  1. you are just thinking about the Traditionals Mr. Fox :P I know you loved them, (I loved them too it is too bad you didn't see 2008)

Ah, you spotted me. Haha. Well I actually enjoyed all the legions at 22. In fact some of my friends who I took on Halloween night wanted to play Unearthed after going, but it had already ended (minus the puzzles). Some of them considered and still are considering joining the fan community, and it was the fun of Unearthed I told them about and the legions they saw on Halloween night that made them want to do it...but they didn't get FF, so the 31st was the only time they went. Oh, well. Maybe next year. :)

I've heard nothing but good things about The Skool scarezone. At least I saw the original house in 2005. :)

And as I said, legions were not perfect and so they did feel weird in front of Men In Black. Also, I frequently saw them going into shops. There are several videos of them on YouTube in stores/restaurants and pictures as well.

Again, this is not the hordes fault. To my knowledge, hordes were the compromise to the SS Parade's route during the day that affected the amount of props able to be in the streets during the night (and I'm sure everyone knows this). If we can do moveable set pieces again as Brandon pointed out, then I would still like them to incorporate some aspects of the hordes. It would be like scarezones but with wondering characters.

Hordes don't necessarily equal no set props, it was the SS Parade that caused this. Can we avert the lack of props next year by using moveable ones, hopefully. :)

Also, they don't even have to be called Street Experiences, they can call them scarezones again and deem them traditional scarezones, I don't care. I just want the roaming aspect, the freedom of the actors, and the no safezones idea (even though that's a gimmick, but it's part of the roaming aspect).

  2. A perfect storm for me, as far as hordes go, is splitting the park into respective territories. Put in specific sets and theming for each horde in those territories, and then let them roam around that whole area. There should be some characters that stay with the sets, but otherwise have the rest of them go where they please within their territory, lust like last year. That way, you can maintain the "nowhere is safe" idea, have proper sets, and still know where any particular horde is to go check them out.If they really wanted to get fancy, depending on what the hordes end up being, they could try for a lagoon show focusing on them, or maybe one for each one of them.
As I said when this thread first started, zones and hordes together would really be the best of both worlds. And it really does make sense for them to do both. We can have traditional zones with the great sets, and some characters will wonder, thus we will have the things that make both zones and hordes great. Not only should that make most of us more potentially satisfied, the scareactors as well. Most street actors I talked to said they liked the hordes and said it was less boring than zones because they weren't in the same area all the time.
  3. my biggest wishful thinking will always be that they pay as much attention to the scarezones as they did for 2010 (or 2008) My biggest dream every year for HHN is that the streets are as amazing as they were for 2010. (I kinda hope the hordes don't become the norm...)
I can understand not liking the hordes, but it seems you not liking them (as well as others on here) stems from that they didn't have set pieces to compliment them. That's not the hordes fault. Or you might just really not like the idea and that's okay. But I like them and this is wishful thinking so: The hordes were far from perfect, but I would still like to see them again. The thing that attracts me to them is the fact they can go anywhere (stores ect). Of course there will always be safe Zones, but I found it really fun to never no exactly where they were. I had fun hunting them down, of course at times it was annoying and you could go a night not seeing a certain legion, but it helped to not make it as bland. Not to see the same thing in the same area for the whole night. I think if there was elaborate sets again, then I think people might be more apt to enjoying the hordes. We couldn't have big sets last year anyways (as far as I'm concerned), so hordes made up for that. So they still haven't been used to their full potential, which I'd really love to see! :)

  4. i wouldn't hate it but I have never understood why people think he is scary, he looks cool though, but I would never be scared of him lol.

Slender himself isn't very scary, but I think the thing about him that people find creepy is his story or lack there of. You don't know really anything about him, and also the fact that he targets children I think strikes a nail with people. It was those things that made me shudder a bit when I first found out what he was, but now I don't find him scary, I find him vastly overrated.

If I'm going to be honest, every year - before the full reveal, I always freak out that they're might be a spider themed house. I would die! You couldn't get me to step in that. Not a chance. It's funny actually because everyone has their fears or that one fear, whether it be something quirky (like dolls or old people, yes I'm being serious haha), or mental institutions ect, the only thing that makes me shudder upon thinking about it is spiders. Nothing else. Pretty lame I know.

Clowns scared me when I was very young, but not anymore. In fact, I'd like some sort of carnival theme to a scarezone/horde or even a house. Bring it on! :chainsaw:

    ----

I think it would be cool if they did a sequel scarezone to Fright Yard. It doesn't have to connect IOA or Uni, it can just be in one park. I just thought that would be neat.

  5. At one point a couple years ago I kept waking up at 5 in the morning for no apparent reason which had happened on several occasions. Out of curiosity and fun I looked up the symbolism behind the number 5 to see what I would find. From what I found (I don't know how true this is, or what my exact source was or the credibility of said source), but it stated that 5 was often considered an evil number. The main reason to back this claim was the fact that they're 5 points on the pentagram, which you find assocated with satanism and witchcraft. Again, not sure how credible this is, but I thought I'd throw it out there to see if anyone has apposing arguments or opinions to the claim.

  6. I would love to see a house loosely based on the Field of Screams scarezone from HHN XIV.

I doubt they could ever do another cornfield scarezone outside so why not bring it into a soundstage/tent? It would most likely have to be fake plants, but the feel of that zone would translate really well into a house in my opinion. Hell, it kind of already has (ie the Hallow).

I'm not talking about a direct sequel to the Hallow (which would be badass as well), but something more along the lines of the Hallow mixed with some TCM/Devils Rejects. A cheesy corn maze that you would find in any rural area, but it is run by a group of redneck lunatics. I'm thinking corn maze in the beginning (endless boo holes with a corn field), some other structures to walk through in the middle (maybe a barn where they are processing/butchering victims; grain silo filled with various remains, etc), and then a final corn maze to escape the house.

Ideally, nobody is supposed to make it out of the corn maze alive, and the maze operators would be in constant pursuit of the patrons (us) and genuinely annoyed/surprised that we have not been captured yet. The last section of the corn maze would be the most intense as it would seem like everyone in charge of the maze would be doing everything they can to prevent your escape.

Oh, and did I mention that there would be chainsaws? I know chainsaws inside are a big "no-no" so they will have to figure out how to make the electric ones sound as vicious as the gas-powered.

The whole idea of having a corn field inside for a house is for sure possible. Yes, they'd most likely have to be fake (at least for the most part), but if I'm correct - I believe Knotts has done something very similar to this, so it's definitely possible. :)

  7. They could even just build the exact same house they did for 2007 and add zombies and I would be happy with it

I missed out on Home for the Holidays, so I wouldn't mind that...but if we were to be realistic, they wouldn't repeat like that. But, I would just like to have the same concept of that house again (going through multiple houses in a neighborhood). I think it would be really neat. It sounded awesome how everyone described it, and I would like to see it for myself.

It's times like these where I wonder if I should have gone to HHN instead of Howl-O-Scream back in 2007....granted I had fun at HOS (it was awesome), but I bet if I went to HHN in 2007, I probably would have returned for 18 and then only missed 16. Interesting thoughts.... *tear* haha, but it is what it is.

  8. For those interested in more about the number 23 and its symbolism, here is a link:

    http://www.ridingthebeast.com/numbers/nu23.php

It states basically everything JW said, but a tiny bit more, and it also goes more in-depth on the religious overtones. But this begs the question, will they try to employ the number itself into this year's event, maybe or maybe not. I'm very interested to find out what they will do. Also note, it is 2013. I wonder if that could also make it's way into this year as well. Only time will tell....and maybe good speculation and rumors later in the year...hopefully. :)
