  1. Being the giant book reader that I am, I would love it so much if they actually went along with this! However, it would probably never happen, due to it going over the head of everyone else attending.

It seems like most people here are acquainted with Bradbury's work, and so you know how dark his novels/short stories can be. I would love to see any of his macabre writings turned into houses (I would fan-girl so bad). Something Wicked This Way Comes would be wonderful, the Halloween Tree would as well, and some stories from The October Country could translate well into houses. Just talking about this makes me so excited. I guess my Bradbury is Mystique's Goones. :P

  2. On a random side note, I thought of something kind of funny and interesting today.

Well, you know how we aren't sure of whether HHN will begin on the 20th or 27th of September? Now, HHN starts in the autumn, right? But depending on weather you follow astronomy or meteorology to determine the seasons, this may not be the case. You see the meteorological fall starts September 1st. Okay. But astronomical fall has varying dates, which has to do with when the Earth's tilt begins to point the northern hemisphere away from the sun. I personally consider autumn's beginning at the start of the autumn equinox (astronomical fall), and most people do as well. The autumn equinox this year will be the 22nd of September. So, if HHN starts on the 20th, that means it will begin during the summer. It also means that last year's HHN began on the last day of summer (because the autumn equinox was the 22nd last year as well).

Does this matter? Of course not. I'm just bored and that occupied my mind for a couple minutes; thought I'd share my frivolous thoughts...though I'm not sure why. But hey, I find it interesting, haha.

  3. If I am not mistaken I think a pig mask was used in 08, If it wasn't used in the Skoolhouse zone it was used in the fairy tale zone, I remember seeing a pig mask,

thank you for the links, I will check it out, maybe buy from them.

I don't remember the pig (but of course I was not there in 2008), but from what I have seen from pictures, I don't recall it.

And you're welcome! They seem like pretty solid sites; I hope they help! :)

  4. Its a generic site, not a teaser site...

TJ and Rick are up to something.. Keep an eye on LT/HU

    That's what I meant, sorry. :P

I did not get these surveys by email. It started with me going to the Universal website and getting randomly selected to take a survey for the website. After that was complete it asked if I wanted to do more surveys (it had a list of them). I saw the HHN survey and clicked it and voila!

  5. Nice!

I just took the HHN 23 pricing survey... very short.

I also found the HHN 22 survey afterwards.. which was loooooooooooooooooooooong

But I got some awesome criticism in... and I gushed a bit over A&D at the end :P

I didn't do the pricing survey, though I probably should.

And yes, the HHN 22 survey was VERYYYYYY LONG! JW and I agreed that we both spent about 3 hours completing it! It was worth it though, and I'm part of the Universal's survey panel or whatever it's called because I think they're fun. So it was worth it to me and I had fun doing it. I as well worked in some criticism but fan-girled over Unearthed and a couple other things. I also mentioned for HHN to push the fright and intensity as far they are allowed to; push the envelope and be more balls-y again. Though I worded it more eloquently then that, haha.

And the new teaser site is interesting. I kind of like it, but it reminds me a bit of 22....and we all don't want another site like 22s...... *shudders*

  6. right... sorry LOL I don't know why I Said wolf when it is a fox, I think I was thinking about wolves when writing this :lol:

    Yeah I meant fox.... :ninja:

I've see the Fox and Bunny and cat masks, but Ive never seen the tiger masks for sale, That's the one I haven't seen

There used to be this online store that had all kinds of masks, I saw the Bunny mask and a pig mask they used in 2008, but they were too small I think, they were for kids, They also had the bunny mask, the price was cheap too, but they sold out and never got any more.

A halloween store here In Orlando by Fashion Square Mall in Colonial had fox and bunny masks, but they were not good quality. the paint was weird, they were big they would fit me but they were like 9 bucks and like I said the paint was badly done.

I keep trying to look for them but I can't find them, I would love to get all of them, I already have a wall with masks but just different halloween masks I have a pumpkin mask too and a day of the dead mask,

    ldfVGfJ.jpg?1

    Wolves are cool too. :P

And it's funny because the tiger mask was given to me as a gift, but my friend got it from a Halloween store...so they should be around somewhere. Ebay is usually not a bad place to find them (if you're not shaky about using Ebay that is). Amazon also has a few of them for really cheap prices, but their selection isn't very large.

I know you're trying to find them, so I hope this helps you out! Well, I checked the tiger mask my friend got for me and there is a sticker on the back that has the name of the company that made it (or distributed it), but that doesn't matter. Anyways, the company is called Forum Novelties Inc. They have a website and I'll link you their selection of animal based masks/costumes. They have a pretty good selection, but I'm not sure what the pricing is because you need to create an account to see the prices and more info on the items. But, they do have the bunny mask! :) They also have other cool ones that weren't used (like the pig and wolf).

    Linkage: http://www.forumnovelties.com/search.asp

Here's another website that I'm using in search of more masks. This also has the bunny mask and others. Pretty good prices as well, but I didn't check shipping.

And I feel like I might have seen that store you mentioned...but I'm not entirely sure....

That pumpkin mask is really cool! It kind of reminds me of the one from Halloween III: Season of the Witch.

  7. I actually wanted to do this when the 2008 Skoolhouse scarezone happened, but I never found them for cheap, (I found some animal masks but for like 15 or 20 without shipping, too much for little plastic masks.

I really wish I could find them for cheap. Where did you buy your wolf mask from?

Anyways, This is really nice, I like what you are doing, I wanted to do the same but I wanted mostly to get the mask that was my favorite of 2008

    OgCtyhg.jpg?1

I really do not understand Why they didn't use this mask for 2012, it was my favorite costume of 2008.

They even had this mask on the preview of the costumes for 2012. I don't know, I was pretty disappointed. But the Bunny mask has been used for HHN a couple of years, so you might want to add it to your list too lol

you have Wolf mask, tiger mask

    I would say get

    Cat mask

    Chicken mask

maybe Bunny mask or pig mask,

    or Monkey mask.

Sorry, you kept saying "wolf" in your post, but to clear things up, it is a fox mask (go figure :P). But, if you're looking for a wolf mask, I have seen those floating around as well. They look like this:

    61380-Deluxe-Kids-Wolf-Mask-large.jpg

I got my fox mask from a company called Screamers Costumes, they have a website, but I bought mine off of their Ebay store. Unfortunately, they only had 6 and they all got sold. You also can't find that fox mask on their website either, so I think the ones they were selling on their Ebay store were excess ones they didn't want anymore. I got lucky too because my fox mask looks fairly close to the Traditional/Skool Children ones. The most common fox masks you'll find on the Internet do not look much like the HHN ones. Typically they don't have the holes for where your eyes go where the actual mask eye holes are.

I also got mine for $11 (which includes shipping). Totally worth it!

I was also wondering what had happened to the bunny mask. I remember seeing it in the promo video for the street experiences, yet I never saw it. It is a shame, it's a cool mask and is one of the ones I am heavily considering! :)

How could I forget Zachary? :P

Yes, the owl is another one I am considering, but the ones I have seen aren't the greatest, but I did see one that looked close to the HHN one, so I'll have to find it! Also, the cat is another one I want too. And in regards to the chicken mask, the only ones I have seen are very bulky and cumbersome.

    Oh man....decisions, decisions.....

Oh and Mr. Black, if you ever start collecting them too, I'd love to see your progress and what you're doing with them! Thanks for the complements on my wall as well, haha.

  8. Happy February Traditionals thread. Yes, I'm still here! xD

I just had a Morphan revelation that I thought I'd share. And here it is:

    tumblr_mcvblmQ7kV1rvughbo1_500.jpg

Tiger Girls socks are amazing! I never noticed this before. Haha. But seriously. They're rad as shit, yo!

*facepalm* haha. why did I post that?

    ---------

In other news, I'm collecting Traditional masks now! My friend gave me a tiger mask just as a present, and I got the idea to collect them and hang them in my room. Today I acquired my fox mask! It's the closet one I could find to the real HHN ones. Most of the fox masks you'll find won't have the actual eye holes where the eyes are, but the Traditional/Skool Children ones have them there. I also snagged the last of these beauties. Here it is:

Here it is next to my tiger mask on my wall:

I need 3 more to fill the space and I am still currently debating which ones I should pick. Anyways, I'll update you with the progress. :)

  11. Blood N' Gutz

Although I don't get this pic at all

I think the picture has to do with kind of Internet meme versions of the icons. I could be wrong, but it's funny and I liked it. :)

I'm highly convinced this was posted for me. Kidding haha, but I died anyways. :)

  12. I got mine! I've already seen Art of the Scare, but I downloaded this for the "Horror Comes Home" aspect of it. I was curious to see what it was all about...and then I found out it was the documentary that more or less inspired Horror Night Nightmares. I remember reading about it when I joined Nightmares, but never really thought twice about it. So, it was great to finally see it! Thank you so much, it was really fantastic. Now, sorry if I sound stupid, but did you have something to do with the making of the documentary? If so, then brilliant work. I highly enjoyed it, and to anyone reading this, I highly recommend this download. :)

  13. the freedom for the actors and the no safe zones could be done in traditional scarezones (Makes me wonder why they never tried this before)

Haha, I know right? :P And to your other comments on that same post, lets just hope we get the moveable set pieces.

    ----------

Through the past couple years at HHN we've been seeing similar types (or similar concept) houses appearing at the event. What I mean by this is that we've had multiple ghost houses recently and 3D houses as well. A thought just popped into my head regarding 3D houses, will we get another one? I've mentioned ghost houses before, but again, will we get another one?

In 2010 we had Legendary Truth and Psychoscarepy: Echos of Shadybrook; in 2011 we had Winter's Night; in 2012 we had Dead End. After four ghost houses in a row (and two in one year), do you think we will get another one for 23? I'm not trying to raise any forms of serious speculation so early in the year, so it's just a thought and some wishful thinking. But this all leads to another question, would you want another ghost house?

In 2011 we had The Inbetween, and in 2012 we had Penn & Teller. Again, do you think it's likely for there to be another 3D house? They seem to be fairly popular from the words I hear. And again, would you want another 3D house?
