  1. "The second maze code name is "The Name Game" Something about 3 people's careers hints to the name of this maze. 1) a famous boy band member. 2) A cast member of a famous NBC sitcom that debuted in the 1990's and 3) a famous make up artist. Now time for another hint on this one...The sitcom in question was an "ensemble" cast. Meaning there was multiple stars...not just one...something about HIS career...This maze is also new, in that it has never been featured at HHN. Its been a tough one to design...some complicated effects...more to come."

I think this maze could be Universal classic monsters. Joey Fatone of boyband 'N Sync played "Wolfie" at Beetlejuice at USO as a kid. MAtt LeBlanc who played Joey on NBC sitcom Friends guest starred in an episode of 'Monsters' entitled 'Shave and a Haircut, Two Bites' featuring Vampires. Also Makeup artist joe blasco according to his website (http://www.joeblasco.com/blascoschools/schools-intro/main/joeblasco_credits1.htm) did work with Frankenstein's Monster in 1970. Also "Joe" could fit the "name game".

The thing that throws me is the "never been featured" part of the clue. Unless that relates more to the features of the maze and not so much the theme.

  2. Only 2011 and 2012

    1. Dead End

    2. Gothic

    3. Nightingales: Blood Prey

    4. Nevermore: The Madess of Poe

    5. The In-Between

    6. Universal's House of Horrors

    7. Winter's Night: The Haunting of Hawthorne Cemetery

    8. Silent Hill

    9. The Forsaken

    10. The Walking Dead

5-10 are all my C-B range houses. Gothic/Dead end would get As, Nightingales/Poe A-/B+

HHN23 will probably shuffle this list quite a bit even if it is considered to be a 'bad' year

  3. Shout-out to the Beasts in NY last night around 12:15 taking full advantage of the whole "nowhere is safe" thing.

I was walking with about 4 others headed to Ben & Jerry's then one beast attacked us from the front making 2 girls scream their heads off. Another beast in the cast noticed the screams and came up behind them, which made them sprint into Ben & Jerry's. Then, as soon as they were in B&J and thought they were safe a 3rd beast charged into the ice cream parlor.

They were absolutely terrified...it was absolutely hilarious.

Gothic 10:15 Cast- the last gargoyle in the house absolutely nailed these same 2 girls. They had just pushed aside the curtains and saw the exit, then you came out of nowhere and made them retreat back behind the curtain...literally making one of them fall to the ground (first time I've ever seen that happen). Then as they got back up you kept scaring them. Fantastic job!

    Dead End- 1:10 Cast.

So many good scares. Everyone seems to have timed their effect to perfection. The guy on the left in the garden room came out of nowhere and scared the same group mentioned above to the literal ground. The mirror boo-hole guy in the bathroom got a different person in my group making her scream for the first time of the night. The boo-hole guy located near the floor towards the end of the house got a different guy to scream for the first time of his night.

9/29 Opening cast of Dead End. the 2nd Peppers ghost gave me the best scare i've ever gotten in any house....ever. I applaud thee.

Dead End is the only house that I can say I was truly scared in...solid scares throuought and a few of the best scares I've ever seen... my house of the year without a doubt.

  4. I was eating outside of Mel's last night.

Plenty of interaction with Traditionals. At one point one of the actors with a bell came up to me and rang her bell, stuck out her hand and pointed at an unused ketchup packet at my table. I gave it to her and she took it to the table next to us and set it on someones tray.

so maybe they'd do the same with candy?

  5. I emailed. Hopefully others here did too so the 22 clues (note the #) don't just end up in the hands of random facebook fans that have never heard of HNN. It'd be great to get all the Info we can.

I guess this could ironically be considered "Wishful thinking"...

  6. Also: There's a new picture on that Instagram account that contacted JW today. Picture is here.Comment underneath says:

in response to the quote "Hear the whispers and dare respond. But if they answer... Best be gone."

could have to do with contacting the supernatural? Sounds Legendary Truth-y

  7. I just did some reading on Robert the Doll.

From what I gather the Artist house in Key West (the location of most things related to Robert) is a Victorian Style Mansion...

with all the poltergeist talk perhaps we could be looking at a house with a ton of different haunts (Robert et al.)

and to take the Neil Patrick Harris talk completely out of context I want Dr. Horrible as an Icon!

sure it wouldn't be fitting or scary or pleasing to anyone that is a fan of HHN...but it'd be awesome.

EDIT: well this is now fairly out of context outside of the speculation thread...whatever. Guess the 2nd half is wishful thinking

  8. Assuming that IS a pic from a "100 years of horror" house...which is quite an assumption...it looks like the house will not be entirely in that black/gray-scale painting people were talking about earlier.

I guess it is possible that we get black and white scenes with the real "classic" monsters...but this would mean the whole house would not be black/white.

maybe a progression through the "100 years of horror" starting in the past ending with more contemporary properties. Or backwards starting now. ENDING with a black and white (DE like) finale? Perhaps the tunnel (if we haven't already located it) could be used to transport in time?

I spitball a lot...if you haven't noticed by now in my 6 (or so) posts.

  9. Agreed on the humor being forced...last year especially. The "true grits" gag was just....dumb. Here's hoping to a possible Bieber arrest parody.

practically all I remember from last year was the True Grits joke...wasn't a fan personally.

B&T seems to have gone downhill every year i've seen it. I'm to the point where I don't think there's anything wrong or "lazy" with the writing...I just think its basically the same show every year.

I still go see it every year for a few laughs and a good change of pace from all the haunts.

  10. It was running through my brain that between Legacy's talk of "games" and Dr. Jimmy's "tribes" and how everybody says to think outside the box, that the different SZ "Tribes" would move and go to other SZ to battle each other, thus Jimmy's you can follow your favorite. This would be a rather fun time, and would allow the Skool Kids an opportunity to move when Death Drums 2 was coming out.

I can see it would be easier to put them in the Kid Zone where Fractured Fairytales was in 2008.

And the Clowns i was thinking more of in front of IFF where Canyon of Dark Souls was last year.

Thanks for your input. I just see us getting closer and closer and then Legacy has to mention a "12th Man" from out of nowhere.

But, since the fans are the 12th man in sporting events, I guess that would make "The Twelfth Man" - us.

but what role do we play?

we've practically been beaten over the head with Legendary Truth related clues. So mayhaps we will (again) take on the role of investigators?

we have seen LT go from relatively niche-y marketing to a House now maybe the next step is whatever it is exactly we'll see this year?

and the Mansion/Victorian house sounds like it could be a LT2 house...(because 'everyone loves sequals)

And this War/Alliance/Gathering/intramural sporting event (likely lacrosse based on current talk) is taking place on the streets while We+LT investigate?

because this thread is for speculation

  11. just some spitballing.

--from what I read it seems like wagers (goods, wives, children) were a part of Native American Lacrosse games.

--Maybe Doc is referring to the general idea of tribes? I can't really see how this would be used in a practical way (outside of themeing/marketing)...but perhaps we have "tribes" that are unified in some way like some way...which gets me thinking Terra Queen. was Terra Queen 2004? (2004's been alluded to a few times already).

--I thought we were getting more nomadic "zones". Doc mentioned in his latest video "running to follow your favorite"...but now we are getting set (but fairly general) locations from Doc. He also makes the distinction between the zones and "hordes" (for lack of a better word) in 2008. Maybe we have 6 generally set locations, and 2 actually nomadic groups?

    -Done spitballing

  12. Vampires in Central park.

seems like a great location for that

    or Hollywood.

I'm kinda an idiot sometimes. One of those times is now.

No we already established Ghosts in Central Park. Central Park being in New York City, although I can understand your confusion as the Central Park at Universal seems to be closer to areas in California.

    gotcha.

It gets confusing jumping from actual geography to Universal geography to relatively obscure sports history
