especially during the day when it leads for a house to be pitch black), but it kills the surprise element. that's why i never bring anything that lights up (including my mouse ears which i often wear for mardi gras)

  4. a tip should you choose to stay all the way until 2 (as Oct 8 is a friday) in the morning, be sure to bring at least 2 or 3 energy drinks with you. these will keep you going especially if you intend to be at the parks during the day. another tip is that if you want to be a scareactor target, be sure you wear some bright colors, and if you have anything linked to a certain rodent with you, you will be targeted a lot.

  5. to be honest, i've only dealt with the metal detectors in 2003 and '05. however as tedious as it may sound. it is worth the extra money for obtaining them alone. and when you think about it with HHN taking place mostly in the dark, not to mention life in a post 9/11 world, anyone could be a potential threat, so it's best to say that the detectors aren't too much when it comes to security.

  6. I would like to hear more vuvuzelas at sporting events.

although many wouldn't consider wrestling as a sporting event, could you imagine the vuvuzuelas invade a WWE event? it would be hilarious if Vickie Guerrero were to keep shouting "EXCUSE ME!" despite being drowned out by both the booing and the vuvuzuelas.

  7. Just after I manage to completely disconnect myself from a "friend" who was trying to peer pressure me into rolling, I find out one of my close friends has done coke several times. Wtf. I need to have better judgement when it comes to friends...

I'm glad you chose to ditch them. anyone who thinks drugs will make things better, they're unfortunately wrong. It's like Freddy Krueger once said: "Drugs. Now there's a real nightmare". as for judgement, that's one of those things that you must learn to understand, because even the kindest of people have their dark secrets.

  8. In case anyone will be wondering, I probably won't post much if at all tomorrow. I'll be at Islands of Adventure all day. :)

i'm waiting until i renew my AP in time for my birthday. but i might not be able to ride HP if the line is too long (which i have a gut feeling which it will), and i'm not even sure if the ride has a single rider line.

  9. I've had such a life changing year. I found out I was pregnant in January, had to deal with mental abuse, child protective services, police, everything going downhill, but the recent turn around has been amazing. I'm doing extremely well in school, I got a brand new phone with a new number (msg me for it), I have an interview with Universal tomorrow, I got married May 10th and just moved in with him so I got out of my stressful anxiety full house! The future seems very promising, my mom is going to pay for my online classes, so hopefully that will be easier when the baby comes along (and I am due September 11th)!

I've been so sheltered, controlled and in fear for so long, it feels weird to be able to speak freely.

Brooke, i know we've had some rifts in the past, and after reading what you've gone through, i can understand what you feel. and although i try to keep my personal issues as private as possibe, i will have to admit, that I too had a rough start to the year as well. i had to deal with two deaths in the family, a health scare with an immediate member of the family, and even though those moments were devastating for me, i learned many life lessons as well. and at the start of may, things started to get better too. this saturday, i'll be celebrating 9 years working for Disney, along with my upcoming birthday. i even managed to achieve many goals i wanted to achieve. i know you'll have a great future, because like a certain scientist once said, "your future is what you make it, so make it a good one."

  10. for me, it's mostly to run into friends from the HHN fan community (some of which i run into other Universal events like Mardi Gras), as well as the thrill of getting plenty of scares including some 4th wall breaking scares (like the ones i had on HHN 17, 18, and 19), along with being a common target due to certain signature items (including a group of "pals" ;) ).

  11. went to the swap meet at the central florida fairgrounds and i ended up getting a Sega Master System (with 2 controllers, the light gun, and 7 games) for 50 bucks, and a blue game boy pocket for 10 bucks.

  12. I would also agree with a Halloween house. as long as it's based on the original John Carpenter formula instead of the Rob Zombie remakes, i'm ok with it. it worked in All Nite DrIvE In 2003, and just as how NOES and F13 ended up getting their own houses in HHN 17, it would be good if HHN20 gave Halloween a house of it's own. i would also enjoy it if any of George Romero's classics were to be immortalized as a HHN house (such as Night or Dawn of the Living Dead)

  13. i'm going to HHN on October 9 (i originally was slated to go on the 10th, but my work schedule was changed which makes it easier to go on friday)

    [Keycodes]

    M = Would like to Meet-up

S = Stay and Scream (Annual Pass or Parks during the day)

    D = Legal Drinking age

[Appearance All Points Bulletin for Horror Night Nightmare Members, HHNVaulters, and especially scareactors]

one of 3 HHN shirts from 2008

    blue Disney World hoodie

    black jeans

    blue/silver nikes

    blue backpack

    blue hip pack

my infamous signature Mickey Mouse Hat

    (eyewear)

during part of the daytime: my blue "half" shutter shades

for some houses, my 2007 Jack the clown Funhouse of Fear "3D" glasses

    [scareactor target probability increasers]

Pal Mickey 1.0 in army fatigues (in reference to the War of the Living Dead scarezone,) and a black headband (as a Solid Snake reference)

Pal Mickey 2.0 in ninja outfit (this outfit makes him "the shadow warrior")

Pal Mickey 3.0 in Sorcerer's Apprentice outfit (the outfit is somewhat a reference to Will the "Wizard Master" from Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors, and to some, it might be a satirical allusion to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter)

  14. i have a good one from last year (HHN 18). While going through doomsday for the first time, i ended up getting a couple of great scares (some of which broke the 4th wall), including a memorable encounter with one of DD's scareactors (that was in the scene with the gimp i believe) in which he "kidnapped" me by grabbing my Pal Mickey which was dangling from my backpack, and then taking me to the corner in that scene, and it was totally radical experience.

  15. ^^ Haha.

I don't watch South Park. Their voices drive me insane. >.< But I do love Tim and Eric's Awesome Show, Great Job. XD

i'm a fan of T&EASGJ too. i have the season 1 DVD which i bought last year at the recently closed Virgin Megastore

  16. My first HHN was in 2003. ever since, i've been going to HHN and i ended up having some first achievements for each year. here's the list:

    2003: First HHN attended

    2004: First Stay 'n Scream

2005: First solo trip to HHN

2006: First "Operation: Lone Mouse" Trip (the first time i attended while wearing a mickey mouse hat for the purpose of being a target for the scareactors)

2007: First HHN which involved attending all of the houses including one house being entered multiple times (i went to Vampyr: Blood Bath 5 times)

2008: First HHN to have all houses visited in 2 hours or less, first HHN which introduced Pal Mickey (again, this was to become a scareactor target), First HHN which involved purchasing all of the shirts, etc.
