  1. South West? Doesn't that relate to this whole Route 66 spec? Its known for its SouthWestern atmosphere.

    Meh.

    What do I know,

You guys did so freakin' good this year on spec. that it might as well be a Sweet Factory Maze...

Eat all you want.... BUT FACE THE DENTIST AT THE END!

EDIT: sorry, I read early on when you guys were mentioning SW and I got too excited. Carry on, wise ones.

  2. Hoooooooooooly crap.

Minor Spoiler Alert for those who haven't seen Sharp's vid.

Idk about you guys, but Silent Hill and both Walking Dead sets look AMAZING. I was geeking out over the straitjack monster in SIlent Hill and getting pumped about Walking Dead, even though I'm freakin terrified of Zombies. Yeah, it was preview night and you can tell some things were just awkward (walkers don't bite each other or say "braiiiins") but goddamn it the sets for most of the mazes look amazing and kinda makes up for some awkward, but easily fixable mistakes on the scareactor's part.

So, Trevler, can't wait to see the epicness that is the Walking Dead terror tram. You'll recognize me as the guy puking on the sidelines, so take it easy on me.

So far I think SIlent Hill is gonna take the cake with Walking Dead or Alice second.

La Llorona looks awesome as well, so it might be a contender. Don't see why people are complaining about it (this is a cue for someone who isn't impressed to explain it to me, please). I love the new puppetry at the end. It looks like they're actually figuring out that the "above" scares that were in the older Orlando mazes can work at Hollywood too.

Ahhhh too much epicness for me. I'm going on the 14th-ish so I gotta wait :(

  3. Hard to tell honestly. Murdy did mention that they installed some crazy effects. Who knows, he might have switched some of the crazy lights from Alice and put them in La Llorona instead. He did say that he sometimes swaps some of their lighting effects with the company they buy the lights from to get the higher quality ones. It would make sense to just swap those lights between mazes instead if you don't want to get rid of them.

  4. Wow, that video was awesome, but to me it showed how better the Hollywood ver. looks than the Orlando one. Characters didn't look right and it looks like they gave up on creating the SIlent Hill atmosphere after the first two scenes. Honestly, it looked like a Queen Mary haunt as opposed to Silent Hill, which is kinda troubling. I've only seen pics of the Hollywood ver. of Silent Hill and it looks pretty dope. Pictures got me geeking out, the vid of orlando just kinda made me pity them a bit. Still, looks like they do have some little things here and there that were cool (like the locker hall).

  5. http://www.shocktillyoudrop.com/news/169713-photo-gallery-a-video-halloween-horror-nights-2012-make-up-preview

^Has anyone seen that? Sorry guys, I was going to put the individual pictures up instead of the link but was too lazy to figure it out. Annnnd if someone already posted it somewhere else I was too lazy to look through all of the topics to see. But yeah, this is from Shock Till You Drop and they pretty much go through all of the houses and sz's. Plus, did anyone else notice the Chucky in one of the pics? Is this a comeback?!

  6. Idk why but this doesn't spark any interest in me. I liked the original and all but eh I'm getting a F13 rehash vibe, sort of what like Freak said. Then again, I really like how they pull of those outdoor scenes inside the mazes. They always seem more interesting than those indoor scenes. Anyway, from the looks of it, this maze seems like its a mixture of both outdoor and indoor scenes, but I'm really hoping they go more with the outdoor scares.

  7. @Trevler Ah, then my mistake. Haha then I guess I'm the one that looks like the idiot.

Yeah, I have this feeling like the scarezones are going to be lame this year. I think Murdy said Klownz was coming back and idk it never really interested me. Freakz, on the other hand, had all these weird animal-man hybrids or mutants and those were pretty cool. Klownz are just, well, clowns with weapons. Plus we're losing Western street so we only have 4 this year (second time in a row right?). Point is, I'm not expecting much. Quick question: Why don't they add a scarezone close to where La Llorona/Terror Tram is at? That place looks like it has a good strip that can work as a scarezone.

  8. WTF! I hate Hollywood so much right now. *makes angry eyes, puffs lips and crosses arms angrily like an 8 year old*

OHH, OHH! And don't forget, Best Whorehouse in Texas is also the house in House of 1000 Corpses, which is the same basic plot of TCM! Nail on the head. And welcome, new friend.

Nice, I liked how you choose to pick on basically this group's own Quigley speculation AND the one connection that was admittedly the weakest link. Now that it's pretty much looking like its TCM, someone here really IS looking like a little whiny/angry 8 year old. Thanks for the warm welcome friend.

  9. ^^^ The kids weren't getting scared, though. They were just yelling fuck. o.o In an exit line...

^^ Industrial-type music would've been better than dubstep, but I think they're only using electronic in the maze.\

^ Even if it is Burt Reynolds, it's still TCM. :P Doesn't make a difference how you get to it.

    From Murdy:

"Q) Dubstep? A) Well I'd Call it "Darkcore" Horror-Inspired electronica soundtrack for the attraction. Not exactly 'Monster Mash'"

I just listened to Darkcore on youtube and a lot of it does have industrial background to it. Still, it does have that annoying as hell dubstep overlay to it. And I couldn't stop laughing cuz it really reminded me of what somebody here said (Wesker, I think?) about it sounding like two transformers getting it on. It really sounded like some heavy transformer thrusting going on there. Anyway, I'm just being optimistic about what it could be. My point was that it could use the elements really well or it just won't and the way you see that is up to your own disposition I guess.

And lol, yeah, true but I feel like that solidified it more than it just being Clint Eastwood because his son is in the remake, don't ya think? Goes more along the lines with what Murdy hinted at.

  10. Fuck, finally. I made my account 3 days ago and, after waiting (albeit all desperate), I'm allowed to post. Gotta admit, it feels good. Anyway, I've actually been stalking you guys for like, 3 years now, ever since 2009 (my first HHN/theme park haunt). You guys are pretty good at guessing and I remember wanting to steal your guys' evidence for La Llorona being a maze last year (to win that exclusive behind-the-scenes tour) but felt it was too much of a sleazebag move to do so, so I didn't.

Ok, ok on to the REAL discussion/speculation. After reading your guys' reasoning for TCM coming, I feel like you guys really hit the nail on the head (from what we have anyway). I actually really don't want TCM to come back or any type of "famous slasher" icon to reappear for that matter but, I have to say, it's really pointing there. Looked up stuff about Burt Reynolds, as you guys seem to overlook that mustachioed loon. Some of his movies/roles really point to TCM. If you look at his filmography on Wikipedia there are at least 3 that can be linked to TCM. 1.) One role that he is most famous for is in the movie Deliverance, which is essentially a TCM prototype. In this movie, he's a traveler in a remote part of Southern U.S and him and his buddies are escaping some twisted inbred hillbillies. 2.) He came out in a movie called Best Whorehouse in Texas (I admit, this one is a loose connection, but, hey, gimme a break). 3.) and the most damning of all is a movie he came out called Hooper, where he plays a character named Sonny Hooper. Eh, so whaddya think?

And by the way, I'm on the line about HoH. On one hand, I never go to the HoH mazes because they're always just rehashes of the place during the day just with a different concentration of monsters (i.e. vampires, wolfmen, etc.). Yet this gets me curious enough to go. It might be good or it might just be obnoxious, its hard to tell and, honestly, you can't judge that by the music. Dubstep may not be the top choice for a maze (for the record, I'm not a fan) but I feel that industrial-typish music can be there. A lot of videogame music that is trying to make a "creepy" atmoshpere uses industrial backgrounds. For example, the first Fallout games used pretty much scraping windmill-like noises or like vents being bumped with a very soft and easy to miss melody in the background. I think a lot of games do that and I feel like, if pulled right, it could come off as unsettling (maybe not holy-fuck that was scary, but a good horror atmosphere). Lastly, if they take the campy part, then we can expect over-the-top gore like Evil Dead or Dawn of the Dead. Idk, it could be good or it could be very echhh. Point is, its hard to tell. The name is pretty damn stupid though.

    End overly-long first post.
