And the AHS pill was a bit easier to swallow this year since Coven wouldn't lend itself terribly well to a haunt. Certainly not as well as Asylum would have. Freak Show seems ripe for the plucking though... (fused together) fingers crossed.

I guess I'll go in the box then. Way disappointed in the inclusion of a meh horror show (FDTD) and the worst horror show this side of Season 8 of Dexter (TWD) over AHS. But I'm sure I'll still have fun at the event.

I'm not exactly thrilled over Dumb Gay Batman or TWD, I'm a hardcore AHS fan.
But I'm not "REALLY?" over anything this year like I was Alice Cooper, Black Sabbath and so on.

Dammit, its Dracula isn't it? Ugh. AVP is the only exciting maze to look forward to this year, imo.

Just watched the Ouija and Annabelle trailers...
Don't see much HHN material for either of them so far.
However, Annabelle was clearly just a teaser and there's probably way more.
I'm sticking with my guns and saying it's not happening until Conjuring 2, if at all.
That teaser sticks to like the first twenty minutes or so of the movie.

I'll add I've seen Annabelle, it doesn't really have a whole lot more fodder that lends itself to a maze.

Between Scream and AHS I really think Emma Roberts pissed off Murdy at some point.

I think someone mentioned TWD didn't see FDTD as competition, so kudos to whoever said that.
Now we gotta sit around, scratching our heads, wondering what shows are in competition with each other in the future
Or just Murdy doesn't find Ryan Murphy as interesting as Robert Rodriguez (I honestly would too, as much as I love AHS I feel like I'd find Murphy insufferable in person.) But still! We'll never get a scareactor playing Stevie Nicks now!

Horror Night Nightmares has become the evil twin of MiceChat. Lots of complaining and whining but into darker and scarier stuff (I know, I've done my fair share of rants too).
I used to be like that. But I'm at the point to where I just want to go with the flow and enjoy the event. I'm passed the fact that my pet horror franchises will probably never happen (Scream and American Horror Story) and I just hope to maybe be pleasantly surprised one day

Alright, possible carny trick here. I am not saying that this proves Halloween or The Purge, but it is worth considering.
There's wiggle room with what he said. The Purge has already been announced, as it was announced last year as a scarezone. Hence not being not already announced. The Purge was also announced since it has posters everywhere for it. It's coming out in July. Didn't you know that?

Going by my question Murdy just answered on twitter, no Purge maze this year.
@horrornights Have any other of the maze themes been seen before in other incarnations? (scare zones/terror tram)

@HorrorNights Wow. I'm shocked, no Purge maze then. I saw the sequel a few months ago and thought it would be a natural fit.

The actor who played Mr. Vargas in FTRH was Vincent Schiavelli who shares his name with Vincent D'Onofrio who played The Axeman in AHS Coven. One of Vincent Schiavelli credits is a film called American Pop.

It's on a street called Slauson a really good place to find beers you never tried.
BTW Voodoo Doughnut was quit good in my opinion.
I always go down Slauson to get to his place. I'll keep an eye out. What's it near?

It's a place called Ramirez Liquor in Pico Rivera they have a TON of hard to find beer I do know they have a sister store in East LA but the area is pretty sketchy other then that I have not seen them anywhere else the best place to try would be Bevmo
Hmmm. I think next time I go see my BF in Whittier I'm going to find this place.

So this game plan worked SUPER swell for us...
AVP
TWD
FDTD
(small potty break)
AWIL
Clowns
Terror Tram
Face Off
Dracula.
I need to go through the timings on everything but we were totally finished with everything by 11 at the latest. The only (marginally) substantial lines we waited in were TWD, Clowns. Terror Tram and Dracua. But maybe 30 minutes tops for each of those, and that's at the high end of the spectrum.
We took a super long relax break after Dracula and strolling through the scare zones. Like we probably just sat in the lower lot smoking section for a good hour just talking and we capped the night off with a run through with AWIL (Which I never scream in mazes, btw. I get started and gasp. But AWIL was one of the few times I let out a loud actual scream... but I'll write a review thread probably tomorrow.
