  1. That I don't know. i just heard it was a reimagining. There are many many different version of La Llorona (Just like with Bloody Mary):

She was a widow, her husband cheated on her, She had a lover that didn't like her kids, she's old, she's young, she has a horse head, she cries blood, etc.. Just like with any myth it evolves and adapts to the regiion it goes to. I recently drew her with a horse skull head... So the possibilities are numerous.

I think Mike did a spectacular job of creating a backstory for Blood Mary that was completely different and new. Actually one of my favorite years website wise. But i'm not saying she IS an icon. Just that she COULD be. I'm leaning more towards the original house as the details are very vague and the reality is somewhat comical and pathetic... Or something else entirely different that ties them together. I just feel an investigation needs something to... well investigate. You need a central plot point to uncover. Otherwise, what are you investigating? Random houses that only have tenuous ties? No you need a focal point, a main driving force behind whatever happens. It doesn't have to be an icon... Could be like the lantern from xx (minus fear) or the fear machine from 14.

Because no one has mentioned it, I think I heard wrong...but at the LT briefing, didn't they say we were investigating the legions?

  2. Would it be possible for someone to post a list of everything (major) that's speculated to maybe the first page or something? Or even here as sort of a recap for us poor souls so we don't have to to go through 43 pages. Thank you. B)

Haha. I've been here since the beginning, but I missed about the last 10 pages and I don't have the time to go through them. I've been so busy and I only have about 15 minute intervals of Internet usage, so I just don't have the time to check.

It sucks that you've missed 43. I hope someone can come along to help you. Though, watching all of Doc's videos where he reads the guesses for his clues is a good start on the major things being speculated.

  3. I'm sure it'll be original and hopefully zombie free. And if we're getting a straight prison house that's not TWD, that makes me think they'll do TWD like last year, a best-of for the whole season. Start at the prison, they could use a few places in woodbury, forest, and other places.

True. I also don't see as big of a property as The Walking Dead going in a tent. Sure two IP's were in tents last year, but if TWD returns it will most likely be the focus of the event or advertising again...and therefore I don't see it being put in a tent. I don't know, maybe that's just me.

  4. I love the idea of an original (not Walking Dead) prison-based house. But, I don't really like the idea of it being in a sprung tent. I feel it would fit more appropriately in a sound stage.

I know tents can put on wonderful houses (I'm not anti-tent houses) but I would just prefer this in a soundstage.

And if there is an original prison and WD prison house...that would bother me. Why two similar things? There's no need. Of course WD will bring the money. I've wished for a prison house for some years now...I hope it's original and not WD or zombie centered.

  5. Now, for my next guess, I'm really only going off the word and not much else. The word is Spanish for silence, and in Portuguese, silence is also Silencio.

If you look at it from the Portuguese (or Brazilian) side, there is the infamous horror icon, Coffin Joe.

Doing anything with these movies might honestly be too controversial, but it's worth the guess. Plus I don't recall him being mentioned here.

Also, there are many dialects of Spanish...think of all the countries that speak Spanish. It doesn't have to be Mexico necessarily.

  6. I'm a big Christine fan.. I own diecast, vinyl soundtrack, book, and DVD.. My question is.. How could they even try to pull off a Christine house? Just wondering

I think Christine is way too obvious, but who knows, it could be exactly that.

If it really is Christine, I honestly don't see them pulling it off. No offense to A&D, but that's a hard property to dabble with. They could have some creepy car-garage scenes, but that's about the extent that I can think of (though I haven't seen the movie in a long time and I never read the book).

And who, or what, would be the scareactors? Would it be animatronic cars... or people dressed as cars. Okay...that I'd pay to see. This must be the humor house of the year, haha.

  7. That too. It wouldn't work as a straight forward maze, but as a hint to the theme of an original maze it sounds cool.

Yeah, it would be really cool. In my opinion I think the concept of the Blair Witch Project is very scary and it's one of the few horror movies to ever genuinely creep me out. Though, some people don't find it scary, but what scares you may not exactly scare me. Everyone has specific nails that strike with them.

Anyways, if I want to get on an over-thought tangent, well we have the Blair Witch. People have speculated that American Horror Story might be a house, and season 3 of the show will be based around witches and voodoo. Hm...

  8. The character "Christine" in the Bad Seed was played by Blair Brown. Here's a few off the cuff speculations from there...

    Blair could = Linda Blair.

Blair was also in a movie called "Loverboy" directed by Kevin Bacon. Not sure what to make of that, but it could be something.

The plot of Bad Seed could be seen as a mirror image of La Llorona?

The plot reminds me a lot of The Omen...

Blair was also in that show Fringe, which could relate to Legendary Truth.

    *cough* Blair Witch Project *cough*

  9. Why was a word deleted from the Ifrit's riddle?

"Six degrees are all I need to ensure that your minds Bake."

"On to the next and we will see if you have what it <deleted>."

Well it appears the word "takes" would fit in place.

It was probably "deleted" as part of the clue; in an effort to be more cryptic.

So "takes" was deleted. I'm not sure what to draw from that.

  10. What theme is that? My expectation is that the "theme" will be similar to last year.

Yeah, I've been debating that as well.

It's fixin' to be another IP dominated year, so theme-wise, will it be like last year? Will an IP be the theme, like how The Walking Dead was? Theme? *scoffs* theme, my ass.

Or maybe we will get something coherent and not just a bunch of random houses like last year. Though with so many possibilities for IPs, and so many varying worlds and ideas, I feel that would be pretty hard. It wouldn't be impossible, but is it likely? I am unsure. A coherent theme would show a lot of effort and maybe more originality, depending on what they do, could do, or are alloud to do with it.

Though, if they're going to "follow the money," as Penn would say, a popular IP as a theme would bring in the bucks.

  11. You're welcome, Chris. Haha.

And to prove your point even more, I screen-capped the generic site the first day it went up and it sates select nights through Sept and Oct.

And of course we know now it extends into November.

So you're not going to find many useful things on the generic site (at least if they do it like previous years).

  12. I don't know if anyone touched on this...

But on the website along with the event dates, the top states "all-new houses" than under "spine-chilling street experiences".

Please let this mean scarezones!!! I didn't really like the street experience last year due to the lack of sets.

Well if we really want to get technical, the generic website states "spine-chilling street experiences" and " shocking scarezones."

  13. Speaking on a different manner, could there be a specific reason as to why certain pictures were chosen for the website? Anything couldve been picked seeing as they/ we all take spectacular photos. Could there be some significance, or once again, going in too deep.

When the general website first came out, I did notice how a lot of the pictures were from HHN 18, and there is obviously HU/LT this year.

It may not mean anything, and if it was intentional maybe it was more of an homage.

That's just how I always saw it.
