If they have a cannibal themed mascarade they are definitely fallout fans.
-
is the alien house cancelled bearing in mind the last three reveals are IPs

A variation on the HHN eye has just been used to advertise the 1998 video game sanitarium on GOG.com, There is also a 2013 horror anthology called sanitarium starring Malcolm Mc Dowell.

Here's the complication:
The song in the fourth clue ISN'T an orchestral piece.
http://www.onlinesheetmusic.com/prelude-in-54-p287894.aspx
It's a guitar solo written by the jazz musician, Ivor Mairants. He also founded well-known music store in the UK. It's an obscure song, so its selection for the clue should matter... a lot.
Ivor Mairants was a composer on the Lavinder Hill Mob which was filmed in the same studio as the film inserts for the daleks episode of the classic series of doctor who and more recently for the David Tenant Episode the impossible planet and the Satan Pit.

Don't Disney own the rights to sleepy hollow on theme parks every Halloween they have the headless horsemen as part of their parade and the sleepy hollow haunted carriage ride in one of their hotels.
-
The Atari 2600 house is not going to be pacman as Disney own the rights

Pie throwers could also equal clowns.

Ok so im not that photo savvy but, isnt the first clue's picture the negative of the second clues picture. If so maybe thats a clue as well in a way.
The first picture is about money so it is clearly a reference to the admission fee the second picture is a negative picture of money. So it is saying that after you have been to Halloween Horror Nights, you will have negative money in your account

I know what you're referencing, but I think that dig might be a little too recent. I'm pretty sure that A&D had already begun writing before that was happening.
Might be worth speculating but I may have solved that already.
But the mass burial of ET cartridges is an Atari Legend prior to them being recovered.

Instead of referencing a video game, based on Atari 2600 lore could the atari 2600 code name be referencing a property set around something that is buried in the desert.
-
A shot heard around the world could be referencing a nuclear bomb. Further reinforced by the picture being negative used in film to represent the heat ray. That some have said have turned him mad could be a reference to radiation sickness.
Also George Washington= Washington DC a fallout 3 themed house?

While very wishful thinking a house based on Halloween season of the witch would be amazing.

Funny story: I watched the video on YouTube for the Alien score and an ad popped up for "Discounts to Universal Orlando". Could that ad have been prophetic?
Nope it is targetted.cookie based advertising.

Could it actually not be based on an Atari 2600 game but a film that used an atari 2600 to produce a sound effect.

OK OK
Here is a list of the Horror IPs I could find for Atari 2600
Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Halloween
Alien
Phantasam
Friday the 13th
Nightmare On Elm Street
Gremlins
.... and Ghostbusters 1 and 2 if you want to call that horror.
- and also Krull. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Krull_(film) to be niche enough.
- Edit and other speculation Centipede: The human centipede or tremors
- The first survival horror game called Haunted House.
- Stargate.
- Carnival ( American Horror Story Carnival?)
- Frankensteins Monster
- Mr Do: Published by universal.
- Halo was also made on the atari as a modern homebrew title(if going for misdirection)
-
virtually all Atari 2600 games had signature music. It is hard not to make your music signature when it has the same four beats on a loop because of limited memory.Because I'm bored and I want something to solve.
Here's a list of Atari 2600 games that have signature sounds (at least a list of ones I remember sounds from)
Pitfall
Qix
Q-bert
Adventure
Pong
Breakout
Yar's Revenge
I'll update this as I remember portions of my childhood.

Pfft, no. Dig dug wouldn't be intense enough.
Let me blow your mind.
What's the scariest game on the atari 2600?
Who's the internet reviewer who's too afraid to play it?
James Rolfe.
Who has a movie coming up where he does?
James Rolfe.
The prop master? More like "Captain N: The game master."
He's also had a review of ghost busters.
He's even had multiple requests to do it
Get ready folks, this year is gonna be a shit load of fuck.
I don't know beatem and eatem its sequel filly flasher as well as the politically correct custers revenge would be perfect for HHN

Murdy (Possibly Mike) scored a go ahead for a maze today
"He shoots He scores. Just locked another maze for HHN 2014. Yay! I think you guys will dig it! I know I dig it. Gonna be a hell of a year!:
Combine this quote with the Atari 2600 clue dig dug maze confirmed.

Hooray for crazy theory time!!!
Given that the second Dr. Jimmy post SEEMS to discount Alien, the first post is mostly a tease. If I take away all the Giger references and assume it is pointing towards an IP, I read it as Ghostbusters.
1. Geiger counter is what Egon uses to detect ghosts.
2. Beauty is only skin deep could be a reference to the ghost Gozer (the actress was a model) plus Gozer looked pretty but was entirely evil.
3. "Entirely different alien species" is referring to ghosts as alien in this sense just means foreign and the species is not at all related to outer space.
4. Ghosts are referred to as the undead, as are Strengoits. If we are refusing to accept the undead as being corporeal, he has referred us to another lifeforce which would be the soul. In pop culture, the soul is what people believe ghosts to be.
I will admit that this assumes Dr. Jimmy misspelled Geiger as Giger to mislead us, it assumes the house is an IP instead of just an inspired by an IP house, and it assumes that Dr. Jimmy is discounting Alien in his second post.
Gieger counters are not used in ghostbusters it is a P.K.E meter you are thinking about.

If it is gremlins, I cannot see it being the house, but the terror tram on the courthouse square backlot in Hollywood.

Let's be fair.
A LOT of the games for the atari 2600 looked terrible. I can also see what you're saying about a red herring. Perhaps one of us will get Alien. Some day.
I still have my doubts about the relevance of the tweets regarding Orlando's event.
Aliens looks bad for an Atari 2600 game, I just think iconic theme tune and ghostbusters seems too obvious.
-
Jesus that game looked terrible Xenophobe actually has more in common with alien than that game! The red herring is that everyone would assume the Atari 2600 game is ghostbusters which was a famous game for the Atari 2600.Forgetting that alien was also a Atari 2600 game and Xenophobe.

The freak out maze is Alien, The atari 2600 tweet has given it away. On the Atari 2600 there was a rip off of alien called Xenophobe.
-
Anyone reckon that this year there may be more of an attempt to appeal to the fans rather than the mainstream. While even attempting to underplay the popularity of HHN. My theory behind this is that HHN is already going to be popular/busy/at capacity this year as visitors use HHN to visit diagon alley. This means the creative team do not need to use houses to pull in the crowds giving more creative freedom.
